Rush Limbaugh is creating awareness of the benefits of E-Cigs and the FDA's efforts to ban them but I don't like him.

Can we please get past this here?
Take it to another forum if you have more to say about the man. Those threads already exist in the Outside Forum. This is not the place.
Rush - Pro or Con, you're not the only one to think so.

And has Fox bothered to report it's their 2nd biggest shareholder who helps fund the "terror mosque"? I find it hilarious that Fox News itself is essentially funding the very thing they spread fear about.

● Fox (Newscorp) is a foreign owned organization.
● Rupert Murdoch is a foreign national.
● The largest single minority shareholder is a member of the Saudi royal family.
● Saudi Arabia sells us a metric crapton of petroleum.
● George Bush is a Republican and an oil man.
● .... Cheney is a Republican and an oil man. <--- I can't even say the guy's name here.
● Saudi Arabia's oil industry is nationalized for the family.
● Those guys were in the sack together; even holding hands on camera.
● The largest single minority shareholder of Fox is a member of the Saudi royal family.
● Republicans are in bed with Saudi nationals and their inside network.
● The Bush family have a generational relationship with the bin Laden family.
● 15 of the 911 hijackers were Saudi nationals.
● Osama bin Laden is a Saudi national.
● Saudi nationals own a large part of Fox.
● Saudi nationals financed, planned and executed 911.
● The money they financed it with? IT WAS OUR MONEY!
● Fox claims to your face they care about 911 survivors, then blast footage of the buildings coming down in order to whip up their viewers into a particularly disturbing militant xenophobia they sell as romantic patriotism but which is really virulent, belligerent nationalism.
● Of course, every single time when someone gets hurt, Fox looks around and acts like they didn't do it.
● Republicans pimp fear because their policies have been demonstrated to be disastrous for the country and they have 0 ideas that are good for the whole of America; only ones that are good for 2 percent or so. Dangerously close to being found out, they shriek, spin, lie, deny, defer, deflect, accuse and vote as a hammer for the sake of their only god; their money masters. They vote as a hammer in order to hobble the country's chosen administration and clear majority mandate; to hamstring any effort to fix the very sobering issues facing the country. They know they don't stand with America, not by a long shot, so they play on the worst human instincts in order to whip up a hapless and ignorant base. Instead of approaching governance in good faith, they repeatedly attempt to sabotage the country's recovery from the damage THEY ARE RESPONSIBLE FOR and make the country as ungovernable as possible, so they can claim that with a majority nothing still got done and present themselves as a competent alternative. They think no one can see this. Republicans pimp fear in the land of the brave to distract from how they act and to hide who their allegiance belongs to.

:2c:? The more you listen to Fox, the more you are being tricked by Osama bin Laden himself!

They got you comin' and goin.'

CROSS-POST / DOUBLE POST

Rush Limbaugh is NOT your "ally" in ANYTHING vape related.

Here's how it's going to play out:

He's gonna catapult these things into the mainstream and in so doing, set the narrative for classified/controlled status.

"It’s no different than Nicorette gum." That's a quote from the linked article.

Once his dittohead collective start bleating that line, we're finished. It sets the narrative for classifying your beloved PV as a "drug-delivery device - no different than Nicorette gum..."

You're gonna be paying 6 bucks for single-use cartomizers and you will have begged for it.

Worrying about the future without knowing what it holds is not my way of being. I suggest we keep track of how it plays out and look for opportunities to educate the general public.

Rush is an extremely popular radio personality, who I don't listen to because I don't believe in the current political structure. He accomplishes his goal, which is to have tons of listeners and get high ratings by making shocking comments and being very polarized. If he draws attention to something that could otherwise get swept under the rug by the FDA, I'm all for it. If he says its just like the gum we don't need to worry, last time I checked he isn't a doctor or scientist.

Right now major newspapers are writing fair articles about our potential doom. If Rush had even a small part in making that happen by his exposure he did us well.

Bombenhagel is a Republican at heart. I can tell.

I am neither. I am the maverick you hear 'em talk about but have never actually seen. I am not a partisan. I am always willing to be convinced. I consider myself extremely well read, studied, written, spoken, versed, thought and traveled. I don't trust anyone who says they have a lock on the truth. Objectivity is very high on my list. All ideas are welcome here. They rise or sink based on the merit of the argument and supporting evidence offered.

Yeah, so about that "evidence..."

