People develop whatever opinion they happen to take on a given subject. Whether it's an ecig, a nicotine inhaler, or a medical device to deliver medicine to the lungs, it's not a cigarette just because it produces a fog that looks like smoke. These same people go to concerts and circuses and see the same PG fog without complaining to management about smoking. I was at the Ringling Brothers circus at the local Centreplex a couple of Saturdays ago and the announcer came on at the beginning of the show and talked about the fog machine that was being used. He explained that the fog was generated using technology that was harmless, non carcinogenic, and wasn't an irritant to the lungs and caused no breathing problems. Not a single person complained as the arena was filled over and over with PG and glycerin based voluminous clouds of fog.
I vaped openly and no one complained. It's all about education and understanding. Some people just hate cigarettes for their own reasons. Maybe they have a relative with emphysema or cancer and hate the cause. Ecigs don't cause the things that they fear. Ecigs are just a weakly understood technology that resembles smoking. Education will solve that problem.
What needs to happen is a series of accepted studies that show ecig vapor to be non toxic and free of particulates that cause health concerns.
