I'm waiting to see what my replacement Luna will look like.I don't even know what color they sent even though I asked for the same purple as the one they're replacing. And I sanded and polished up the autofire one. I guess if I don't like the new wood I could swap internals, but that's a fair amount of work and I'd need refreshing on soldering before doing it. Sanding and polishing would be a lot less hassle.

I received a Bohr pod system to review from Vaporl. It's a beautiful looking pod, very sleek and understated. First impression on vaping it with a "dl" mesh coil it comes with (there's also a 1.2 ohm ceramic mtl coil I will also have to get to) is this thing is very impressive. I didn't have high expectations (it is a pod, and pod from a new manufacturer for me) but color me surprised. If it keeps up first impressions this may turn into an interesting review.

I'm doing alright.. about to shore up my nicotine supplies and then say done is done, that is all she wrote..

my husband is getting laid off, so dealing with the concern that at our age this is probably it. He's 58, and laid off at 58 is never good..

But other than that doing really good.. :)

Just have nicotine on my mind lately.. I think we could make a country music song out of that.. haha
Sorry to hear that boots.
But you do have a decent shiny stash, reach your hand in and just grab something every couple months. Be just like getting new shinies!

Dont be a stranger.....
I dont post as much as i used to, but I lurk alot lol.

Note to Shiny's everywhere:

sourcemore will be holding its 5th year anniversary sale running between 23 Sept. - 27 Sept. and are advertising it as their "Biggest Sale Ever" (per the advert they sent). :)

You got a great color combination! Those colors look fantastic!!! You couldn’t have picked a better color choice. I’m kinda envious lol!!!

Thanks. I hope you get yours soon. :D

Question for you. On your red Luna you posted in the photo of the day did you sand and polish it? It really looks super shiny and stunning. The colors pop brilliantly on yours.

Everyone sanding and polishing theirs is making me feel like a serious slouch. I need to read up and get going. Although from what @charlie1465 posted I should start with 200 and move up to 10000 grit. Charlie didn't you say you used your drill and velcro padded sanders on your Luna versus hand sanding?

I thought I saved all the info somewhere, hmmm. I'm pretty sure @Fidola13 said all this info is in the stabwoods thread too. I need to head over there...

You could try just the mineral oil then wipe it off to get those colors even brighter. I’d try that before getting into anything more involved. It’s really a beautiful stabwood.

If you go to the 1st color of pages on the stabwood thread there are several different suggestions and ideas on brightening up the colors a bit. One of the simplest is the mineral oil treatment or even lemon/orange wood polish then buff to a shine.

If you want to really get into a more involved process that’s also detailed in the thread as well.

Please post pics of anything you do. It really is a beautiful mod.

What was wrong with the Luna you received? It was auto firing? That’s a bit concerning on a semi regulated or really any mod imo.

Yup. All polished and shiny, popped the battery in and autofire. Tried it again, same thing. Contacted Sourcemore and after some back and forth emails they're sending a replacement.

I tried it again a few days ago to see if I could get a video of it, but it worked OK.

While I was very careful with everything taped over during the finishing, including the button (which resulted in a little dull area around it, but I wanted to be safe), it's possible a tiny amount of the beeswax and orange oil polish I used to finish it off may have gotten into the button. It was not very viscous wax, so it's possible, and then dried out over the week or so sitting around. Still, I don't trust it after that and am not using it, so fingers crossed I like the stab wood on the new one as much, because the one I got was gorgeous.

I did the micro mesh, it worked well but my hands paid for it. Did the same on the resin Stentorian RAM I picked up and that came out beautifully. Just needed to rest my hands for a while. I'm now able to cut my food myself again so things are looking up.

Yeah, I did a relatively fast sanding/meshing by hand. I believe I started with 320, then 400, then went through the micro-mesh pads: 1500-12000 (1500 micro-mesh is roughly equivalent to 400 standard sandpaper grit I think, and 4000 micro-mesh is equal to 1500 standard sandpaper). A bit of oil before and/or after sanding (many recommend butchers block oil, but I used coconut oil) will deepen the colors, and then buff in a light rubbing of conservator's wax (or renaissance wax, depending where you are).
Thank you. Info saved. I appreciate it.
I Love Love your new Luna, it's Magnificent:wub:
And the Sourcemore sale should work out Great for me, my MTL Valkyrie is due in stores in September;)
Thank you. I hope you get your Luna tomorrow. Can't wait to see it.