How much more evidence do you need that Reaganomics wrecked our per capita income and American standard of living??? (We don't need an outdated "manufacturing" sector. The new economy is one of services and information. It will create hundreds of thousands, if not millions of new jobs and lead America to that shining city on a hill.)

How much more evidence do you need that NAFTA (Clinton, but handed to him by a post-Republican-revolution majority) opened up the floodgates to outsource our jobs or bring in foreign nationals under H-1B visas? (Those hundreds of thousands, if not millions of new jobs ALL went to foreigners overseas or foreigners "wedged" here, with absolutely no stake in the community and working for 20% the traditional wage in some cases.)

Because of "trickle down" "supply side" economics and "free trade," our country's marrow has been sucked right out. Can you feel it? This place is hollow. It is at risk of collapsing under its own weight. Those clowns act like more of that same crap is going to somehow have the opposite effect even as the global pulse quickens.

Because of "trickle down" "supply side" economics and "free trade," we've LOST hundreds of thousands, if not millions of jobs.

Yeah. Go ahead, then, and have the nerve to wonder why I think rank-and-file Republicans are the most useful of useful idiots & how they DAILY demonstrate that they're too stupid to even KNOW they're stupid. Here, we're told, in about 2 months' time, they're gonna bitterly vote back in the same jagovs that blind them with nightmares and strip their cash by preventing them even from knowing the RULES of the game being played on them...

Yes, even the architects of these policies have come out and said they were horrible in retrospect. They've said (Greenspan and GWB's econ advisor both) that for their part(s), they had regrets but didn't know how things got out of control.

That's what you get when you let the pigs chip away at a perfectly good system and re-write the rules.

What did we think was gonna happen?

FFWD... 2008.

By their reckless disregard for the prospect of non-volatile, sustainable growth and in search of only a quick buck (stability and ultimate longevity of the land of their birth be damned), by their invention of esoteric, made-up "financial instruments," a craven obsession to be ever more joyous to the death & like a tick too drunk from gorging on blood to know when it's had enough to drink...

They popped and threw their toxic sack of crap straight into the ceiling fan, poisoning entire segments of our behemoth American "competitive, free-enterprise" system. Too big to be allowed to fail?

That's like organ failure when the Sherman Antitrust law says they can't be any bigger than a tumor.

Your buddies with more zeros at the end of their balance sheets than they can print on one line sure didn't "free up capital" for lending like you said they would, did they? They paid off their own foreign debts (more offshoring of our national wealth) and then you know what these backslappers did after they nearly took out the world's economy? They paid themselves huge bonuses for wrecking the place, claiming that their salaries were necessary and, well, who would do the job for any less?

How about the 50 year-old Mexican immigrant who is an engineer and economist... the qualified man who they've entrusted with pouring my ice water at 3AM at Perkins? He seems to want to stay here. He's learned enough of my language to get by and works hard in the middle of the night at a job that is clearly beneath him. I bet you could get him to do it frickin' RIGHT, and I bet you could get him to do it for less.

Mexicans are our permanent neighbors, the fastest growing demographic, and hey, most of 'em are profoundly religious & socially conservative to boot! Republicans and "free trade" mania opened up the dang border in the first place. You think they're gonna tell you that? Not now!

They're counting on you to swallow what they give you to swallow about Ronald Reagan; lionized into some kind of a stalwart statesman. Ronald Reagan dyed his hair to try and psych out Mikhail Gorbachev! That's like France's tiny little President standing on his tippy-toes for photos with Obama = WEAK! Ronald Reagan was nothing more than a gimmick to move product; a pitch man who by his own admission was "a willing captive of his aides," and who by all measure was senile before even campaigning for a second term. His tarot-card playing wife ran the country (her & and the Military Industrial Complex the last honorable Republican president warned us about) the entire second term. Who else could sell weapons to Iran in a sleazy 3 way that involved smuggling c0ca1n3 into my country with CIA planes and propping up the worst kind of thugs in Central America? Reagan. It was the political conservatives in Soviet Russia that brought it down. Fact. It didn't collapse so much as it was overthrown by capitalists. Yugoslavia was the darling of the Cold War and is the only socialist country to outpace our economy in terms of growth during the time things were real keen over here. Yugoslavia stood apart from the Eastern Bloc and founded the non-aligned nations movement. Well, we sure smashed that place, too, after it outlived its usefulness. Serbia is a wreck today because of it. Tons of crazy ... civil war veterans with a grenade or two stashed running around; monopoly capitalism, shock-doctrine economy in a box. Even Serbian dogs are sad, I swear to God.

