Yes, I should have paid a bit more attention, since it was an under $10 clone. The airflow is on the side, but I think I will take that screw all the way out. I keep hearing a whistle and wondering if that is what is causing it.

Yup some whistle some don't.

1. Take out the screw and the whistle should stop. Also look inside to see if there are any burrs in there that might cause the whistle.
2. Some wrap plumbers tape around the air flow screw and put it back in the hole.
3. You can take a Dremel or drill and chamfer the airhole a bit to get rid of the hard edge.
4. Some put a little piece of mesh wick in the hole to stop the whistle. Don't push in too far or it will short against the center pin.
5. Pick up another clone, Tobeco or EHPro.

This is a 3.1. I'm wondering how the kayfun Lite v2 plus is different.

the 3.1 is much taller. The KFL+v2 moves the AFC to the underside of the base alongside a more recessed fill screw that now sports an o-ring. The v2 also has a redesigned drip tip.

The 3.1 has so much stainless it is quite heavy compared to the other Kayfuns. Other than the catch cup at the bottom and that horrid fill port, the workings are the same. The chimney o-ring in the 3.1's top cap is not trapped like the other KLF's so you have to be sure it's in place when reassembling unlike the other ones.

Did you take off 510 screw and the catch cup to tighten the positive block? The 3.1 has a 2 piece center pin, unscrew the 510 screw, take off the bottom catch cup, ant tighten the slotted part of the center pin underneath.

I treat the pos/neg block like a bolt, put them in between an adjustable wrench which will keep them parallel, then tighten the part circled in green very snugly. That way when you have to take the catch cup off (it will get juice in it) unscrewing the bottom 510 pin will not disturb the positive blocks position.

These are full kits with the Nano tank, M tank and all the parts. These have a single adjustable air hole and a nice recessed bottom fill screw with washer.

Yes... but, as you use it, the whistle gradually goes away; I noticed it a lot at first, but never hear it anymore.

The same setup applies to the Achilles, but the draw is so tight on those, I just took those whistle-screws out. The Kayfun is too airy to do without that screw, for me.

But those are EHpros... so inside the chimney top they're flat, not conical, and WILL make you go "so what's all the excitement about, with kayfuns?" Just very flat, muted flavor. To really find out what the excitement is about, that chimney-top needs to be conical on the inside.

Watch that airflow screw if it is on the bottom (I forgot which one you picked up) and you put it on a mod with slots in the 510 top. The airflow screw can work itself loose and fall into one of those slots, this makes it impossible to remove the Kayfun without damage. People take the screw out completely or put a piece of tape over the screw to keep it in place.

Once adjusted to my prefs, I put a tiny dab of rubber cement on 'em.

I'd suggest the chamfering of the air intake for that. I've found on my 2 3.1 versions that removing the adjust screw entirely increases the odds of some leaking, especially when filling.

Some V2 models have one air intake, some, (the + version, or the Lite +, I think...) have two. But all of them are a bit shorter and lighter than the 3.1. And most of them will take a standard drip tip. Some 3.1s come with an adapter to do that, some don't, so you're stuck with the "factory" tip.

You are right, I've never noticed that before. The chimney top is still conical so I just had a look inside my Undead (EHPro Version) and it is flat across the inside.

The only inside conical ones I have are two nano chimney's and one of those came with the Undead.

I couldn't find any decently priced Tobeco versions to link for Linda and I have never had a issue with my Undead (EHPro).

Here's an airhead question for you all (but I'm being serious, believe it or not). I'm trying to figure out the best way to get my juice to last in my GS M tank. I saw where Lynn mentioned that less air flow is less "wasteful" of juice (implied in her post). I have a strong menthol and am not particularly worried about flavor since it's good. When I started with the Air tanks I was opening the air flow between halfway to full open and it was fine tasting (and cooler!) but seeing the comment about the juice burning up quicker that way I started to re-think my ways. Please bear in mind I am a newbie with the clearo type tanks! My main concern at this point is conserving my juice as much as possible for a chain vaper to do. The dang dual coils of the GS air coils are aggravating because I know they do burn juice faster (and I've never been a fan of dual coils). What is the best thing for me to do? Tighten up the air flow or open 'er up? I DIY my juice...but I really don't enjoy doing it. I do like the savings and my recipe flavor, however. I just don't want to spend so much time making juice...but I don't want to have to monitor myself constantly trying to conserve. Can anyone help? (sorry...I got wordy again! It's my nature). Bottom Line: Which will help conserve my juice? Open airflow or tighter? (I know nothing can be done about the dual coil factor)

No...at least not with the ohm level I want (1.5). All they offer is the dual coils in the "original" GS air coils.

Sorry you got a rattler AFC on your GS. I have two...and neither rattle. One is very loosey goosey to adjust, the other is much tighter. Both work fine, though...and are quiet! lol!

I had a couple of Tobeco KFL+s first, and when I got my EHpro, got it ready to vape, filled, took the first hit... I'm like.. "well, it's pretty (I got a gold one).. but where's the flavor?" For a long time I couldn't figure it out, why it was so lackluster compared to my other two... but the last time I had it all apart, I happened to notice... that chimney-top has the conical shape on the outside.. but not in the inside, it's durn near flat -- a lightbulb suddenly flashed on, and I realized why its flavor just never equalled my Tobecos'. So when I bought a black one, I made sure to get a Tobeco. And the flavor is just as good as the first 2 tobecos, but for some reason, that black one has always had a very slight leakage problem. I've replaced every o-ring, to no avail. I was thinking very seriously of performing major surgery on it and replacing the insulators, to see if that would help, but around then is when I got my first Achilles... and Kayfun problems suddenly seemed a bit moot. So the black one has sat in a drawer for some months now, and probably would still leak.
