I use one of these on my Origen Genesis since the threads on it are aluminum.

Origenny & Nextgen with the above adapters.

Thank you.

Two questions though. Does it matter which type, or is that only the looks? Heat sink, what does it do?

A Heat Sink dissipates the heat so your mod and atty don't get too hot.
^^^ This right here.

Thank you.

Since you are not really going to be using it as a heat sink, it is a matter of looks and functionality. The Origen has aluminum threads which are soft and the mod has stainless steel which are hard. Eventually the aluminum threads will wear and develop a sloppy fit. One of those heat sinks lives on the Origen permanently to protect it from stripping out completely which is why I picked one up.

If you are going to get one, make sure you get a stainless steel version as the copper and brass versions as soft as well.

The center pin on the one I linked has a slot in it but it does not turn, it's not threaded, to adjust it you push the adapter down on a hard surface which slides the pin up, screw your tank on, then attach it to your mod.

Some of the other ones on FT like the Kepler has adjustable screws.

Alright. I'm not using it as a heat sink, but only to longer the threads' life. I'll have a look. On a cool fire iv with aerotank mega.

Started with 18, and found it lacking... went to 24 and quit smoking. Stayed there for a few months, then dropped to 18, while I still sit, with no plans to go lower.

With the growing body of real evidence on nic's benefits, and being of advanced age, well, it just seems like a good thing to me :)

And like many others, can go a lot longer without vaping that I ever could without smoking.

We could NOT be more aligned in thought.

Also Nicotine is an Anti-Anxiety/Depression substance as it works on Dopamine Receptors(Much more also), so in a way, its similar to meds I am prescribed!

Heck, that's one of the main reasons I started smoking. I've lived with PDD (Persistent Depressive Disorder) for a very long time.

Try some plumber's / mechanic's thread tape.

The threads are where the atty gets its ground from so you dont want to put teflon tape on them. Best thing is just to not over tighten them.

In the year plus I been vaping I have yet to strip out any atty or mod. I been using STM's since may/early june and they see the most use for daily I have to take them off the mod to fill them up. All three of my STM's threads are fine as well as the mods they screw down onto for I never over tighten them. Snug is good enough.

I was a 3 PADer myself. Started smoking True's because thats what i swiped from the ol man lol. Then Winstons, Marlboro's and Camels.

Tried Luckys and a few others and ended up on cowboy killers for many years. As a kid you could go into a store and tell them your mom or dad wanted a pack of whatever and they would sell it to you as long as it was for one of your parents.
Oooooooh! True was my brand in college! Ah, memories! I got such a kick out of the little plastic channel things in the filter. I think they changed them to paper at some point, but by the time that happened I'd moved on to a different brand.

Decent cheap cigs here in KY $34/carton. Marlboro about $45/carton.
The little cigars about $16/carton.
Thus why, in the latter days of my smoking I switched to "Clippers" or the little cigars. At the time I moved on to vaping 4 years ago they were about $15.00 a carton here.
