Vapemail has arrived. Have Hangsen Desert Ship, Flue Cured, Golden VI, Ry3 and Tab Blended mixed at 5% in the ultrasonic steeping. Also have Inawera Gold Ducat. Only to wait now.

For straight tobacco in Hangsen line, I don't suggest an RY anything. I'd suggest Camel or Highway.

All the reviews that I've read about the RY6 says that it's suppose to taste close to a real analog and isn't a sweet tobacco flavor at all but we all know how misleading reviews can be. I thought it was a little strange since most RYs are sweet but I also thought that maybe the RY6 might be an exception. Have you actually tried the RY6? The friend of mine that I'm trying to help out mixes tobacco with menthol and he wants a straight tobacco that isn't sweet or nutty. It's cheap enough so I'll probably end up trying the Camel and the RY6 but I would like to get some more feedback on the RY6.

I've read the same things about RY6. I haven't tried it, but I have tried the RY1 (one of my favorites). The RY1 is like a straight cig flavor (IMO). I don't notice any caramel or vanilla... and the RY6 is supposed have even less caramel/vanilla than the RY1. My understanding is that the RY4 has the most caramel/vanilla, and as the numbers go down there is less of it; and more straight tobacco. Later they added two more with even less than the lowest one (RY1)... those are RY5 and RY6. Hopefully I have that right.
Anyway, for straight tobacco, I think RY1 and RY6 would be good choices.

Just found this Hangsen thread. I had posted on another thread, but thought I would ask on this one. I have been mixing HS TU tobacco for over a year at 3% (1 drop/ml) with 1 drop/10ml ACV and it was always a rich taste of Turkish and a little sweet. I have always ordered from the same retailer and get my nic and PG and VG from the same place. Now when I make my mix all I can get is a wheat and hay taste out of it--no matter how I try to change the mix ratio I can not get back to the tobacco taste. My question is: has anyone else noticed a change in the formula - either from the supplier or from hs themselves (obviously I cannot name the supplier out of good ethics). But I am at a loss and have an inordinate amount of flavoring to find a way to use.

I have had the same issue and I did order from buyhangsen.com I have about 8 flavors, all taste nearly the same: the HAY taste! some have a slightly different flavor. I'm @10% on this last try, started at 2%

Is more than 10% normal? It seems everyone else is @6-8% My other non-tobacco flavors I purchased did not have this issue. I'll keep trying when I get time....Your not the only one.

I ended up going with the USA mix, Desert Ship and Highway (T5). I spoke with Brett with Caterpillarvapes and he said that he never noticed any sweetness with the RY6. He also recommended a few flavors from their Stars and Stripes line. I guess its Hangsens premium line. Its just a little more expensive, but still very affordable. I'll probably try some on my next order as well as the RY6. Thanks to you and everyone else for the helpful input.

Stars and Stripes sounds interesting. Never heard of it before. I wonder if the flavor concentrates will be available? (Caterpillar is just premixed, isn't it?)

10% sounds a bit high. Most use 5 - 7%. Have you let it steep. Hangsen flavors wont come out until they steeped at least 3 - 4 weeks. There are faster ways to steep so read my blog on steeping.

I'm still pretty new to DIY. Mostly I have been making small batch mixes of single flavors so I can get an idea of what each flavor tastes like by itself. I made a Grapefruit from some Hangsen I bought from VapeZone. It just does not taste like grapefruit. I started at 5% and I'm now at 8%. I just bumped to 8% so haven't had a chance to try it yet. I'm starting wonder if I need to add another flavor to the mix to bring out the grapefruit. Can anyone give me some ideas on what would make the grapefruit pop? Thanks in advance!

I'm looking to try some more Hangsen tobacco flavors, however I don't want to waste money on flavors I won't like. I noticed that Buyhangsen has the 5ml bottles of e-liquid for $2.25. If I buy a 5ml bottle of Black Label e-juice, can I expect the same taste from the Black Label flavoring or do the pre-mixed have additional flavors, sweeteners, etc.? If they are the same, then I can save me some money weeding out the ones I don't like. I realize they are 0nic and nic will change it some.

I've ordered their 5ml "samples" for just that purpose and I would recommend it. I did add nicotine to them to get the full effect.

I'm not sure if there are any additional flavors compared to the straight concentrate. I just wanted a quick taste test since Most flavors don't play nice with my tastebuds. The search continues, haha :(

Last time I ordered the pricing worked out to 3x samples for the price of one concentrate.

I find the premixed closely resembles the DIY- so the sample bottles might be a good investment $$
