Well I’m happy to say that it’s not me not knowing how to get the red Topside to squonk. I setup the silver one I got last week and it works like a charm. I’ll have to fiddle a bit with the red one. If I can’t get it to work correctly I’ll request a replacement. I think I got it at MVPro or something like that.

I may like this squonking stuff after all. Who knew? This pic makes it look off white because of my room lighting but it’s actually a slightly sparkled silver. That’s a Dead Rabbit SQ on it in matte black. Really enjoying it. It will be nice to have a few with different flavors in them.

When I used RDAs I can't say I went through all that.

I'd cut a length and pinch off a bit. Usually it was snug but not right. I do the same with the AIO. Use my vape Shears to thin a little, not as much as I had to with cotton. Trim and tuck

I find it easier as I don't have to guess and cut off of a pad. It threads easier for me, just roll a bit like cotton. The biggest difference I note is it "breaks in" much quicker, 1-2 hits, lasts longer and I feel it wicks better than cotton. For me it's not as fussy as cotton was.

To each his own though.

Yeah maybe i've just become lazy. I'll rewicked my RDAs and give it a go again.
I'm just so used to flying a shoelace cotton in there and slap the top on

LoL that brings back memories. I was a hardcore MTL for the first two years. Didn't want anything to do with the cumulus croud
I bought a little Derringer RDA to test my diy concoctions. When I lit that thing up, another world opened up for me.
I realised then that flavor equals air. Never went back to MTL again, although I still would prefer to do that. When I discovered flavor...I wanted more, and MTL can't give that to me.

longer than recommended and i drop in a bunch. it's not like it never works__ just don't get why it don't work sometimes



theyre //were shoeslace cotton. COTN and Wotofo.. sure they can be thicker or thinner than they should but not by much. the normal assumption would be indeed, i'm not finding the right middle ground between too thick and too thin. but i could swear it's got omething to do with the inhalation, at least the primers, or the threads not being combed right. btw i've failed more often with COTN than with wotofo_ like CTON was actually not thick enough...

i'm pretty much out of ideas. basically spend a hundred hours or so between wicking and thinning. was going by keep going until it works_ until it didn't work anymore and i ran out of thread. buy stuff tomorrow.

i discovered one trick that seems to predict if the cotton inside the coil is choked: when i drip and start firing, i inhale the vapour from above the deck, if it's dry/makes me cough then it's choked. i don't know how to de-choke a coil though, how to pull out the right amount of thread without breaking the whole wick apart. this also doesn't predict if the wick is too thin for the tank..

that's what's funny abt the MD. wick seemed alright until i put on the tank and it was really tight and just burnt quickly. i uncovered it and it was no longer vaporizing right. long enough fire and i think the cotton almost lit up, suspected it's because it's touching the posts but that doesn't make sense. it's really leaky if the wick isn't thick enough to prevent it. but 1-1.10 ohm at 14 is enough to burn it.

btw, i've joined the my-vaporesso-gen-reads-a-+.15ohm-resistance club. yippie.

i wanna say i'm wondering why i didn't cross over to squonk-rda's directly if they avoid the wicking issue, but i'm sure i'd find trouble there too.

need to replenish my lung cells to for the morrow's fires.

Rudy isn’t doing well today. I considered getting him to the vet, but I’m going to wait till Monday, see if he rallies. He’s a tough old thing. Might just be having a bad day. I have a few things I’m supposed to do the next few days, going to cancel and stay home.

That's interesting because the best throat hit and flavour I can get here is with my Ataman V2 atty. It's so intensely concentrated....

Having said that you do immediately get better flavour with an RDA because it's a more direct kind of vape

Hello Charlie! I was actually thinking of you when w was typing that post! How are you? And don’t say “fine”! I always tell people “I’m fine” when things aren’t fine lol! So no self editing. Is being home feeling good. When I’ve been in there hospital for any length of time I actually kind of miss it. Probably because I get 3 meals a day. I don’t cook so I eat a lot of cereal and pop tarts!! Plus there’s structure. Being out of work for so long can be monotonous and days just blur together. And there are people to talk to which I don’t get at home. Sounds stupid and silly I know. Of course I’ve never been hospitalized for as long as you have been.

What have you been doing to keep your mind at least busy? I don’t know how much if any physical activities you can do without getting fatigued.

Do you family or friends where you are? That helps a lot for most people.

So I imagine you came home to a lot of vape mail to open. What was the BIGGEST shiny you received?

Lol! I kinda did the same thing but in a faster way. I bought a vape pen for my 1st vape device. I lasted 2 weeks on that and once I got my hands on a revenger mini with a sub ohm tank I thought I was heaven. By the end of the month I had bought my first external box mods a Sense V Jet and a Revenger. And I haven’t looked back. I did try to get back into MTLing when I bought several low wattage Provaris. I failed at it. The flavor and dense vape was just incredible!

At about year 1 I bought 2 Pico Squeezers which worked great but I had been dripping for awhile and I preferred dripping because I was making my own juice and changed up flavors ALL DAY long so squonking just didn’t make sense.

After breaking my hip it was difficult to drip and making my own juice so I was using mostly RTAs which I needed to keep refilling. So now squonking makes sense for me now since I’m still having trouble getting and moving around so not having to refill all day having a couple of squonks ready to go will save me from moving around a lot and hurting my hip.

Sorry about giving you my story of vaping lol! But that’s how I got here to squonking. I still have the Picos but they’re just a bit awkward for me to use. These Topsides are perfect for my vaping needs right now. I also bought a Delta Reverant but I having used it yet. So now this girl who’s been saying squonking has no place in my vaping - she now has about 10 of them lol! I bought 3 Luna’s because I love the stabwood but haven’t used it much but I’m excited about using a fully regulated squonk mod.

I’ll definitely report back here if I find the reason it’s not working. There were several like 5-6 people on Reddit that had the same problem. One was missing an o ring on the top plastic cap off the tube. It was something abt it not sealing completely so it didn’t create a vacuum or maybe it was the other way around lol! So that be the 1st thing I’ll check on. I’m not going to frustrate myself trying to find the problem. If I don’t I’ll just return/ replace it.

Would you DM me some of the vendors you’re using? It’s frustrating to spend a lot of time filling the shopping cart only to have it denied at the Checkout! I’ll send you the couple of vendors I’ve had good luck with. One of them is VaporDNA. I’ll check on the spelling of that site. I’ve got a couple more I’ll send to you this weekend when I can look thru my vape Mail folder.
