ive only ha one mod , my 1st “mod” (a pen type mod) auto fire on me. Well actually it was on the coffee table and I hadn’t even used it since the night before. I had just sat down when it started firing and did not automatically shut down as it was supposed to. By that time it was beginning to go into thermal overload. Somehow I grabbed it with a cloth and ran onto the deck and chucked across the lawn.

Scared the CRAP out of me. It could’ve exploded and burned down the house!!

Honestly my hands are shaking just remembering the incident. After that I started loosening the atomizer so the mod couldnt detect it and auto fire again. This was suggested to me by a more experienced person here.

I’ve gotten out of that practice again though. Bad me.

I think anyone who’s had that experience is probably a bit gun shy about it happening again.

This is seriously scary. Glad nothing really bad happened to you. We've all seen pictures...

No company, no matter what they make will have a zero failure rate. If they did then I wouldn't have a job doing repairs. If the device has a bad board or something then why not ask for a working unit so you can properly test it. Now if it doesn't perform well then definitely report any issues or defects but how can you review a device that you can't even fire correctly?

Jumping in here - but should it be stated in the review of the 2nd one that it had to be replaced for whatever reason?

As a consumer I would appreciate having that information along side the actual review of the hopefully working 2nd replacement mod.

Just a thought or my two cents worth :2c: lol! I’ve always wanted to use that 2 cents emoji !!

Thanks. I’m not to sure if in hindsight i I should’ve picked it up even with a towel. It was just instinct plus my two elderly yorkies were there with me. Their safety means everything to me!!!

I have no preference. As long as it vapes when I press the button, I'm good. :thumb:

But if I did have a preference, I would like it if one of my mods made a clicky sound 6 seconds before sounding a train air horn. Something like the Viking Horns V101C a train horn kit designed to fit any vehicle, or vape mod. It has three, chrome plated trumpet horns that have the ability to reach 149 decibels.

I would love to pull up behind a bunch of cars at a stop light and give that a go. Take a vape, 6-5-4-3, and then hold it outside the window 2-1.

I had a couple batteries short in an Xtar chargers a few years ago. The batteries went into thermal overload and launched across the garage about 20’ and the charger melted.

wow wow wow! And both battery and charger supposedly have basic safety cut off levels. I wouldn’t trust these things!!!

That’s incredibly scary. Good thing it didn’t start any fires from gasoline or oil stored in your garage!!

When I read that story the first time you posted it, I seriously reconsidered my charging setup. I used to have my charger on a small aluminium plate, but not far from a cotton curtain.
After your story, I moved it to an old disused fireplace and I never charge unless I'm awake and in the house.

2 failures / 2 ok, that's a total fail in my book. A 50/50 kind of mod. What mod you might ask? The Paramour SbS ( ).
True SMT!
Too many bad stories from different sources about the Paramour.
I think Charlie and I got lucky with ours - I'd never recommend it to anybody else.

I also moved my chargers to an outlet with a circuit breaker and non- flammable. And the biggest rule is NEVER to leave it charging if I’m not home or I’m sleeping. Never.

Ugh I’m waiting for a Mechlyf to arrive in the vape mail. I had read and was warned about earlier issues which I’m hoping are just earlier issues that have been resolved.

Can someone tell me again what the issues were with that mod so I can keep an eye out for it? And fingers crossed that it has no issues. Thanks.

I've decided.....the insider is going in the cart today....I've a feeling I'm going to really like this one  sigh :D

Have a good day/evening all

I believe you will be satisfied ;). In boro tank no problem. I love it . Tomorrow I'll try to the Abyss. Slight condensation (after 3 fillings).

Morning shinies ;)

Buttons straw poll!
Since we all like different things, I'm curious. I love quieter buttons over loud clicky-clacky ones.

I think it's in part due to me working with 1500 noisy clicky-clucky-clacky chickens
I like them to be clicky and easy to find by feel. I keep trying to fire the Brunhilde SBS and missing....for example. I don't like clacky (loud) though. A bit of resistance is good....gives you the confidence that the firing mechanism on the board isn't going to get stuck :)

That's scary, it made me pull the batteries out of my mods so I could sleep better. Also makes me want a couple more mech squonks.:)

I agree, I don't like clichy-clacky. I like to feel the click with my finger and a clicky fire-bar I really don't like.

I've got four and they've all been fine so the failures are going down in percentage rate.

Having said that all the talk about bad ones has made me screw my atties on them carefully....mind you I'm kind of like that with any perceived weak point on most things :wub::evil::nun:

I love the way it sits in the Boro :thumb:

Condensation....hmmh anyone that tells you that there's never any is lying :D But what none of us do is take our finger off the firing button just before the end of our puff....which expels all the vapour....it works :)

It will be interesting to see it in the Abyss too.... excellent looking bridge
