My beloved son (now about to turn 10) had "hyper-alert colic" (not the same as normal colic) as a baby. 15 minutes of sleep at a time while someone was holding him was the most we could usually get.

The sleep deprivation got so bad my wife started having anxiety attacks, and I almost lost a finger in the machinery at my job.

Look up Dr. Sears and "high needs child" the best advice my wife and I found for the situation.

What sleep deprivation can do...I need some sleep. My daughter is almost yhe same, can't sleep alone for a long time, has to sleep while we're holding her.

+ That she was 3,5 months premature and we slept at the hospital for 3 months, unsure whether she'd be alive or not when we came back home again. And having a SO with a very complicated chronic sickness, making it difficult for her to function every day in terms of jobs, house work etc.

On top of this, we're still in our teens trying to make everything go on wheels.

Most of our friends has "left us" and we're pretty much alone in this situation.

And vaping is one of the things which keeps me going.

Sorry for this long, personal post, hope no one got bothered

:)

Don't be sorry - check that Dr. Sears link the techniques work, even though my wife and I found them a little late for with our son.

If vaping helps keep you sane through this, keep tootling away.

I will when I come home, thanks :)

I'll tootle away, it really helps. A force quit right now, would've demolished me. I'm getting more and more addicted to vaping and the nicotine currently. Probably due to extremely high stress levels.

While internet forum friends may see pale in comparison with real life friends, there are certain advantages ;) One of which of course is you don't have to put up with their little bas ... darlings ... destroying your house and or your routine.

IFF are there 24x7 when you need that little bit of support, with rarely a negative thought because we have a common bond. This thread is outstanding proof of it ;) And ... some of us have good ideas too

I like that there are devices out there that will send help if you are unable to dial 911 yourself, I really do. A group of us just could not help but notice it is always a female (and old woman) who has fallen and "can't get up." I have never, not even once to this day seen an old man depicted as vulnerable and totally helpless in one of these scare commercials. We have renamed it "the health scare system."
Women are more likely to become the frail elderly. Men are more likely to die suddenly. Take a look at the gender disparity among nursing home residents. It is a stereotype, though. Men might more likely accept a dog trained to alert others.
Granny flats and trailers are a good alternative. Zoning ordinances can be a problem with trailers.
Not helping. Really expensive and nic not allowed to sell within the border limits, except for in cigarettes..

That and the alcohol laws. I thought Norway had advanced beyond those antiquated standards.

If you quit cleaning and showering so much, guests are less invasive...

Had a neighbor in Texas that would show up right about dinner time, especially if I was grilling. About the third she came over I let her eat dinner with us then put the dishes on the ground, let the dogs lick them clean then put them back on the shelf. She asked if I was going to wash them. I said "Why? The dogs cleaned em".

She never came back...

Amen to that!

I like my space, and I can be very much a loner most of the time. Last year my mom fell, broke her hip and was on the ground for 6 hours before anyone found her. She couldnt get up her steps to get to the phone, so I knew I had to do something. She lived a good 20 minute drive from me. I ended up buying her a new trailer and putting it on my property and it works out good. I can check on her frequently now and she knows not to just show up or my pit bull will jump all over her (he loves his grandma). When my nieces comes weekly to visit their grandma they know better than to come back to see me for I told them my house is not child proof and I have loaded guns all over (I dont, most of them are in the gun safe but its a good excuse to avoid company :) ) plus the pit gets wound up around kids and knock them down and licks them until they scream and are giggling which means the kids are now wound up and the nieces hate that lol. So for the most part I have it made, family avoids my house like it has the plague!

Like I had said earlier my wife is from Canada. Now that's funny because my MIL who now is 87 had hip replacement surgery 3 years ago. My SIL who lives less than a 1/4 mile away couldn't care for her and my wife had to take 2 flights and then drive 3 hours to take care of her mother. Now I always told my wife I have no problem anytime she wants to see her mother.

Well low and behold, thanks to socialized medicine the hip they put in is defective and needs to be replaced again next month. So of course dear sissy in law has told my wife she has her own life and won't be able to care for her. So the wife is once again traveling, taking the 12 hour trip to take care of her mother while sissy who lives down the block continues to have a life!!!!

Like I said you can pick your friends but not your family!!!

This import level is a bit of an eye opener. Did I ask if you could buy nic Eliquid locally.
In NL we still can, but max 10ml bottles. That also applies to nic containing base. So we tend to order base from abroad.
I subscribed to Vapebox some months ago, and loved it. But only one box made it through customs. Had to pay up for the rest, which made it way too expensive to keep the subscription. Ordering within the EU is usually no problem (untill customs really start checking, cause much is illegal here....), but ordering from China takes a bit of calculating. Ordering from US takes a whole lot of luck.

I just came across this site if anyone is interested. I really like wood box mods. These are wood wraps for your mods. I think they look really sharp. I also think the price is not bad considering what other wraps go for. Here's their site.

Most guys will spend their entire life refusing to ask for directions, or a helping hand so you really think they are going to sit back and say "I need one of those"? We are hardheaded to say the least and we are proud of it. Thats why it is marketed to women. Now a guy will get one for a parent or someone close to the family but for themselves, no way.
If I'm that old, living by myself and I can't get up from a fall, it's time for me to go.

Works for me -- the housecleaning part anyway. My mom and my aunt know that I mostly can't be bothered with housework... and they're both neat freaks, so messy houses distress them... so they just don't show up. My mom is mostly house-bound anyway, and my aunt is as much a loner as I am. And I have zero siblings, so no problems there. I would hate having the kind of family that just shows up, uninvited and unannounced.

That's true! My stepfather had already gone to "gray all over and sweating" before my mom could convince him to go to the ER, when he had that massive heart attack in March. Good thing he went when he did, because he had no sooner walked in the ER doors when he just collapsed.
