Tootle Puffers, Redux (The Sequel)

I was sniffing around online yesterday, looking at different drip tips til my peepers crossed. It was the first time I'd had a nosey at some. I came across some which caught my eye - Ming. "Hmm", I thought to myself, "That name rings a bell. I think Andria may have mentioned them."

Lookie here, you mentioned them tonight. Well, well, all my following this thread is finally sticking in my grey matter. Didn't think I was learning anything.

They're really my favorites, in any size, though the small acrylic ones are #1 -- best feel on the mouth, nice rounded edge, and for reasons I don't understand, they're also very kind to flavor; I use an angled adapter so that I don't get popped in the mouth with ejuice (always happens to me with RDAs), and the small ones look better sticking out of the angled adapter; the large ones look a bit odd. Acrylic is harder to break than glass (though it will break, as I've shown several times now ), stays cool but not cold, and doesn't get that "lip smut" ickiness as bad as metal or even glass will do, or at least, not NEARLY as fast.

Make sure if there is a leak there is a place for the water to go. Ours had a drain right next to it, but the pipe outside was clogged with dirt, no way for it to drain, it IS fixed now. (Edit: our water heater was dated from 1978 when the house was built)

That is making me feel considerably better. I think.

I forgot to mention -- for some reason, MadVapes called them "dynasty" instead of Ming -- same thing; all those I've gotten from them are the large ones though -- which are fine, sticking out of any normal atty, they just look funny sticking out of my angled adapter. But the madVapes "Dynastys" made out of anodized aluminum were the first metal ones I learned to tolerate; they're big enough that they don't get hot, as some aluminum tips do. But they do feel cold, when the weather is cold, and they do accrue that sticky nastiness much faster than any acrylic tips do.

To some it may seem a little funny, to worry so much about the least expensive part of the whole device, but since it's the part encountered by one's mouth, to me it's VERY important. (and some driptips aren't inexpensive at all -- but I don't get those, can't afford 'em!)

Fully on board with your comments. Drip tips make a difference. The right one concentrate your flavour and allow you to have an even vaping technique.

Oh I'm with you - part of the reason I was so happy to acquire my PT2'S was because of the driptips. I really didn't /don't like the tips on my Ego Ones. They're far too airy for me and feel like I'm drawing on a toilet paper roll.

The PT2'S fit like a puzzle piece in the corner of my mouth.

I use Ming style acrylics on my Sub Tank Mini's. Improves the flavor and temperature of the vape.

Oh I'm with you - part of the reason I was so happy to acquire my PT2'S was because of the driptips. I really didn't /don't like the tips on my Ego Ones. They're far too airy for me and feel like I'm drawing on a toilet paper roll.

I guess I'm weird; I've always put my vape pretty much in the center of my lips, as I did with cigarettes, or maybe just *slightly* off center, like trying to bowl a strike. But when my asthma is being a pain, that corner-of-the-mouth technique has been useful, so I'm not drawing in quite so much.

I guess I'm weird; I've always put my vape pretty much in the center of my lips, as I did with cigarettes, or maybe just *slightly* off center, like trying to bowl a strike. But when my asthma is being a pain, that corner-of-the-mouth technique has been useful, so I'm not drawing in quite so much.

I started out in the middle, eventually moving to one side or the other. The driptip seems to mostly hang out on the left.

I've always been a little left of center.

I'm not a fan of either of those; mainly because they're aluminum -- the stubbys get hot enough to blister your lips, and once it's done, you're stuck with a blister on your lip for a week. Also, a lot of the stubbys you find nowadays are those wide-bore monstrosities. The long ones... just not sure those would really suit a tight-draw tootle-puffer.

Mainly I'm just not a fan of any metal driptips, though some high-quality stainless ones are ok; the large "Dynasty" anodized ones are large enough not to get hot, but they're still very cold, on cold days, and you can definitely feel the lip smut after just a few hours.

Same here! I bet those were the same smokers who slobbered all over their cigarettes, too! Nothing worse than a soggy cigarette filter, IMO!

I like a fairly cool vape, just barely warm, but I got one of those lip-blisters when I first started; when I first got my vv3, someone PIF'ed me a couple of 510 dripping atomizers, an aluminum driptip, and some cartos, so I could try out some other vapes besides the eRoll I started with and the T3S I was using with the vv3; I quite liked the cartos, but they were LR, and with an aluminum driptip, those suckers get HOT! So I've been very "twice shy" about aluminum tips ever since.
