I have found that SOME evod coils are a bit shorter than the T3 and protank coils and will cause some gurgling. However the T3 coils WILL work ok in the Evods so I have gone to all T3 coils in everything. Protank, Evod and T3.
So your telling me theT3 coils will fit the protank 2?

Yes, and also a Hypertank and Hypertank2, ARO and ARO Pyrex, and Mini PT I and II -- all single coil tanks.

Wow, you all! Thanks for all the great tips. I didn't realize there were so many Kayfun experts in here. :D

the 3.1 is much taller. The KFL+v2 moves the AFC to the underside of the base alongside a more recessed fill screw that now sports an o-ring. The v2 also has a redesigned drip tip.

Well I could definitely use shorter. This 3.1 is the tallest atty I have. I thought my Rose and Taifun were tall, but the Kayfun is definitely taller. And heavy. I did go to Fasttech last night and order a bell cap for it, though. That should make it lighter, and I like to be able to see my juice level. :D

Did you take off 510 screw and the catch cup to tighten the positive block? The 3.1 has a 2 piece center pin, unscrew the 510 screw, take off the bottom catch cup, ant tighten the slotted part of the center pin underneath.

kayfun_airduct.jpg

I treat the pos/neg block like a bolt, put them in between an adjustable wrench which will keep them parallel, then tighten the part circled in green very snugly. That way when you have to take the catch cup off (it will get juice in it) unscrewing the bottom 510 pin will not disturb the positive blocks position.

Thanks for that great pictorial explanation, TD. I didn't realize I needed to take off that catch cup to really tighten the positive post good. I'll do that as soon as I vape this tank down.

@Oregon Linda if you want a nice KFL in either Black or Gold, EV has the Black one for $16 and the Gold for $13 (Once you hit the selection dropdown). These are full kits with the Nano tank, M tank and all the parts. These have a single adjustable air hole and a nice recessed bottom fill screw with washer.

ETA: Searching for Kayfuns for others makes me want a Black one too...

I like that black one, too, and will try to find a black Tobeco as Andria mentioned to compare it to. It's not like I really need another RTA. My collection is going to be as big as Roxy's before long. :D

Here's an airhead question for you all (but I'm being serious, believe it or not). I'm trying to figure out the best way to get my juice to last in my GS M tank. I saw where Lynn mentioned that less air flow is less "wasteful" of juice (implied in her post). I have a strong menthol and am not particularly worried about flavor since it's good. When I started with the Air tanks I was opening the air flow between halfway to full open and it was fine tasting (and cooler!) but seeing the comment about the juice burning up quicker that way I started to re-think my ways. Please bear in mind I am a newbie with the clearo type tanks! My main concern at this point is conserving my juice as much as possible for a chain vaper to do. The dang dual coils of the GS air coils are aggravating because I know they do burn juice faster (and I've never been a fan of dual coils). What is the best thing for me to do? Tighten up the air flow or open 'er up? I DIY my juice...but I really don't enjoy doing it. I do like the savings and my recipe flavor, however. I just don't want to spend so much time making juice...but I don't want to have to monitor myself constantly trying to conserve. Can anyone help? (sorry...I got wordy again! It's my nature). Bottom Line: Which will help conserve my juice? Open airflow or tighter? (I know nothing can be done about the dual coil factor)

Fourthrok, I'm going to make a different suggestion - rebuild your coils. Most of us who rebuild them are doing them single coil. That will conserve juice. And they're not hard to rebuild. Cheechako did a video of the process and has some information on his blog. I'm really not sure if the airflow setting is going to make a difference. I guess the way to find out is just to try it.

Yes, I agree -- this is just one reason I've always liked single-coils, they don't waste juice or battery power -- and also why I try to stay close to about 2 ohms -- 1.5 to 2 -- because it conserves battery power. It makes a cooler vape than a dual-coil too, which is very much my preference.

Thanks, Andria! Does that one include the short and long plastic tanks? I really like to be able to see my juice level. :D

I think just the short; I already had a long "smoke" colored one, that I use with the gold one, which looks amazing with the black one -- also have a short "smoke" one -- I went kinda nuts for a while on different lengths and colors of the plastic tanks. :D Kidney Puncher has them for amazing prices; before I learned that, I bought quite a few on eBay and paid more.

You do realize that the bell cap is not top fill, as long as you have no issue filling the 3.1 through the fill port in the base a bell cap looks great on them.

If you didn't get a Bell cap with it's own chimney then your stock chimney will protrude out the top not that far. This is fine if your stock drip tip fits the bell cap without wobble, if it doesn't then you will need a drip tip with at least a 5mm opening in the base for the chimney to poke through.

I would...if only I didn't have rather bad arthritis and not-good eyesight. Someone here has already offered to rebuild my GS air coils...I just have to get a suitable envelope to send them now (we haven't been out in several days, which is common with us since we are both disabled and don't go out much anymore). ANYway...out of curiosity (and because @Katdarling is wanting a "report",) I broke out my Cero tank I got last June but really haven't used it since I fell in love with the GS M. I can use the Aspire BVCs in the Cero though..single coil. So I'm going to try it out and see. So far I'm ripping through the juice because LAWD!!! This Cero tank vapes sooooo smooooooooth and awesome! I'm also getting a trifle bit light headed, and that's really saying something since my current juice is only 3mg!! Whew! I've gotta slow down here.

The experimentation continues......

Thanks, Andria! I just found them and they seem to have lots of different colors. :D

Oops! I didn't even think about whether it would fit with the current chimney. They had some that came with a chimney, and I didn't get them because I thought "I already have a chimney, why pay for another." Now I see why!:D The bottom fill doesn't bother me at all, since I use needle cap bottles.

Leave the AFC where it is and turn down the wattage. Or, up your nic level so you don't have to Vape and refill as often.

I'm already as low as I can go on MVP and iTaste VV V3s. I guess I could break out my iStick and see if it'll let me go lower (I'm on 6 watt now.) I've increased my nic from what I was using at 2.4mg. to 3.1mg.

Only real option is higher resistance coils then.

hahaha!! At that rate, I guess I'll just have to brace myself to having to make more juice more often! I've already got a stock of the GS Air coils ..and the highest they go is 1.5 and I like them. So there is that. I have some Aspire BVCs that I can use in my Cero...I do think I have a box of 2.1ohm, but most of them are 1.8 (but read as 1.5 in my MVP). I have some Kanger coils (also for the Cero and for a couple of Kanger Genitanks I have) but I know I don't have anything more than 1.8s for those. So....having invested that much...I don't think I'm going to go hunting for higher ohms at this point. Part of the reason I didn't like having to make so much juice so often was not only not particularly liking to do it...but also the additional cost of supplies with the need for more juice. (shrugs) Oh well. Can't win for losing, I guess. I'll just have to deal with it. At least making more juice is less expensive than replacing a pile of boxes of coils!! (money is always a big consideration on a fixed income!)
