I've had stabwoodyitis since I first saw an Asmodus Luna mod - back then I knew I'd never be able to afford/justify one at $100.

But at $35? Hell YES :w00t:

I fell in love with the Luna the first time I saw it. At the time I did not squonk and did not like that t was unregulated. But I said Luna three times and one magically appeared. Since then they’ve multiplied a bit. Zero regrets.

I know they have their quirks, but they’re just so darned charming.

I just wrote a post in the new squonkers thread about how I prefer a Luna over a TC Squeeze 2  I don't know what the heck they have in that UL-80-JX Chipset - but for an unregulated it is just AWESOME.

I'm also very very glad to see it is the same chip set used in the Asmodus Pumper - I was going to order another Luna, but Sourcemore had sold out, and they were back to full price at CVapor (where I got mine).

I LOVE the look of the Pumper 18, so seeing it at 3fvape for $49.99 sealed the deal ;)

What is it about the Luna that makes it great? I’ve seen the way people post about it but haven’t gotten deep enough into looking it up to know. I think I remember it going for $80ish? Given the May thing I’m trying to make note of “lifetime” mods/attys. The Luna is the one everybody polishes when they get right?

Thanks @DeloresRose, the Glaz V1.1 makes the LV Drone almost look like a Pico though. Still got to experiment with it further, but it certainly is of interest to folks who like a big space to build in and a decent juice well.

Hope everything is as well as it can be for you.

It does seem that the Luna is responsible for a number of people's first steps into the twilight zone unregulated zone ...

And, of course, the Luna is an attractive and affordable stabwood mod ... quite the lure for unsuspecting vapers --- some of whom were not only reluctant to try unregulated (or, gasp! mechanical) vaping, but had actively avoided the whole squonking quagmire as well. Alas, poor souls, you've stepped in it now ...

 Guilty as charged - didn't need a squonk mod. And I certainly never ever would've liked an unregulated mod  I'm definitely loving the twilight Luna zone now however ;)

Some people polish them, and do an amazing job - mine is au naturale, except for an oil and buff ;)

For me, it is the lightness, it's comfy to hold and use - and most importantly it vapes awesomely :thumb:

And Sourcemore now have more in stock at $29.99

I like the looks of course, feels great in hand, small and light, nice squishy bottle. Simple. Better battery life than anything comparable I own.

It’s like all gear though, it either calls you or it doesn’t.

I do love the stabwood and I love that at this price point anyone can play. And it’s not like it’s junk. It’s a very nice bit of kit.

When I check out the chart on the Sourcemore page it has “Atomizer resistance range .1-2.5” and then below it says “Resistance range .1-3 ohm”, what is the difference here? I’m reading it as saying two different ranges for the same thing.

This is an “unregulated” mod but with protections right?

This is an “unregulated” mod but with protections right?

The Luna UL-80-JX chipset has the following protections...

    1. Reverse polarity; 2. Low Voltage Protection; 3. Cut Off Timer; 4. Atomizer Short Detection; 5. Overheating prevention

Negative Polarity; the LED will flash green when you install the battery correctly, the LED will not flash if installed incorrectly. (reverse polarity protection)

When the user’s battery hits 3.3v the mod will shut off, protecting the mod, battery health and most importantly, the user; the LED will flash RED five times indicating your battery is at 3.3v. (low voltage protection)

The mod will automatically shut off when firing the mod for over 10 seconds to prevent any auto-firing moments. (cut off timer)

The LED will flash red if the Luna detects a short in the user’s atty. (Short circuit protection)

When the Luna Squonker mod reaches over 85 degrees, the mod will shut off automatically to prevent any accidents. (thermal protection)

The LED flashes indifferent combinations when some of the protections that are built into the mod are triggered. For instance, if it flashes the blue light 3 times and stops working, that means that the over limit protection was hit. When the red light flashes 5 times, that means the low voltage protection was triggered. When the red light flashes 5 times and the mod stops working, that means that the overload protection was triggered. If the mod flashes 5 times when you hit the fire button, that means that the short circuit protection was triggered. If the mod flashes 6 times, that means the temperature was too high and the mod will not work. If the mod does not fire at all, it probably means you have the battery in the wrong way and the reverse protection kicked in.

I been so bad lately. I recently bought the drop solo rda, the drop rda, a bonza mech kit, AND a limited edition bonza mech kit, ANOTHER noisy cricket (I already have 3), 10 new 21700 batteries all within a week. :(

Im hurting here. I'm trying so hard to resist buying DIY accessories as I want to get into making my own juice.

Thanks @charlie1465, I was just trying to find a dual coil RDA with good airflow (side and under coil). Just there's not many if any smaller on the market.

The Recurve dual’s air hits the bottom/side (not under) of the coil - I just got mine, but I built it single.

And I have a couple of these, really like them although I prefer a single coil.

    Stainless Steel Brushed Unicorn RDA

You could look at the Axial as well, but I find that difficult to build with the shared posts. Nice vape but I dread putting coils in it, lol.

There’s an initial investment for DIY, but you’ll soon recoup that and save money- money you can spend on vape gear.

My first purchase I spent under $40. I was paying $12 a 120 ml for juice, and made about twice as much juice - good, vapeable stuff- as I could’ve bought for the money, even considering a few were not good and got pitched.

And that was buying the less cost effective smallest bottles I could find.
