Hit it, 'Dria.

This is more my speed... though my voice is still recuperating, but it's getting there. ;)

(also my favorite Heart album, but it got lost in a recording company dispute, so it never achieved the same airplay as their others)

Proud tootle puffer here. I'm rocking a kayfun 3.1 clone(1.4Ω), with a sx350 box that I made in a kit(7.5W). because it is one of the rare (so i'v seen, could be wrong) mods that has "true" step down.
Anyway I'm getting pretty annoyed with the local shops here. They are putting cloud chasing units into the hands of newbies who just wanted an "upgrade". I just ran into a new vapor that is still on the fence, about liking vaping. She went to a local shop to upgrade her ego setup. The shop had her buy an Istick(40?) and an atlantis tank, with a 0.5Ω coil and she hates the thing. She doesn't understand why she needs 25watts, which is making her battery die halfway throgh the day, and why if she uses a tighter draw she gets the gurgles and spit back because she flooded her tank. I tried to educate her, but there was a lot to cover. But I digress, what I'm truly annoyed about, is that these brick and mortar shops are starting to do less education of their products, and are turning more into just a "retail shop" that don't know enough about the products that they are selling, and are pushing the more expensive products into peoples hands, just to turn a profit! This is what is killing the vape industry that we know and love!

Sadly, ColbeWan, there are many (as reported here on ECF) who think that putting that gear in the hands of a smoker is THE way to help people transition from cigarettes.

Had that been me, some 4.5 years ago, I would have laughed and told them to .... ummmmm....... put those things where the sun don't shine.

My immediate vape wannabees have a hard time comprehending filling a tank or the proper way to charge a battery. Should I hit them with sub ohm discussion, the "benefits" of high or "max" VG...... welp, there they'd go. Trotting off as far from me as they could (as they lit up yet another smoke)...

And I would not blame them for a hot minute.

That truly chaps my hind quarters for exactly the same reason you listed. B&M's employ these young kids who are clueless about such mundane things as battery safety and personal vaping experience. All they care is to sell the high end stuff that eats a ton of juice and BTW, they can sell you the juice too. One B&M told me once that tanks are just a passing fad and for Gods sake dont ever mention DIY in a vape shop. I got dagger eyes from a lady behind the counter from that and even got to hear her rant of how unsafe mixing your own juice is. She was absolutely clueless about what she was spewing but that sure didnt stop her tirade :D

There is still some vape shops out there that are there to help people on their vaping journey but those are becoming few and far between.

And she effortlessly dodges the question and changes the subject with such finesse that hasnt been seen in ages. :D
Maybe the answer has a symbolic value that escapes us. Dogs bite postmen, but we simply don't know the possible connection between plumbers and cats ... ? :D