Oh, yeah. Mexicans...

Republicans could really, really have a slam dunk but they don't even know a good thing when it comes running across into our country. Republicans think it would be really great for their party platform to alienate and dehumanize Mexicans. Really? Those anchor babies are gonna vote eventually, but "long term consequence" is something Republicans just can't get through their shallow, knotted brows.

So yeah, where was I? 2008... as if we hadn't been taken for enough on their watch with fuel prices spiking sharply for no reason in the summer of 2008 (Republicans and their oil buddies just hammered us super hard one last time because they couldn't see being allowed anywhere near the cookie jar again anytime soon) REPUBLICANS, having facilitated this turd storm with their rigged economy, then proceeded to bail out their predatory lenders/banks/insurer buddies with more of our money, simply by flashing a single page ransom note, to the tune of 760 BILLION dollars; extreme fear was pimped, as usual & no strings were attached... THEY DID THIS ON THEIR WAY OUT THE DOOR.

Now Wall Street is trading at pre-crash levels. Banks are bigger buttholes than ever. Like always, the fattest of the fat cats are sitting pretty while my mom, who retired from management at IBM, just got jacked on her insurance & is considering a reverse-mortgage on her house so she can frickin' EAT.

Republicans have "misplaced" PALLETS of shrink wrapped hundreds in Iraq and then they have the stones to talk about "fiscal responsibility?"

Republicans think a good way to get the bills paid is to cut sources of national revenue.

Rank-and-file red, red Republicans don't understand that there are services contained in their tax dollars, and that the dollar they spend towards building a bomb is gone forever. Rank-and-file red, red Republicans don't understand that a dollar spent on infrastructure may pay out more than the dollar they invested. Schools are a perfect example. Rank-and-file red, red Republicans are belligerent and hostile to knowledge. They have a tendency to DISTRUST most the very same people who MOST know what they are talking about.

Rank-and-file red, red Republicans don't understand that money to build bombs contracted out to the Republican war industry leaves the country for good, and that their very own leaders who they suck on could give a crap for America, her wealth, her citizens or the quality of life anywhere. Cheney's own Halliburton quit trying to pretend altogether. They are now a United Arab Emirates based corporation, except for " global services" set up through shell corporations in tax havens. These same people are selling you "patriotism" while they are hedging MILLIONS from their own investment portfolios AGAINST the United States dollar.

Rank-and-file red, red Republicans don't understand who they should be upset with...

Rank-and-file red, red Republicans don't understand that if we need steel, we need to buy it from Pittsburgh. It may cost a tad more, which looks very, very bad on this quarter's profit sheet, but it's only because they don't understand that when we "buy it from ourselves," we get the steel and we also get to keep the money!

Rank-and-file red, red Republicans don't understand that taxes are the cover charge into the country club called America. Rank-and-file red, red Republicans don't understand that we lift each other up, here. We lift our neighbor up, and he will catch us if we fall.

Rank-and-file red, red Republicans don't understand that only third world countries enjoy such benefits as low taxation and small, ineffective government "so small you can drown it in the bathtub." Somalia is a good example. No "big government bureaucracies" over there. Just a lot of free market capitalism. No "regulation" on industry? Come on! Nothin' but jobs being created over there! The free market sure can handle anything, huh? It sure handled Somalia.

Republicans "leaders" are pushing that capital exists prior to and apart from labor. The ones with the money are the ones who create the jobs, the argument goes. If we don't allow them to run roughshod over us even more, they're liable to create a lot less/fewer jobs. What the HE// is that? A threat?

The private sector is not creating anything except record profit statements, quarter after quarter after quarter after QUARTER. They're doing it on our backs by wielding the legal framework in which business is done like a weapon against us.

It was never like this before. America is sick. America has a disease. It was NEVER like this before.

Can anybody tell me where the innovative private sector jobs are even gonna come from, assuming they're coming at all?

Maybe for their 2 percent masters, wealth is created without work, but SOMEONE is working. Work makes wealth, not the other way around. Labor creates capital, no? "Hard work is the yeast that raises the dough" and all that?

Seriously, you guys are the party of Lincoln and not just the shameful legacy of your fathers' Dixiecrats? You think we don't know that a paradigm shift occurred right around the time of the Southern Strategy and all racist Democrats defected en masse to the Republican party, where they continue to be duped against their own betterment to this day?

Lincoln, huh? You sure?

