Thank you, Bodenmeister and Sir LJF...... you both described it well.

And Shameless, we don't mean to confuse you in any way, but the learning curve is steep right now for you. I loved what you said: "but in the end - I will just take what I get and use it to form my choices."

I agree........ slow it down. vape what you have while you continue to ask questions. Watch some YouTube videos on areas of vaping that interest you, and just KNOW you'll get there (wherever "there" is for you). We all walk this road, and you'll have PLENTY of advice and information just in this thread alone.

Just vape...... it will all come together in time. I promise you.

So it sounds like I cant do TC. Cause all that you said up there ^ scared me!

I dont want to switch out heads, theres no way I am rebuilding anything!! I dont even know what you mean by taking the big pin out and replacing it with a small pin.

I dont know what this means:
H - CLR .5 /1.0/Ti
V - CLR .5/1.0/Ni/Ti

I am feeling overwhelmed and a bit out of my element. I want this to work, but at the moment - I dont feel I am able to do it. I dont like my cigalike anymore - I dont want to go back to smoking, but what you are saying doesnt make sence and i think that my only choice is to try to make the cigalike work and hope it doesnt bother me so much I go back to smoking cause it has the coils at the top and really warms the vapor up

if you get what I said in first post (#4959)
Tootle Puffers, Redux (The Sequel)

VTC mini KIT
and buy / use the CLR 1.0Ω coils

you’ll be just fine, IMO

of course you’ll need batteries and a charger

it sounds to me like a CARTO TANK would suit you quite well.
I'd recommend giving them a whirl.

One of the things I am having trouble with, since I bought my nautilus mini and a cylinder type mod - is that the vapor is cool. It doesnt "feel" like smoking a cigarette and I dont like it. Thats why I was looking into TC.

Maybe you just need to vape at a higher power level.

You mentioned you got a tube mod, but which one?

Because one of the things I need is a warm vapor - I tried my nautilus and it has cool vapor - I dont like that - it feels like smoking air to me
Here is a nice variable voltage/wattage device that is very well built and flexible. A good starting place. Innokin iTaste VV4
Worlds away from a "cigalike"! You can use carto tanks or clearomizers or even something like the GS Air tanks (including the GS Air M) on it and it will look nice and work well. It should come with a proper eGo adapter on it.

Here is a great place to get cartomizers. Since you like a warm vape, I'd go for something in the 1.7ohm range to start. The lower the number the warmer the vape. Innokin iTaste VV4

They also have tanks there. Smok Tech 5ML Dual Coil Tank Cartomizer clear | Smok Tech 5ml Cartomizer clear | Sure Vapes Just a suggestion. You can Google for "DCT Tanks" or "Dual coil tanks" (you do NOT have to use dual coils if you don't want to...but the duals are a bit warmer vapor). Most vendors still have some of the DCT style tanks around. You will likely need a "drip tip" which you can find at that same site. (or most any vape vendor).

There's a place to start. Hope it helps.

EDIT: Ah. I guess the iTaste V4 doesn't come with the thread cover. Here's one that would work for most any tank you end up with..at least for now. WIDE eGo Cone Cover for DCTank

Ok - I got a bit razzled there for a minute, lol

Do the 1.9 clr coils have nickel or titanium or stainless steel coils for using with TC? I went to the site and it doesnt say anything about that

Welcome!

See my avatar? That's a carto tank sitting on top of an eVic VT. That's how much I thought of the temp control feature. Variable power (VW) works well for me. Just turn the power (watts) up or down to make your vape cooler or warmer.

I like cool vapor myself, so I'm vaping that exact tank now at 5.8W. Somewhere around 8W, the vapor gets pretty warm. It's not as tight of a draw as a cigarette, but it feels very close.

I don't use cartos in them, though. I use atomizers that look like cartomizers. I can't give you a link right now, though, because Madvapes is one of the merchants that went offline today out of protest.

But if you're interested, they're by Smoktech, and they call them "DCT Atomizers".

I get where you're coming from on the loose/tight draw thing. Remember that high powered, low resistance devices are really made for big, airy draws. They can get quite hot and dry otherwise.

I don't know what the best beginner setup is, but I'm having a nice vape right now.

Provape Radius (yay!) set to 5.8W
Generic cartotank from Fasttech with a SMOK atomizer (2.4ohms)
Strawberries and cream diy ejuice

Sounds like you're set on getting a TC setup, a bit of a leap from what you have now, but doable. I would suggest an Istick 40w with a GS Air M atty. Couple of advantages to this setup are: both are reasonably priced, the GS Air has both regular and TC premade coils available and has excellent air control. Easy plug and play intro to TC vaping.

So I have been told I am a tootlepuffer (the name makes me giggle).

I am brand new to vaping (since 10/10/15).

I started with the MigCig 21, its a step up from cigalikes, and want to go into a longer lasting, no burnt tasting mod.

I like warm vapor (so I need TC)
I like something small (so I need a small box mod)
I like having resistance when I hit my vapor, I didnt say that right but I like feeling like I'm sucking the vapor like a cigarette - not free flow with lots of air (So I need a tank with variable air control that actually has a LOW setting, my nautilus mini's low setting is still too much vapor - So I need help here), also I purchased some narrow bore drip tips hoping that will help - they are on the way.

I am trying to decide what TC mini mod to buy. I am looking at the iStick 60w TC mini and the evic VTC mini and a few people have mentioned the IPV D2 (I could use a lot of help there!!)

Anyway - nice to meet you all - and this seems like a nice thread!!

Hey, welcome to the party! I'm with you about wanting a tight draw like a cigarette, that and the throat hit, can't give 'em up! :D

Thanks!

I'm not really "stuck" on going tc. I just dont know how to get a really warm vapor without doing so.

I was looking at the iStick 60w TC mod or the evic VTC

Is there a reason you suggested the 40w?

Giggles @ conversate

Why is a carto tank warmer? Why is it not a popular suggestion? Is it a tank? Why do I need to find a tank? OMG I got real confused!

Do you think I shouldnt try TC? How does a tank make vapor warm?

Actually I think TC and cartos/cartotanks would go together like cookies and cream -- one of the bad things about cartos is that they can be hard to "prime" -- to get fully soaked with ejuice when you first start using them -- but with a TC mod, you'd never get the dread dry hit that comes so often with cartos that aren't fully primed.

The benefit of cartos is that a) they are easy (other than the priming bit, would would be no problem with a TC mod), b) they are inexpensive, c) they have a very tight draw, d) they do have a warmer draw, though you could adjust it with the TC mod, and e) they use ejuice very conservatively. I do think that is an EXCELLENT idea!!!
