I feel for you guysand gals that don't get the support from the people closest to you.
I get health benefits from nic.
It helps my muscles relax when they get spastic. So the wife good with vaping.
Plus she saw the other day at the Doctors office that my O2 level is now at 99! A year ago it struggled to stay in the low 90's.
We are better off vaping than smoking!!!!

I do get some support (at least vaping is much better than smoking!)

I try to explain that in lower dosages, nicotine actually has some pro-health benefits. Some studies do show that it helps with cognitive issues stemming from mild dementia, Alzheimer's, etc. But, enough CRAP has been spewed by the misinformed, some of the good may never truly be seen.

The Wife and I both quit the siggies and started vaping at the same time.We both were going to use the vapes as a means to get rid of the nicotene addiction altogether.Last spring she says alright I'm ready for the next step and stop vaping.Gulp...goes me...um,um,um I'm not there yet dear.....She's since given it all up and power to her.I thought she'd be angry with me but no she wasn't.I vape in the house and she's okay with it.Although I sometimes think she may be a bit disappointed with me,she doesn't say anything.

Thank Goodness for that, cause with me it's kinda a hobby now,I love making my own coils and farting around with the atomizers to making them work to the way I want.

One day I do want to get rid of vaping as well but I ain't there yet.Down from 24mg nic to 6mg and am thinking of dropping to 3 real soon.Lots of people don't understand the grip nicotene has on a user, well me anyhow.

(I got here to read this first before I posted to see if was accurate in her eyes, she agreed!)

So true!
I was at the MS clinic and told them about my experience with vaping, and told them that they need to do a study on the benefits of nicotine and spasticity.
My Dr agreed but said that wasn't happening anytime soon there because of the negative view of nicotine, so no one would back it.
But yet they'd want to put on pharmaceuticals that are just as addicting, and make me feel like sleeping all the time!

And, my Better Half has MS.... Fortunately (at least for now) spasticity issues aren't significant.... But, there are memory issues :(

I just ignore the people who don't have a right to dictate to me. Correct the 2 people who are allowed a say.

As for caffeine I reduced my caffeine intake by 50% last year. From 2 pots a day down to 1.
Too much of anything isn't good for us. I used to drink 2 pots of coffee a day and it was STRONG cajun style coffee. My heart would race like crazy. Now, I'm down to 4 cups a day. Not trying, just getting old I suppose. lol

Still trying to get my Better Half to understand the nicotine thing. I explain that nicotine is NOT the carcinogen, but that doesn't always get remembered :(
So true! People think they can get "poisoned" by touching a wall where someone smoked. And that even AFTER it's cleaned off, it will still poison them. Oh brother. lol

I only have family thinking I spend too much money on Devices etc. They think I have a ton of mods lmao which I don't. And it's my money to spend anyway!

I can think about what I have spent vaping two ways. As a straight up expense how I track it or an investment in my future. With what I have spent since November I should be good for gear for at least 10 years. Still need to pick up a couple of litres of nic and am looking for some more kayfuns for the stash.

Right now I could vape for the rest of the year for about $100 compared to $4000. Once I put some thought into DIY I should be set for a long time

I quit cigarettes the first day I tried an "e-cig" which I ordered online pretty blind..just read a lot of reviews, crossed my fingers, and pushed the button. When it arrived in the mail, I assembled it gave it a couple of puffs and declared "I can do this!". That was that. I never picked up a cigarette to smoke again.

I LOVED smoking cigarettes...for 50 years!!! Had no plans in ever stopping.

Ordered an e-cig Starter Kit online...only to use in restaurants, grocery store, etc.

When it arrived I filled it with e-joose...took 5-10 puffs...and put it next to my pack of analogs.

Interesting (to me)...every time since then (over 2 years) that I've wanted to...inhale some "smoke", exhale some "smoke" and get a hit of nicotine...I've picked up my e-cig.

[So...I kinda' quit smoking "by accident"...]

ahh finding USB ports to charge devices!! It used to drive me crazy that the Ego chargers had such a short cord! Ended up buying a USB Power Strip to charge a few at a time plus cell phone.

    Agree Mikey...

For a measly $11.99...I was able to group all my charging Mods in one place...and free up multiple wall outlets that were filled with wall warts...

Amazon.com: PowerBot® PB5000 40W 8-Amp 5-Port Rapid Charger USB Wall/Desktop/Travel Smart Charging Station w/ Ultra High-Performance Intelligent Smart IC Technology for iPhone, iPad, Android, Samsung, Nokia, HTC, LG, Nexus, Motorola, Tablets, Camera, Smartphones, PowerBanks, Portable Chargers and More: Cell Phones & Accessories

I find the most challenging people to deal with in regards to vaping, are those who have never smoked. My partner being one of them. "You're still using nicotine", is all that is said.

    Vaping for nicotine advantages?

It was harder for me. I vaped AND smoked (less of course) for around 4 years before totally quitting cigs.
Like gerrymi, I kind of quit smoking cigarettes by accident (a happy accident!).

I loved smoking but it really annoyed the neighbour above us. I only smoked on our patio and my cig smoke would drift up to her balcony . So I decided to buy an e-cig to use when I was home; hoped it wouldn't bother her.

I remember walking out of the B&M with my first purchase and after taking a couple of vapes I realized I could really like this little gizmo!

I had about a half pack of smokes left; so I alternated between the stinkies and vaping until the pack was empty. I could have zipped to the store to get a fresh pack but decided to wait until the next morning. Well, the morning came and I figured I'd put off heading to the store and stick with my vape.

Fast forward 7 months - I never went to the store and haven't had a stinky since.

There's too much I enjoy about vaping to go back to smoking.:banana::banana:

I had quit many times before, all unsuccessful. However, I was beginning to think that my progressive hearing loss could be slowed if I quit smoking. I picked up a cigalike at a local tobacco shop, and never smoked another since. Soon after, I was having awful vertigo and nausea with 18 mg. I went to see my Dr about it, and he pointed out the fact that nic affects the ears. Put me on a course of prednisone, and supported my decision to take meclizine. Also recommended that I go to 0 nic, because I am especially sensitive. I did that, but noticed lower mental acuity. After reading up on the myriad of ototoxins, I realized that it is humanly impossible to avoid all ototoxins. So bumped it back up to 3mg.

Audi also told me that anything that affects the circulatory system affects the ears.

I just went back to a forum I used to participate in, almost three years ago, and re-read my posts.

I have a Doctors appointment on Thursday,it's because lately (as of last week Tuesday) I sorta fainted 3 times last Tuesday morning and have felt dizzy ever since. When looking up,getting in or out of bed,and turning my head side to side I feel like I'm going to keel over,it's worst in the morning.

Not a good thing for sure. Good Luck with the Doctor. I hope all goes well and it's something minor that will either pass or can be corrected.

Yikes - good thing you're seeing your doc. Sounds like inner ear problem.

    Good luck, sorrynomore.
