where have you been, boden? :?: just get any in the eleaf series gs air tanks/cartomizers and your wish shall be granted! ;)
I was reading the specs on those. Please tell me 8w-20w is just a suggestion. I'm usually around 7-8w.

First off, it's too easy to ruin a carto. If there is even the smallest pocket of dryness at the bottom, you get a burned hit and, as far as I can tell, a ruined carto. Any way to salvage them?

Second, it seems like a lot of them slide around and leak. I found some cheap ones that lock up good, though. I still managed to burn a carto in one.

Nope, once burned, trash. Unless you want to go back to the days of blue aquarium foam

Maybe find some replacement o-rings for the tank, but....

If the carto is a horizontal coil one you may be able to pull out the filling and replace with cotton be sure to tamp it down in the bottom and fill in small bits not one big piece. I used to do this on short 808 cartos. While empty rinse the carto out well with warm water.

Attention all Manufacturers!!!

We need new Tootle gear! Enough with the inefficient, huge, power hungry vape gear!!

I personally want better cartomizers with a bit more airflow, get on it!!!

That is all... Grrrrrr

(That'll show em)

Now that's just weird. You know I recently started using my cartotank gear again, then got this nifty new tank PIFed to me, which I'm really enjoying. But one thing I noticed right off the bat... a carto has more airflow than an Achilles RDA. :D Seriously, it does, it's a more "open" draw, than what I get from the Achilles, and I have the whistle-screw removed from both my Achilles.

Truth. That 2nd one I burned last week, even though I had hit it VERY lightly, at only 7.5w... even after it got fully saturated, and I could taste the ejuice... I still tasted the burnt. Ick.

Thanks for that info. Glad I did not order an Achilles, would be too tight for me.

Well, it's actually pretty close... but I think the carto has just slightly more airflow than the Achilles, even with the whistle-screws removed. When I first started vaping on the cartos again, it seemed really open to me, compared to what I've been used to for months now with the Achilles.

I've started using DCT's, but the learning curve seems a bit steep for such a simple tootling device.

First off, it's too easy to ruin a carto. If there is even the smallest pocket of dryness at the bottom, you get a burned hit and, as far as I can tell, a ruined carto. Any way to salvage them?

Tips appreciated.

The whole entire thing is, it has to be FULLY saturated before you apply any power to it, which was what I ran into last week when I burned a couple. If your cartos don't have the flange, then the "condom method" is by far the best way, as it soaks them from the bottom-up instead of top-down. Apparently if the cartotank is very tight, it makes the saturation thing even more critical, as I discovered with my new IBtanked cartotank. Nevermind 5-10 minutes... maybe an hour, soaking in the juice. If I hadn't gotten a "thingy" (the plastic tube IBtanked ships their tanks in), I'm not sure I'd EVER have gotten that thing fully saturated, since I use flanged cartos that won't fit in one of those little "condom" caps.

I wouldn't mind having Neil Young's guitar talent at all. Great player. I absolutely hate most of his music, though. (Dives to avoid flying shoes) I know several of his songs, though, 'cause the other guys in the band enjoy playing "Rocking In The Free World" and "Powderfinger". 'S alright, though. They have to play rhythm and background while I play my little surf medley.

BLASPHEMY!!! :D

Wish they made a more airy version of the Achiles, but then I guess that is pretty much what the Kayfun tanks are....

Or a Magma. I can still use those, for at-home vaping, but it's definitely airier than what I'm used to, even with just the one tiny hole used. If you put a 15mm o-ring under the AFC ring, the ring will stay put, and it doesn't leak quite so much.

Sigh. I'm having a bad vaping day. Ever had one of those days where it seems nothing wants to work?

Having heard for a long time how great Ikenvape cartos are (I've always used Boges), I got a big bunch in the other day. Yay for vapemail! Except I can't get the things to wick. They fill great, using the condom fill method. But they just aren't wicking in my tanks, and I can't figure out why. I've tried my 50/50 juice, and I've tried my 85% VG juice, and neither one will wick. Surely this has to be user error?

And my 6 week old iStick 50 is dying in front of my eyes. I bought it the day I decided to go back to vaping, at my son-in-law's recommendation. It keeps changing itself back and forth between watts and volts, and now it fires sometimes when I push the button. My only backup right now is my old MVP 2.0 that no longer holds much charge.

It's just not a good vape day.

Even if you don't have one of those IBtanked "thingies" ... if you have something like a small pill bottle from a pharmacy that doesn't have a childproof cap, that your cartotank will fit into, that might also work to force the air out of the carto -- when you tighten the cap, you should see air bubbles escaping from the carto; do it several times, until there's a bit of juice in the bottom of the pill bottle.
