Well...that caps it! Most of the mods I've seen lately don't even go below 3 volts....so no way I'm going to try the "new" 1.2 GS Air coils (with cotton!). 7 watts is really pushing the heat factor with my juice and I don't like it. I wish they'd keep the Tootlers in mind when they make these things. How hard would it be to just let the device go down a volt or two lower? Maybe "most" would never need it. But some of us might.

By that chart, my preferred vape is in the purple... but wicking is key. If your wick works well enough to stay saturated, then the purple is fine -- same is true for those who like hot vapes, in the red zone; they usually have a lot more airflow, so it doesn't feel so hot, and wicking is still key -- the main point is, you have to wick as fast as your coil can vaporize, otherwise you get a dry hit.

But that chart is slanted to the very old tech, cartos and small BCCs. The way that a lot do it now, with the high-wattage boxes, they're usually using something like a subtank or something else with whooshing airflow. (To me, that's not vaping, that's HUFFING!).

Stop Ding you will make me blush... :hubba:

I am just a poor humble traveler on the road to vaping enlightenment, crossing paths with wonderful travelers along the way like yourself and other great people here on ECF. Stopping along that path, to share the mysteries and secrets from the true masters, is just part of this wonderful journey.

My personal Sensei's on ECF are @ccwaters and @roxynoodle, because of them I have a nice collection of some of the most flavorful RTA's available. I had asked cc a while back in the iStick thread to list his top 10 flavor RTA's and I have picked up quite a few from that excellent list, I still need an ErlK, a Taifun GT2-S and would absolutely love to get a Spheroid but that one is quite out of my budget. If you ever see something new or old that you think might be a great atty, chances are that cc has it already or its inbound.

Roxy introduced me the Rose V2 and FeV's, she sent me an unloved Sat22 that I very much enjoy in my small Genny collection and will put a Ti TC build in very soon. I think Roxy can rival cc with her collection of atomizers, she might even surpass his, I am not sure. If it's new Roxy probably has one inbound as well.

Either way both are a store house of knowledge and I hold the opinions of each in very high regard.

There are so many great users here that I have great respect for and learned a lot from, that I won't make a list of at the risk of leaving someone off.
:toast:

Troll Dragon, just a humble traveler.

I blush, I blush :p

Oh, no, cc makes me look as if I don't suffer from atty addiction. He has at least 150! I've had about half that.

I so wanted to try kartos and a karto tank ('cause they look "elegant"). I know I didn't spend a lot when I gave it a whirl last year, but for me, it was like sucking a frosty through a coffee stirrer. I love Boden's on his Provari. It just is simple and to the point.

I guess I'll never be a true Tootler, but I certainly enjoy pretending :D

I have been toying with various cartomizer type things for a while. The madvapes revive cartomizer has a very airy draw. In fact too airy for me and IMO would suite a Lung Hit. The other thing is a proprietary drip tip and only 45mm but if I am honest it's the closest thing to a dripper I have come across and that for the price is an excellent one to try.

I'm still here on ECF... sort of. ;)

That's why I haven't gone that way. I have spinal cord damage that has left me with very little feeling in my hands. The reason that I had to quit smoking was that I couldn't hold onto a lit cigarette any more - a very immediate health threat.

I looked into buying a bunch of the pre-wrapped coils as vapocalypse prep, but gave up on the idea when I saw closeup pics of the decks. I'll just have to stick with commercial coils, and stock up a lot if it looks like everything is going bonkers.

And on non-rebuildable tanks I'm completely hooked on Anyvape Davides. I use them with single coil heads - they take standard Kanger coils, but they now come with an extra piece that makes them fit BDCs or the Aspire BVCs that aren't the Nautilus ones. The Davides do have a pretty airy draw, which I like but wouldn't suit everyone.

amoret, good to see you. I'm so glad you've found the gear that works for you. Truly.

and {{{hugs}}}.

Just got back from the local B&M on my weekly 'screw with the new employees' visit. So new guy saunters up to me as I'm looking at the ego batteries and says " what you want is a 150W box with a something-Sub-ohm tank".

I ask how he knows what I want? He says "cus its da best".

I ask " da best at what?"

* confused look ensues*

He says "because it's powerful"

I says "what do you mean powerful?"

*confused look continues*

At this point he babbled some nonsense about clouds or something

I pull this out of my pocket

And take a nice leisurely puff.

The confused look changes to dumbfounded.

he asks "what is that?.."

I say "it's a VV mod, the next big thing!"

At this point all the other employees burst into laughter.

After that we put some 18 mg juice in a taster tank of the same type he was trying to sell me and let him try his setup for noobs. It did not end well.

