@Vapez, thinking of you and I hope today is the start of you getting better.

@Atchafalaya. Thoughts are with your friend.
Thank you. And thanks everyone. She made it through the night and is breathing a little on her own

And really, we never really thought twice about paying crazy prices for a pack of smokes........every single day for years.

Yes, but once entrenched we quickly embrace a "Bottom-up" mentally (comparing everything to RBA & DIY) vs. the "Top-down" (comparing to cost of smokes) that we all began with.

Thanks to the wonders of spreadsheets & pivot tables, I've held that "Top-down" close, and still refer to it each month. It's my barometer and budget-setter.

That being said, I'm still always wanting the best deals I can get. More bang for da buck!

I spend way more on vaping than I did on smokes, a crazy amount if I'm honest. It has become a hobby and I enjoy it.

I did in the first six months, but broke even at six, and have been holding steady at about 50% (my goal & budget) since. It wasn't without effort, but now it almost takes effort to get it UP to 50%. I'll probably knock that down to 25% soon, since I really need and/or want for nothing.

A penny saved (and all that-there)...

For being into this for almost 2 years, I'm on the fence with what I've spent on vapey things v. what I would have spent on smokes. It's way more fun. I try to look for deals (ahem, HeavenGifts, Ms. Kat....) But, I got 3 mods, two more tanks, and a bunch of AFC bases for my PT2 tanks.... $0.78 EACH for what I was paying about $5 previously!!!!!!!

I like it!

Thank you, this means a lot to me.

I'm on my way to the appointment right now actually. Waiting for the bus. Feeling people are watching me, judging me, but I know they're not. I know they don't care at all, but I still feel that and it's terrible.

Thank you so much @Katdarling and @sorrynomore :)

Vapez
Good luck today, Vapez. The fact you made the appointment is a step in the right direction.
We're all rooting for you.

Quite so...

Here in WA smokes are, uh, spendy, although not as bad as some States. But if I were still a smoker, at the last "rate" I smoked, I'd be somewhere north of $300 a month on smokes. Heck, even on splurge / sale months, I don't come near that on vaping!

I don't even intend to spend a lot and I don't say buy really expensive stuff (with an exception of my custom dn200), I just buy tanks, then RDA's, then a few mods, some wraps, coils, wire, batteries, tools, flavors, nic, bottles, drip tips ect but it mounts up and then I look at what I have spent in a month and its way to much.

It's not I can't afford it, it's the fact 70% of the stuff I find I don't like or don't use and it's ridiculous, on the verge of stupid at times.

My new direction is trying to break away from tanks and pre built coils and onto a nice RDA setup, way cheaper to build your own and I DIY juice.

Def going to try and stick to the RDA route, sit back, enjoy my builds, enjoy my juice and chill the hell out.

Sorry for the vent

EXCELLENT news, Atch! :)
Yes she's up to breathing 50% on her own. I'm back to work now as her parents have arrived from out of town. She's so young, just 35. The doctor told me last night if she made it through the next 24 hours, she would probably make a full recovery. She went in Saturday with pancreatitis. When they brought her in for surgery yesterday morning, she stopped breathing and they had to put her in ICU. So, she is still septic but the lung function is the number one issue for now.

I did! That's why I smoked 120's, so I could smoke each one twice -- first half and last half. :D It was the only way I could afford it!
