Guess I should elaborate on the ring....

It's like a washer, put the flat side down so it grips the base and not the mouthpiece as you screw it off...

(Most people don't even know washers have two sides created when they are pressed out. One flat and sharp, the other sides rounded where the tool presses it out. )

Earlier tonight I replaced my good working 0.6 ohms 32 gauge dual coil setup with a 0.8 30 gauge dual coil setup, now I have to do the warm up drag thing again. In the morning when I get home from work I'll do it over using 32 gauge resister wire and shoot for about 0.6 again. This in on an Ithaka but I think it's close to on topic.

While 0.2 difference doesn't sound like much is is quite a few watts different but I think my problem lies more with the wire size than watts.
Well maybe it is the wattage difference, 6 watts about
And maybe this would be closer to being on topic if I posted to the thread that I thought that I was in, all them pictures of Terminators got me confused. LOL

Saw your post in the mkb thread about the double coils. I cant recall if you already went into that further but i have a couple questions about them. In your post you mention dual coils @.6 ohm. I'm assuming there are two 1.2 ohm coils. But here's my question, do you have two coils wrapped around the same wick or two coils and two wicks with one set of "legs" running down the channels?

They are two completely separate wicks @ 1.2 ohm each, my channels are widened with a Dremel, I was hoping to use 3 mm Ecowool but the Ecowool still was too big for my ceramic's channels so I did the dual coil/wick thing. I should have done it month ago as it is very effective.

The wicks are side by side touching each other, up one side, across the top and down the other side.

Can't say MM's for sure on my Cotton, but it's aprox. 2mm wide unless you stretch it out. I'm using 4 strands at the coil and two running down the channels. Everything is closed up by the wick.

Easiest thing to do to tell if your o-rings are busted - or if you have a leak somewhere is to assemble again like normal but DO not fill with juice . Use it as a dripper for about 30 min. Drip 5 drops through the mouth piece and vape and if you're getting gurgling maybe your coil is too low in the ceramic which doesn't give enough airflow or maybe your wicks need to be re- charged . Start there to at least eliminate a point of weakness .

A lot of OEM ody fan boys drip a few drops down the MP if they haven't used it in a few hours to kick start flow also . But your issue isn't dryness it's gurgle .

I have A feeling there is not enough room between the bottom of the coil and the hole to the ceramic for airflow .

Try dripping for a little and report results

But, I have also ground down the oversized base of the mouthpiece removing all of the knurling. With that removed, it might be helping to stop that as there isn't an edge there to catch on the knurling of the ring.

I just took about half the thickness of the mouthpiece base off mine too recently, definitely well worth doing for other VG fans out there.

RE Tobeco ceramic housing has a slightly smaller hole in the center where the center pin passes through. I of coarse Dremeled it out a little larger on the one that I got and put it in one of my Terms, it is the best one that I have, thread spec wise it's right on.
My everyday juice is TPA original carmel, favorite tobacco flavor is TPA DK Tobacco which doesn't taste much like Dekang DK TAB which I like real well also but can't buy the exact pure flavoring. Mine is all DIY juice made for about $3.10 per 30 ml. I buy the nic base by the liter from VIP Vapor and the flavoring in 120 ml bottles from The Perfume Apprentice

So I decided to adjust the wraps on my coil, even up the space between the wraps, I'd push them over and they would spring back.
Then I thought I'd do it with them glowing red, the bad part is I used a wooden toothpick, I ended up with camp fire flavored vape.
The burnt wood taste got into the wick and ceramic or something, I had to throw the juice out and clean and dry burn it again.
Just ranting.

Thanks UA72Riddle. I realized this with flat washers - bite side & finish side as we say in the trades. However, I didn't consider it here on my atomizers (duh). I will add this to my arsenal of Terminator know-how.

So I've had my Term v2 for a little over a week now... my issue is with vapor production. Flavor is there, sometimes too much...

Sure you're not flooding? I can't see how you'd have flavor w/o vapor unless you're getting too much juice, which might be extinguishing your coil although not enough to cause gurgling. Just guessing.

It may be helpful to put the atty on another device if available. If it performs better on another mod, then you know to troubleshoot volt drop on your segeli. If the problem follows the atty then troubleshoot it.

OK, I am majorly confused..

I've been following ody/nautilus thread and chat for weeks. I've been told to run screaming from Tobeco products.. I see: Stormy sells the Terminator v2 and now the Euforia; Vapour Trend has the Nautilus v2 and Terminator (v1?); OKC has the Nautilus (v1?).

Meanwhile. the names they use are all mutable, the version numbering isn't always listed, and I have no idea wh
o is actually making which.

Could anyone illuminate me and point at which Terminator and naughty-Nauty is made by which firm? So I can at least insure I get whichever model whomever is selling?

Thanks!

You just blew my mind...I've been misusing washers my entire life...haha.

I think you've just solved my intermittent leaking issues.

Picked up some 1mm ekowool from Stormy's to mess with in my v2 term-c. Made a dual coil, each with 3 wick sections (2 short, 1 long) and each with 1.8 ohms of 32g kanthal (was shooting for ~.9 ohms).

Got everything together sans tank and mouthpiece and metered it at 2.7 ohms

I said #$^* it, put it completely together anyway, filled and fired resulting in instant vapor and flavor (no heat-up lag). Pulled it back off my mod, and metered it again: .5 ohms

So my question: is this build safe? Nothings getting hot (button, etc.), lots of vapor, flavor has just a tinge of 'burnt', and the .5 ohms is solid (no jumping around). But are the amps too high (AW P18500 in a mechanical, I've also got AW IMR18490 I could use as well)? And what was with the initial 2.7?

Thanks!

I think I am gonna order the Euphoria tomorrow. Who has one, and what do you NOT like about ti?

I feel like I keep saying this in this thread, but there's NOTHING I don't like about the Euforia. It's brilliantly machined, looks great, sets up easily and vapes excellently. The one thing I would change: they put an o-ring in the bottom of the ceramic, and I ruined my original ceramic heating it over the stove flame because I didn't realize it was there. Good thing I had ordered two extras at a couple bucks a piece. After watching Scott's review of the Penelope and realizing there's no o-ring in the ceramic, I've used it without it for as long as I've had it with no negative effects. I think it's just a design oversight/mistake on the part of the manufacturer, because it isn't necessary.

It's a very nice clone of the Penelope. I've never owned the real thing, but I can't imagine it being a whole lot better other than the shiny vs. brushed finish.
