I've just ordered, thru a coop, an Oddy clone SS version that should be here by the end of Jan. This is my first venture into rebuildable atomizer tanks after vaping for 2 years. I've watched Scott's video from e-cig-reviews.com on how to set this system up and plan on following his directions on building the atomizer.

I plan on buying my supplies from stormy's and would like to know or confirm what size silica wick and kanthal wire I should use; and will the 30 gauge silver wire for my no resistance leads work with this system.

My intention is to have an atty around 2.5-2.9 ohms that I will be using on a Provari.

thanks for your help in advance,

crap the nextel does not fit? have all the items coming and no wick now.

Im sorry, really, but I think it was discussed that the nextel was thick and that it would entail either making the channels wider or just using it as the top piece. Maybe I was not clear, on the Terminator since it does have 2 ceramic channels you can dremmel the channels wider as dwcraig has done. On the Ody V2 only having one channel, it is not possible.

Im sorry if I caused some confusion. It has been mentioned on this thread and Stormys that 2 or 3 mm works best.

Guess I will work something out, have a new dremmel that needs some work.

my terminator came in today. must say this is very nice craftmanship. set it up with 32ga kanthal and 30 ga dead soft .999 silver wire in about 5 minutes and its ohming out at 1.9 ohms.

was just looking at stormy's site and realized that the clear tank that goes on the term-c fits on the large terminator...guess that'll be cool for now, just sucks how its not completely clear.

I wouldn't worry about it. I have a tank for my penny that looks frosted but once juice is in it its almost clear

I wonder how durable the plastic tank will be long term, threading and unthreading frequently is likely to wear the threads out? I have ordered from Singapore some stainless steel extenders, figure I can put a stainless at the top and bottom then my medium plastic in the middle which should prevent me having to screw and unscrew the plastic.

It looks like a "bump" is in order, here goes,
I have two Terminators that I ordered tank and mouth piece kits for, one from Rampage Vapor and one from SilicaWicks.com.
I expected them to be pretty much identical but the one from SilicaWicks.com is a little bit larger, I like this as now I can tell them apart, here they are with their step-sister Penny

So, if we're bumping due to lack of activity I have an idea :) I just ordered a Terminator and have never had an Ody so I'm a novice. I've read about them and watched reviews in the past but figured I'd never be plunking down the money for one so I didn't let myself get too into it. So here's the idea: perhaps you, dwcraig1, or somebody else could write up a tutorial for newbies like me that covers the stuff Scott's video doesn't. I've heard people talking about torching the ceramic and also saying it's no longer necessary, using various things to clean all parts before use, using lubricants on the parts, cleaning and/or torching the wick material, ongoing maintenance like dry-burning the coil or other cleaning of the coil/wick and or tank parts, and anything else that would be useful for new users. Or, if all of these things have been covered elsewhere perhaps I could just be pointed in the direction of those resources.

I'm a little nervous about reading the official Ody thread(s) in the GG forum, because they might be able to detect that an intruder is in their presence and get out the pitchforks :)

Just another tip for you new users...

You can use SS mesh just where the coil will be (I cut mine even with the width of the ceramic) and it will extend the life of the wick. Just wrap it around your FG or silica wick about 4 wraps, and roll it tight enough to fit snug in the ceramic. A simple rinse in hot water, dry with paper towel, the dry burn to burn any caked on liquid from the coil...then you have a like new wick/coil!! :D

ok - got emails today saying my nr wire and silica wicks have shipped. unfortunately, the silica will be too big. looks like i'll need to order from stormys the right size silica. anyway, i'm currently using 32 gauge kanthal a1 resistance wire. been folding the wire to make legs. been using boiled cotton yarn as wick. i make a double wick then trim the top strand the width of ceramic. i make sure the contact is sticking out far enough but not too much. i make sure everything is tightened that needs to be - exception the coil not too tight. that said - the flavor of liquid is good. taste is better than what i get using a DCTank cart at 2.0 ohms around 5 volts on a provari v2. the problem is vapor production. i cant take a normal draw. i have to take long slow draws to get a decent amount of vapor. the draw is very airy. i dont think the coils getting hot enough maybe? if i try turning up the volts the flavor changes and i can tell its wanting to burn. just 4 wraps will give me a 3.5 ohm coil. my last one had only 3 wraps and came out at i think 2.8. so my question is this - when i get my nr wire will all this change. can i expect to be able to do 4 wraps get a 2.0 ohm coil and have good vapor production. i dont think wicking has been an issue since i pretty much have to keep the drip tip/feed closed or i get alot of gurgling. any help will be greatly appreciated. thanks

You can remove a couple groups of strands from your silica wick that is too large, just carefully unravel one section at a time.
With the addition of NR wire your wraps vs ohms will be on the money.
After filling, blow out excess and vape it with mouth piece closed until it indicates that more liquid is needed, start with maybe up to one turn.
Because of the negative wire making the locking ring off level, the mouth piece doesn't sit square on the ring either so there is slight seepage both above and below locking ring. I will post the work around for this problem as soon as I try it, the next time that I rebuild it.
