It must be Nostalgia Day.
Did some clean up of the vape pile today and found this. Made it right after I started vaping, designed to hold two Spinners which is all I had at the time. Being tall and thin they tended to fall over a lot. Probably thought I would be using Spinners for the rest of my life. Guess I threw it in the tub when I started using regular mods.
The second pic is a pen holder. Vaguely similar but 60 years older. It was the first thing I ever made at school woodworking class when I was 12. My dad was a woodworker himself, he saved it and presented it to me 20 years later. Can't throw it out, my descendants will probably take one look and chuck it in the trash when I'm gone. I put my original 60's fountain pen on it for the pic, which I also can't bring myself to throw out. I still remember buying it at the pen shop with my pocket money.
I don't think many kids make stuff out of wood any more. Too busy figuring out the new app on their phone.
