Good to know about the wicking. Have you had any problems with a coil shorting? I redid mine this morning with a 2.5mm id 30*2/40 8 wrap, and it shorted like it was 1999. It was only when I popped the tank on - so I cut my leads shorter, still shorted. Squished the coil down lower - shorted. Raised it higher - shorted. Threw it out the window - shorted!

I looked at the chimney size and saw how small that was, and rewound a 7 wrap with the wraps a smidge off a contact coil. Stuck it in, cut the leads flush, wicked, stuck the tank on, fired - and it didn't short :w00t:

Yesterday's coil was the same width, and I had no problems with that shorting. But with me, who knows what was causing it to short. The fact that I was building at 3am, with blurry eyes - possibly didn't help

Coil no. 3 has behaved flawlessly today. And I want another Box and Qbix!
I've never had a problem with shorting, but also never used a 7 wrap. Sounds like you've got it sorted. The wick channels are also coil rod guides so there's not much danger of the coil shorting on the chimney roof if you keep the coil in that plane.

That old 3am, blurry-eyed build has probably seen most of us come unstuck. I've made a pact with myself - never build after 2:45am :D

    That's my new motto!

And you were right about the flavour from the Qbix. I've got a caramel in now, that only the Dvarw would bring out its gooeyness - it tastes just as good in a Qbix.

Happy New Year to all the shiny people. May our differences continue to make us unique. May our shared love of a hobby keep us all friends. Maybe we continue to treat each other with respect despite our different viewpoints on religion, politics, how good the darn Brunhilde is, etc. lol

That picture reminds me of a show called little bear that my kids watched when they were little.

    Morning Shinies...

Happy new year....all be it a bit belatedly
Well all going well here so far. My two new Cabeo's have arrived but God only knows where my SM order is.....usual shenanigans....still says 'in preparation'

Put in a new flavour order so not really shiny but they'll end up in something shiny so I guess that counts.

Have a good day? ....all

I claim flavours, drip tips, wire, cotton and even VG as shiny. And with what I've bought lately, the above are all I'm going to buy.

    Maybe :D

I must have completely missed the release of this dead rabbit r tank.

I have a couple coils that do what this does but I don't like to waste coils. It doesn't matter if I have a thousand of them I want to preserve each one to the best of my ability. And I was having a little bit of a struggle reusing those mesh coils because you had to cut the legs and bend one and it just never went back in quite right.

But this thing doesn't require that. And it's cheap. So I go searching and lo and behold not only did I find that but I found one in pre-release that has 95(!!) mesh leggy coils and cotton.

I've been looking for a bulk purchase of mesh with legs for those coils had previously mentioned with the rebuildable mesh and the little legs. Even without the tank I would have jumped on this for under $40. Estimated time of shipping February 2nd well we know that's not going to happen from a Chinese site That's Chinese New Year so I anticipate in a couple months I'll have something to share lol
