Oh sure take your time. It's not like 50.000 people are eagerly waiting here on the forum for you to post your results and while time passes the rumour that the sx is not Ti friendly is spreading through the Internet like a wild fire. [emoji14]

I hope you don't feel any excess pressure, it's just a small Ti community who's survival depends on your results.

:D ;)

Ya Noodle, what he said ;)

Let me know if you 24 or 30ga. The triple twisted 30ga is pretty nice.

Right now I'm falling asleep petting Merlin, one of my parrots.

I have a few income tax returns tomorrow and possibly Wednesday to finish for the neighbors, ugh.

And it will be my first attempt at this (tp). If it had come Thurs it would have been done asap :). It was a few days early. However, its running my Flash e nicely right now in normal mode.

This may be my first time ever I didn't have a new toy running that day as I intended with this :)

I think this is quite a jump in logic to say fundamentally different based on this one data point.
It could be as simple as the DNA being able to regulate down to a lower wattage which I believe it can do.

you are correct. It was a bit of knee jerk reaction and one I posted before I saw the 10J minimum. It may still be true of course but this donate show it either way.

I was reading another thread here about Ti (24g) having issues with the SX TC and figure its the thick wire creating the problem, so i would be interested to know if a thinner Ti wire would fare better.

All I saw on Amazon was the 24g Ti wire that I am using with great results on my 3 dna40 mods.
I also run these coils well below 400F and they last hell of a long time.

I have an SX in the box here but am not exactly excited to get started with it.
I'm not up on joules etc not to mention wick burning.

I think I'll continue waiting and watching the threads

I'm done with the tax returns

So tomorrow I'll try to set up the sx with 28g ti, Ukeman, but I feel like I have no idea what I'm doing [emoji23]
Why not tonight?

It's 1 am here and I just soldered a new 510 connector, replaced a positive pole screw, made a new 0.5mm nylon shim and polished both contacts.

Come on, who needs to sleep anyway? :D

30 ga grade#1 TI , 1-1/2 foot folded in half & barely twist the loose end then put it into the chuck of your drill and spin tight.
7 wraps on a 3/32 bit ....squeeze it as close as you can without touching should come out around .24 to .26 which is perfect for the DNA40.
set the temp between 370 to 380 and wick with rayon (cellu) and watch the vapor chuck out....that's my preference but you can use less wraps to go lower but i see no point in that myself.....have played and experimented with many different builds and i like this one the best; so take it for what it's worth just my :2c:
...enjoy the :vapor:

Twisted 30awg is what I have in all my TC builds, but my resistance is less than half of what you're getting

i get the same readings every-time on a single coil?.....what is your method?

see your from louisville, hey!

Yeah, I noticed your location, which is one of the reasons I decided to respond

Two tightly twisted strands of 30awg Ni200 wrapped 6-7 times around a 3mm arbor. My DNA40 and my "Made in the USA" 3 place decimal ohms checker both read the same thing (which is really nice for the OCD in me)