I has fun :)

Oh if you only KNEW how much I LOVED this story, Mr. Boden!! MARVELOUS. Hmmm....... I wonder if this little device would like to go for a ride to a vape store one of these days.......

Same! Really want to get a hold of that Cerotank when I get some money.. :)

Ooooooooooo, I hope you love it like we do. Such an easy filler, and just a good ole good tank.

I know how much Kat luvz them but I couldn't find them over here. ;)

Does this mean I'll be shipping to Aussie Land anytime soon? ;)

I'm going to have to go - NEGATIVE. The kanger/evod heads "might" work. Just realized that those are even limited. I had ONE "tall chimney" coil that would fit in the STN. They are all o.k. in the STM. I think the Aspires are too wide.

Thank you, Dinger. It was info (unreliable at this point) that I ran into. Thought I'd check with my TPuffers to see if anyone had heard of this.

I have three. Took me over a year to get them (with a lot of help from @Katdarling and @DPLongo22 )

Actually they are the reason I joined ECF and met all you wonderful people.

Oh mamma mia BLUSH BLUSH BLUSH! We kinda sorta like you a whole bunch, too, kiddo.

You should have been a vaper when cartomizers were a loose draw. :)

 I do remember. We thought they were the best thing since sliced..... since sliced blue foam!

I got mine at Ebay...at the suggestion of DPL and Katdarling. I really haven't played with it that much (I'm a new convert from carto tanks as of June) because I fell in love with the GS Air and GS Air M. I have some coils to go with (both Kanger and Aspire). Just haven't gotten around to it much, yet! I will I'm sure. Been thinking about doing some experimenting and playing with it for the past several days.

Report, si vous plais, Madame Rok.

It's so funny to hear this actually. It's usually the other end of the wattage spectrum saying the exact same thing! Love it.

 couldn't help myself ;)

Nor could he, dahling....... nor could he. ;)

Nope, not very pretty on a stick mod. Tolerable on a box mod or a tube mod :D

Three different chimneys. ONLY the one of the left worked. I had some short chimney heads from when I got a 10-pack of EVODs last year from Fasttech. They worked o.k. in the Nano. I think the STM has a slightly larger diameter, and all of these worked o.k.

I have found that SOME evod coils are a bit shorter than the T3 and protank coils and will cause some gurgling. However the T3 coils WILL work ok in the Evods so I have gone to all T3 coils in everything. Protank, Evod and T3.

In my case the manager and other employees are in on the gag. Which I think makes it funnier

I think a working Darwin would blow some minds..

MyFreedomSmokes is having a sale this weekend (but I expect EVERYONE is too).
I may have to stop hanging out here! haha! I saw this post and scurried over to my email to see what the sale was...then off to MFS to see what I might get. Like I "need" anything right now! I don't. But gawd I was sooooo tempted. Fortunately, reason prevailed. This time.

Sometimes is good to be in a place where shipping can be more than the cost of product. It reins in the spending.

Yay! I've been fighting with this Kayfun for the last 2 hours, and I finally won and am vaping it. I had to unscrew that airflow screw almost all the way to get a decent draw - still tight - but not bad. And good flavor.

What happened was, I put on a coil that I knew should be around 1.5 ohms - 29 gauge on a 3/32 drill bit with 7 wraps. But my ohm meter said it was .5. I figured my ohm meter was all wet, so I put it on a mod and it told me the atty was shorted. I put on my magnifying visor and examined that coil from every angle and couldn't figure out what was wrong.

I came back and looked at Boden's coil pictures and thought, "Hmmmm. His positive pole is sitting straight. Mine is sitting crooked and touching the negative pole," which was obviously causing the short. Once I got it straightened out, I had 1.5 ohms, and then it was just a matter of wicking it, putting it back together, and filling it up. I kinda like that fill valve. I have needle bottles, so it's really easy to fill. At any rate, I'm sitting here enjoying a very nice vape from a Kayfun. Whoda thunk? :vapor:

The problem, you see, is I have no home. I'm the lone vapor. A tootle puffin', mod wompin', cloud chaser.

I belong everywhere and nowhere :D

You might be surprised to know that there are quite a few people in this thread who share those traits. :D

Yup straighten up the positive block and tighten that center pin.
Watch that airflow screw if it is on the bottom (I forgot which one you picked up) and you put it on a mod with slots in the 510 top.

1_zps2acbf803.jpg

The airflow screw can work itself loose and fall into one of those slots, this makes it impossible to remove the Kayfun without damage. People take the screw out completely or put a piece of tape over the screw to keep it in place.

Yes, I should have paid a bit more attention, since it was an under $10 clone. :D The airflow is on the side, but I think I will take that screw all the way out. I keep hearing a whistle and wondering if that is what is causing it.