"Labor is prior to, and independent of, capital. Capital is only the fruit of labor, and could never have existed if labor had not first existed. Labor is the superior of capital, and deserves the much higher consideration."

labor is the superior of capital - Google Search

Can ANYBODY name something specific Republicans have some up with, oh, say, IN THE LAST 30 YEARS OR SO, that has ACTUALLY turned out to be good for America?

(looks at watch)

Can ANYBODY name ANYTHING the Republican party has done FOR you?

Because I could sit here all day providing three levels of verification that they haven't. Moreover, I could sit here all WEEK providing objective evidence of their policies being a complete turd storm for 98 percent of Americans.

HOW MANY TIMES DO YOU HAVE TO GET SUCKER PUNCHED BEFORE YOU TURN AROUND AND SEE WHO'S DOING IT???

What have the Republican party done FOR you in the last 30 years?

What have the Republican party done TO you in the last 30 years?

This isn't team loyalty or Pepsi vs. Coke. This isn't, "Both parties are the same." Dude, the Republicans gave us a Supreme Court that says corporations have the right to buy elections.

All you Johnny Tremain patriots who like to play dress up?

Slap that fife out of your hand and remember this: While you are out there "extream-freedom-eagle-ing" & demanding your Constitutional right to be exploited, what you're really doing is handing over control of your lives to entities that are not bound by the United States Constitution; entities not accountable to you, entities that will never be accountable to you and know they will never be accountable to you. They can keep on pounding you and they never have to stop! They're calling slavery "liberty" and distracting you with ridiculous caricatures of black people in order to dizzy you up. You go, "Where? Where?" and then they strip your cash (& essential liberty) while you're not watching. Part of freedom means freedom from other "individuals' " financial initiatives, you know, but the Republican rank-and-file fairly suck on their disinformation. Why? Because they pay you bare lip service maybe every 2 years before they discard you? Joe the wife beating not-a-plumber thought he was gonna run for office. That rank-and-file lifer didn't even have the sense to paint "Joe the Plumber" in huge letters across a cube truck and drive it all the way to the bank. Republicans have no idea what's going on.

When the anti-homo party of family values actually gets a straight sex scandal, they immediately sluff it through several levels of administration where they drop it squarely on the black guy they elected in the final round of voting possible, only so they could say "they had one, too." That is quite see-through, shameful and not good at all for the big picture, but then, Republicans have no clue of the bigger picture.

They think just because it's not straight over their house that global climate change isn't real. Screw all empirical data otherwise. Republicans think science is just another opinion.

Republicans are like goldfish and I've just demonstrated it. "Well, gee, Bombenhagel. How'd ya do that?" I've shown right here in any number of ways that Republicans (a) have extremely short memories, that they (b) p--p where they eat and (c) that they fear or straight-up can't comprehend a world existing outside their little sphere.

See that tiny little scratch I made on the surface, there? Wait, oh yeah. There. I could barely see it, myself... More like a scuff, really. This stuff goes deep; it's not for people who mix up "to" and "too."

I wait. I wait for Chuck Norris to slip. I don't need him to sleep; just slip, and then, uba egar320?

Then I am going to let him know how I really feel! :toast:

You make a good argument. Long ... post, but good argument. I can't name anything that any politician has ever done for me. Everything I have I made happen myself. I like where you say you are on neither side, but you sound pretty heavily leaned one way. I, like you am not fans of anyone claiming to do good for the people right now. Are either parties that different in your opinion? I don't think so.

And right when you think Chuck has slipped and is vulnerable to attack, BAM...roundhouse kick!

PS my first post to you was a joke, just in case you thought I was serious.

Gee, I didn't know this was a charged political debate. I'll give you a non-political explanation of the problems in our country. It's all the baby-boomers fault. Not their fault really, just that they are such a big cohort population. However, it was THEM who sucked all the happiness off the planet. In the 60's they did all the drugs, in the 70's they had free love and all the sex they could handle, in the 80's they grew up and all made a bundle of money. In the 90's they got a conscience and gave a us political correctism. Sure, it was okay for them to have fun, but not anyone after them. Being a gen-x'er I'm REALLY sick of that generation. I like them on an individual level, but as a group it really sucks following such generation. THEY are the ones with lots of extra money that became the dot com stock bubble. After that, they took all their money and started flipping houses. They are such a large group that when they all move together like that they create a bubble with anything they do. Now they will retire and we'll have a health care bubble next. When they are done there won't be anything left. I'll not get the retirement promised me at work, nor will I get social security. At least I'm prepared for it. I wouldn't worry about the current unemployment. This group will retire soon and with it the need for so many new jobs. We'll probably have a labor shortage in about 5-10 years because there will be so few of them left in the work force.

