The Luna's use two female/female standoffs. Yours just spun because the screw/standoff on the opposite side was spinning. You didn't bore out the hole and you didn't need Loctite. All you needed to do was hold the screw in place on the opposite side and it would have screwed in perfectly.

I thought the same as you with mine. Until I discovered the standoffs. Once I knew those were there all good.

If you dismantle it just remember the standoffs are there. Easy once you know they're there.
Standoffs? I don't know what these are. What do you mean by "hold the screw in place on the opposite side"? Do you mean the corresponding screws on the top (or bottom)?

I'm such a dummy when it comes to this stuff.

This is a female/female standoff. Screws go in both ends.

The Luna has two standoffs running the height of the Luna. On the one you thought you bored out it likely just spun in place or didn't grab at all. Holding the opposite end screw in place while you screw the other screw in works. That's how I did mine. It took me a little time to get it.

Also you do not need to coat your Luna board. I talked to asMODus techs today and learned the board is coated. So you are fine with those.

I find the squonk bottle setup on the Luna incredibly messy. I watched several build/review videos on it prior to buying it and they all seemed to agree that getting the squonk bottle in or out isn’t as good as I could/should be.

I think a couple of the Lunatics were discussing one of those 510 squonk refill bottles where just the atty it taken offf and it’s refilled from the top.

I haven’t seen any follow ups on that method so maybe one of them could jump in and describe it better than I’m doing.
I don't find the Luna tube/bottle hard to remove and I don't have a mess. Sometimes I use a Stentorian refill bottle. I wait until the squonk bottle is just about empty before refilling. Many times I will just pull the bottle out to refill and I don't end up with a mess either. Sometimes I leave the atty on and other times I take it off. When I take the rda off I put some paper towel in the 510 before pulling the bottle. Any juice gets absorbed into the paper towel. No mess.
I hope that helps you. :)

When I took out the screws on the Luna I'm buffing, I couldn't budge one on the bottom plate. The other came out easily, but when i went to put it back in it just spun and spun. It wasn't stripped, but removing it apparently bored out the hole to the point where there was nothing for it to grip. I ended up treating it with some Loctite and was able to get it to screw into place, but the experience makes me nervous about any more disassembling.

That said, coating the mosfet sounds like a smart move, so I'll get to work building up my gumption.

Ah, gotcha. I don't notice it when I'm vaping and like having confirmation that I've turned it on and off. Plus I find the blue "off" light soothing. Simple pleasures.

Plus the light is so small and mostly under my hand when vaping. Seeing the green light actually gives me a small bit of comfort before I put it next to my face and press the Fire button!!

I used tape but ended up buffing it and some of the black right off before I noticed. On my other five, I'm going to start by sanding away all the black like @charlie1465 did before I get to shining up the stabwood.

Zazie if you’re referring to the black metal frame just go to an auto shop that carry touch up pens. I have some old ones I bought for little scratches etc. they come in all colors and shiny or matte finish. Just use a tiny amount to cover where the paint rubbed off.

They’re relatively cheap and might be good to have on hand. I guess model paint would do the same thing but might be harder to control the amount of paint.

I think the problem I had was the bottle wasn’t empty when I decided I wanted to use a different flavor. There was probably about a 1/4 of e juice still in the bottle and of course as soon as I grabbed it to pull it out- well you guessed it - juice everywhere.

Then I wasn’t quite sure what to do with the tube while I’m refilling it. The only other squonker I have is a Squeeze 2 and it’s so simple to just pull down on the bottle and the connection and tubing stay put.

I suppose once you’ve done it several times it gets easier. I just wasn’t prepared after using just the Squeeze 2 as reference.

Thanks for the tip!

I think my shiny issue is is that I haven’t seen anything shiny that I’ve just had to have! Everything seems the same just slightly different colors or shape etc... especially all those pods!

I stopped my YT subscriptions to a lot a reviewers because 90% of the reviews are on pods. I think they’re great for their purpose but as a vaper “hobbiest” I have absolutely no interest in them at all.

Of course that could change over time but for now I don’t want to watch yet another review of a pod.

Anyways that’s all I’ve got. Hope everyone has a great night and weekend!!

I've buffed off so much of the black, I don't think a touch-up pen would be up for the job. And I can't take sandpaper to this one without mucking up all the polishing I've already done. I just going to have to learn to love the distressed look. I'll do better with the next five.

Note for all who have a Luna squonker(s)...

The Luna uses the UL-80-JX chipset.

I just got off the phone with asMODus. The chipset IS coated. The four solder joints on the chip are uncoated. If a little liquid, or juice, got on those, or the board, it will be fine. That comes directly from the support staff and their experience repairing Luna's.

IMO from taking one of mine apart it would be very difficult to get juice into where the board is located. The design is solid and the compartment where the board is located is sealed off nicely.

If one of your Luna's ever goes belly up they do offer a board replacement service.
It's $30 for them to replace it (shipping extra).

I hope you also told them that the Colossal (and Luna) is the best thing since sliced bread! ;)

Awesome to know about the chip safety and that it is already coated -Luna the kitty thanks you on behalf of all us Lunatics :thumb:

I'm only on Day 3 of the Luna ;) I just pinch the bottle at the side and wiggle/pull it down. It's a bit like getting out of a pair of tight tight skinny jeans - which I only wore once BTW purely for that reason :p

Now that I've spammed the Shiny thread here are some bovine pics :D

Meredith, Robin and Bobby is the baby asleep. I wanted to wake him up but:

When your mother Missy is this fat, big and stroppy, you don't wake up the baby! ;)

More pics of an awake Bobby to come over the weekend. He is doing amazing. Missy is a fantastic Mum, and Meredith and Robin play the Aunty & Uncle role. When I left them, Robin was curled up asleep beside Bobby

I told them that while slicing bread!!! I also suggested they change the name of the Luna because there is a cat in NZ named Luna who is not very happy about a squonker named Luna. :p
    Onward Lunatics!!!

I just recently bought a Stealth Procyon with extension tube. It is sweet looking but now I’m trying to find a matte black rba for it. I bought a black Tauren solo. It’s not quite matte but it might work or a black entheon. If you have any suggestions send them my way.

IIRC the Procyon is just a little under 23mm in diameter. So unless you want a 'lollipop' tube mod that leaves out all the 24mm or larger atty's. 23mm BF RDA's are probably pretty scarce now days, especially matte black ones. So it comes down what is still available now days either new or used off classifieds. Offhand I can only think of a couple of 23's but have no idea if they are offered in matte black (Legend and Scar). Your road to success might be to look at the 22mm BF RDA's... I know some of them are matte black and many are at least black.
I have lots of black BF atty's from 18mm to 25mm (especially 24"s and 25's), but in 22mm matte black BF RDA's I can only remember having Wasp Nano, Solo, Serpent BF and a couple of Hadlays (one with matte black cap, the other SS), and a black Pulse. Probably have several more, but they have been out of sight out of mind boxed away for a long time. Remember seeing others that were matte black but never had them... CoilArt Dpro Mini, Pixie, GR1, and I'm sure others as well I don't remember now, sorry. I'm old, started switching to BF mesh RDA's and RTA's only about 2 years ago, so eventually didn't pay much attention to coil atty's anymore.

Only picture found with a matte Solo on the left and a matte Wasp Nano on the right (with an extension DT added to help control the spit back from my supper low builds in it).

I'll get some better landscape pics. I'm living in a basin surrounded by amazing mountains and hills.

Yep, but I'm pretty sure he's a steer (deknackered bull calf) - I'll ask him ;)