    That’s GORGEOUS!!!
Thank you NolaMel. Do you have any Luna's? Maybe I should have asked if you squonk first.

Thanks Sara. It's funny because after Ange received her purple one I ordered mine and then totally forgot I ordered it until it arrived today. I've been after a decent 1 of 1 purple Luna but asMODus has had a very reduced and underwhelming selection for some time.

Thank you for that too. I will try orange wood polish first, I have that, great idea. And I keep forgetting about the stabwoods thread, what a nutcase. And I have many threads bookmarked. I'm a dork. o_O

My day was okay with despite some suckage I would normally complain about. My coffee was not made, despite fixing the timer. It is possible I did not plug it in all the way. So then I made kettle coffee with my pourer thing and I spilled that entire mug almost at once, so I had to make more.

This all conspired to make me late, but like, I was like "Well 10 minutes less of yoga is only 10 minutes less and just carried on. I ended up finishing anyway because I was like "I bet I can get ready with my morning routine in less than 10 minutes." I will say, I am going to not punch an MA but she is so freaking passive aggressive I want to. I may have a talk with her and be like, "Look if we can't resolve this we are going to have to go to your boss. I'm sorry, this is just flat out passive aggressiveness OR laziness OR both, but I will not be tolerating it."

I am a provider I do get to heft my weight around occasionally. They are training a bunch of new staff because they are short support staff so I may let it go for a bit. But, I'm keeping a log.

Also I am actively SURPRSIED if anyone opens a darn chart for me.... Ever. They know they are supposed to but I have to go there with a list and go "CAN you please open these charts?"

IDK it was an okay day and I'm pretty tranquil about it. I should eat. I have a JAQ B arriving, yay! I gave in.

I cannot find my kabuki adaptor ANYWHERE but the space (that contains my vape stuff) a room, well there's a lot of "anywhere" to be sifted through. I would also settle for my beater stealth P3 but like that is ALSO in a lot of anywhere. And, it's black.

    Hmm.

I'm looking for the Kayfun of RDAs, something that will last forever (well, a long, long time) and mimic the draw of a Kayfun. Does such an animal exist? I have a long list of MTL RDAs, many of which I've already purchased, and I know or at least suspect that they are more likely to keep going for a long time than RTAs, because they're simpler machines, but I'd like to get a bunch of solid, durable, reliable RDAs for the vapeocalypse hoard, and I know you helpful souls will have suggestions.

And, with that run-on sentence, I leave this in your capable hands.
I have no idea what you already have. Do you have the Cthulhu 1928 ? The OG Magma RDA is hefty and a nice dual post with tight draw. My Origen Little keeps puffin' along. Idk how much money you want to spend but the Italian line of MTL RDAs is great and made well. You can still find some clones for them.

Oh, that Squeeze looks awesome. :D And in purple. You are killin' me with the purple mods and dt's.
    I know payback is a b---itch ... and I deserve it.
I see the Pico Squeeze works with Arctic Fox, nice. Did you put AF on it and are you squonking in TC yet?

As soon as my v1 RDAs turn up it will be the first thing I do. Then I can have a true battle of a Luna vs Squeeze 2 :sneaky:

I've been playing with builds in the Luna for the past week. It's a toss up between a 5 wrap 30*2/40 clapton @ 0.5 ohms or a 6 wrap 28ga @ 0.65 ohms. I think I prefer the single coil in an unregulated, it's a cooler vape and hits faster. But the clapton coil will be perfect in TC mode on the Squeeze 2 :thumb:

    I am truly honored. :nun:

I feel special now. :rickroll::banana:
Though I will not be giving up one of my favorite mods. :p
You can leave it ... I know it was a flub.

I found it :p(eventually :p) and yes it was a flub - if that is internet lingo for a :censored: up ;)