We simply cannot rely on our government, Republican or Democrat, left or right, to protect us from the faceless corporate elite.

E cigs are a threat to Big Tobacco and Big Pharma. And e cigs are not taxed as cigarettes are. In New York, smokers are paying $4.69 in taxes PER PACK check your state at the pdf Ive linked.

Ecigs are safer than cigarettes. We all know this. But it DOESN'T matter. What matters is how can the government CONTROL them and gain revenue from them.

We can blast each others politics all day long, but in the end, both sides use propaganda to get us to think as they want us to. Like a foreign government? Its called an administration. Don't like it? It's called a regime.

The simple truth is we DON'T want the government stepping into e cigs in any way, shape or form. Republican or Democrat, it doesn't matter they have both proven that all they can do is screw it up, and ALWAYS to the detriment of the people.

EDIT:

Dave,

don't even get me started on the Baby boomers and how they screwed up the world. Lol. I could go on and on.

But if you must post in The Lounge then post a link here and Ill follow you there and complain up a storm about the Baby Boomers lol

So, his comment was based on actual news and fact - that African Americans apparently prefer menthol.

Like I said before, it's not like he said, "watermelon flavor for the brothers." THAT would have been racist.

Fact or not, I wasn't trying to paint him as a racist.

Saying ANYTHING that can be even remotely construed as racist on the air is very very dangerous to careers. I was amazed he had the balls to go there.

I am not a fan, in fact I would consider myself an enemy of Dr Laura. Her ...... rant has basically ended her career, BUT...I think the point she was making was right! And the accusation that it was a racist rant is wrong! ( in my oh so humble opinion ) Some people can say that word and it's fine and some people can't.

Personally, I think it's alot like saying Voldemort in the magical realm of Harry Potter ( yeah I went there lol ) There's fear of the word and it's now the fear that gives it power rather than the word itself.

( If this sparks a Harry Potter debate in this thread, I apologize lol )

Seriously?

I come to this thread to catch up on PV news and I have to wade through the bile spew of those who cannot keep the OUTSIDE where it belongs?

I don't listen to Rush, but I interested in hearing what he has said and is saying about PV's and the FDA.

Can we keep the news threads on news and take the Dem vs Rep shouting to the outside thread?

Thanks.

This thread needs a pruning.

Everyone's getting a haircut today... :glare:

I'm done, but please read again. I made some edits & nothing is made up, there.

Parting shot: It's always when I unload with a bunch of facts that most Republicans don't want to talk politics anymore... :p

I love vaping but do not trust industry anymore. Until it bites you, you don't care. And I am not a partisan, as I said.

It's clear who's in my corner and who's not. It's as simple as that. Things worked really well here until the Corporation declared war on us.

A legal framework existed for companies to do business in. That legal framework was dismantled. Now we are here. My dad said his Republican party was long gone which was a huge statement for him. You don't even know...

So the choice is clear: You want America to end? Keep on voting Republican out of fear, ignorance and lack of fact checking. And keep drinkin' beer. That'll clarify everything.

Done. Promise. Don't lower the boom on me. My intentions are 100% pure.

Hmm, so it does appear that Fox was the first to pick up on it and run with it. It wasn't until later that O'Reilly apologized and admitted he was wrong. I guess there's your "people with an agenda" who "take them at their word without doing any follow up."

And has Fox bothered to report it's their 2nd biggest shareholder who helps fund the "terror mosque"? I find it hilarious that Fox News itself is essentially funding the very thing they spread fear about.

Again, if you read the timeline, Fox was not the first to 'run with it'. Several reporters/newscasters ended up apologizing to Sherrod, including O'Reilly from Fox, Anderson Cooper from CNN, and the White House. Beck defended her and so there was no need for an apology from him.

As far as shareholders views - George Soros could be a shareholder of Fox News on pure financial grounds - it would be a good move since they cream the rest of the White House lapdog press on ratings. IOW, what the shareholders do on other issues is a BS argument. And everyone else except your ilk, obviously, know that. You say you didn't even know about Media Matters or read liberal blogs. Just shows how someone can be ignorant of sources and still be affected by their propaganda. Glad you weren't in Germany during the 30's.

Bile spew? Wow lol, I guess you don't like the OUTSIDE very much. But I like that phrase though. Bile spew, has a nice ring to it. Gonna see how many times I can use it this weekend.:D
