RE: Basilray has done a review on the terminator
In the video he says that he feels that the Oddy wicks better that the Terminator due to minor differences in the mouth piece, it appears that he is comparing a version 1 rebuild-able part to a version 2 part, the wick channels are much larger on version 2. Just my opinion.

Yes, that makes sense! I don't think that that minor difference between the LC/Mouthpiece of the Choddy and the Oddy could make a difference in vape experience.

OK now that I've done the work around on the negative connection I will try to explain it. I don't know if any of you have seen the review of the nautilus by Navy Lifeguard before he removed it. It was in German so I don't know if he said anything about this or not but he did it.
On the negative BEFORE the bottom of the wick channel he coiled the NR wire around the wick so it would make contact with the base when the ceramic housing is screwed in. Just be careful that you don't let it go past the bottom of the ceramic housing or it may short on the (positive) air tube.
I just did this and it works perfectly, even though I primed the new wick I had to unscrew the mouth piece right after one hit

For me, the terminator works quite well with silica wick, using the same method scott did in his review of the odysseus. Awesome vapor, throat hit and flavor. However I've been really trying to get it to work with SS mesh using Mr. K's nextel method but the coils just don't get hot fast enough and I end up having similar problems to john333 - weak vapor production and very airy draw. I've been rebuilding my vivi novas for quite a while now using SS mesh and have had no problems with the coils I make.

Have any of you guys tried putting SS mesh in your terminators and got it to work well?

Here's the review by Navy Lifeguard Navy_Lifeguard - Nautilus
The part that you described is at 7:40min.

Why did you have to unscrew the mouthpiece after one hit? Low resistance or? ;)

Because without it leaking above and blow the locking ring the amount of liquid that I normally apply to the new wick just wasn't enough, before with the wire offsetting the mouth piece and creating a leak I would maybe get ten hits before it became necessary to open up the mouth piece.
I have a clear tank on both of mine, I was amazed at all the air bubbles coming out from above and below the locking ring with the mouth piece closed when I unscrewed the top cap.

I just placed a order for the terminator-c, and I have a question. I currently own both a ody v2 and a penelope, and I have tons of 3.5 mm silica wick. So the question is being that some of the parts are interchangeable is it possible to use a ody ceramic housing in the terminator? I have used 2mm silica in the past, and find I get a better vape with the 3.5mm. I really don't want to have to dremel out the ceramic that comes with the terminator.

You should be able to use the v2 ceramic with the v2 housing in the Term

"Anyone have issues with the bottom center post oring not making contact with the lower body? when I make the "post" tight enough to compress the oring the post sticks out of the 510 connect really far."

You can control how far you want the center pin to stick out. You screw in the housing until the pin is out as much as you need it ( I usually do about a mm), and use the center ring (same ring to make neg contact with nr wire) to tighten everything in place. If you look up Scotts review of the Ody v2 you will see what I mean.

You are probably compressing it more than necessary, as you get it most of the way screwed in you can feel when the o-ring starts to compress, it doesn't take much more for it to seal.
You can also wrap multiple turns of the NR wire around the positive post when connecting the positive side. You can re-use it later so it really isn't getting wasted.

So my Terminator-C was expected to be delivered on the 5th, but as of tonight it's in my local sort facility so I should be getting it tomorrow! Is there anything I should be mindful of before I start my inaugural build? I've worked with gennys before, but I've actually never done any silica RBAs. Is there anything I need to do to prep the silica wick? Is it necessary or even desirable to flame the ceramic? Anything else not mentioned in Scott's excellent tutorial/review that I should be mindful of?

You need to flame the wick and resistor wire, might as well do the ceramic while your at it, I just use a Torch type cigarette lighter.
I wash all other parts with hot water and dish soap.
I have been having a heck of a time getting my plastic tanks loose when disassembling so I used a little Vaseline on the threads, not sure how that will work but they went together more easily, also a dab of Vaseline needs to go on the bottom o-ring and don't over tighten this. Always have mouth piece closed when it has juice in it and your going to open it or fill it.
Your going to really like it.

Thanks, dwcraig1! I'm really looking forward to it.

My only options for fire are a candle/grill lighter and a butane torch. Should I go with the butane torch on low flame for the wick? That's what I do when I'm torching my resistance wire for the genesis. If I hadn't heard people talking about it I never would've guessed that a persons should torch the silica; glad it was discussed here.

You don't want to blacken up the wick and ceramic. a regular lighter is fine for the resister wire, I think that you could lay the wick and ceramic right on electric stove burner. Or you might simply use hot water (microwaved)

If you have a harbor freight store nearby they sometimes have the torches on sale for $5-6

Thanks guys. Sadly, I live in the middle of nowhere so I thought harbor freight was an online only retailer or wholesaler until I got into RBAs, lol. I might have a poke around to see if I still have a little torch lighter or maybe will see if local gas stations have some. If not, do you think a regular lighter would get the job done for the wick and/or do you think the butane torch on its lowest setting would be too much for it?
