Second L is redundant so it's optional. Either way is shiny.

The shiny bottom is hit directly by the air but the crusty top doesn't get good airflow, different positioning could get you a better performance.
Sooner or later your coil will get gunky but you can make sure it's "later".

Anyone have a Bellus rta. Does it leave spray on you mod? Remember reading good things about those.
does it taste burnt or overly sweet? Sweet juices can do that. Coil position also makes a big difference. I have had a few that caramelized the wicks on me even with a competition cap. If sweet juice is the reason your drop in coils probably looked like that but you just couldnt see it. DIY will definitely improve that. Even juice I make that I consider sweet never really caramelizes or builds up carbon on the coils.Is it the sweetener in the juice that does that???? Airflow is wide open (innokin ares, only tank to get here so far)... the juice is a fig/cucumber/hibiscus/honeysuckle juice.
Less cotton? I cut a strip about 1/8-1/4” off the sheet... had that coil 1.04 ohms at 12 watts. Already a cool temp vape
I saw nasty and immediately disassembled
... next time I will save you pictures of the grossness if you like. Maybe it’s just the Ares? Have a Siren 2 and beserker coming
So a sweet juice. Play with coil position and wicking, might be able to get you an extra day or two before needing to clean or recoil. Wire is cheap, when I was still using single wire builds I usually just wrapped another coil.
