A year ago I was not vaping at all. 2 more weeks till one year.

Happy early vape-a-Versary, Mr. Cromwell! WELL DONE!!!!!!!

The first year is possibly THE most exciting, enchanting, and flavorful. Enjoy every step of the way! Congratulations.

It seems we had a bit of an earthquake here on the west coast last night. I'd put myself to bed around 11 and sawed logs through the entire episode.

For as long as I can remember we've been warned there could possibly be a "big one" here. Last night was a reminder to get that emergency kit together. And a separate one for my vape stuff!!!

Happy Wednesday all.

So is Victoria an inch closer to Vancouver now? ;)

Let's see, a year ago ........ My Mako Midi was a Maxi and had the 14650 tube on it I believe.

Now it has the 14500 tube back on it and is back to being a Midi.

Just a ways south of you, jusk, and I slept through it as well. Of course, being out in "the country" where a trip to market eats up most of a day, we're usually well stocked - unless it's the day before market day!

As far as my hardware advances over the busy year, most of my tubes are still in rotation, but I did add a handful of box mods, all replaceable battery. A couple Cloupor minis and a couple Ola X heros. Love both. And a few more of those and other on-sale regulated boxes for the vapocalypse...

My biggest change though was moving into the world of diy juice and stocking up on nic.

Just had to google the Ola X Heros, the 30W style looks good as well as the 60W VW/TC.
The regular 60W with the firing button on the side, I couldn't do lol

How well do they work in just VW at low power such as 5-10Ws? :)

This time last year I was happily using my assortment of eGos with carto tanks. After a flurry of trying this and that in 2011-2013 including"fancy" mods and a couple of bottom feeders, some VV and VV/VW stuff, some mechs...I'd gotten turned off when I got frustrated with trying to build coils etc. I was delighted with the simplicity of the PT ego/carto tank set up. Was collecting them left and right with all the clearance sales that were going on in 2014. But mid 2015...the hammer dropped. For some reason my carto tanks were only lasting a day...or less...before the taste totally went funkified. So...with some loving concern, pressure, and generosity from my friends Kat and DPL...I took the plunge and went with atomizer tanks (most successful for me is the GS Air M and the Cero tank) and the iSticks. Since then I've expanded a little (still on "last year's models", though...have no use for anything over 20W) and got the MVP 20 and MVP 3 and for Christmas got the Coolfire IV. I have to admit...I'm impressed with the Innokin quality. This year I'll likely save up a bit for a old model Provari. Maybe watch for a box mod with removable batteries that suits my needs (has to be able to go below 7 watts) too.

I remain gun-shy of rebuildables. But accept that it's going to be inevitable I will be forced into trying them again. Just not today! :p

Have two of the 30W Ola X models, and I typically run around 7 - 9 watts, depending on flavor.

Really happy with them, great performers. Only downside for some might be the weight, they are hefty! But really solid and well built, I have the feeling that they're going to hold up well.

And, as mentioned, really comfortable to hold and use, in any grip, left or right hand, index or thumb fire.

for 2016, I'm gonna break my tradition of only internal battery devices
and load up on some 18650 devices...

it is AMAZING how they just keep coming out - over & over & over & over
one after another, all manufacturers trying "oh so hard" to win our bizzness...

this time last year we waited and were very disappointed when they released
    the o-Mighty MVP 3.0 - but 30W whattttttttttttttt

    only to tell us another will soon follow {3.0 60W}

    how time flies

    :tumble:
Ah...but I LOVE my MVP 3.0!! It's heavy as a brick, but I don't care. I love it! I'm thinking of saving up a bit and getting the 3.0 60W version. No interest in 60W...but the battery life at over 4000 mAh? Yeah. I'd like that!

4th dahling, if you'd be ok with exactly 7, but not below, you might like the Kanger Kbox. It's another well-built (fit AND finish) little swappable, and pretty impressive for the price tag. It has an amazingly beautiful matte finish.

Those were some FUN daze, my dear one! It was truly a journey, was it not! You did a bit of kicking and screaming along the way, but wow, when you plunged, you really plunged!

Ahh, the Ole mod! ;) I know DPL would agree with everything you said, and his descriptions have been pretty much identical.

I looked at the Kbox....seems it only goes down to 8W? Hmmm. Also looked at the Ola X: a bit more encouraging as it goes down to 7W. That is the absolute line drawn in the sand...and it's shaky. I vape mostly at 7W now, and would really prefer a bit more "wiggle room" lower. May not be that easy to find, though. Guess this is the "step down" thing Andrea was talking about.

Not the big Kbox. I would not recommend that one.
The Kbox/Subox mini though is good and goes down to 7 watts.
Strange they advertise it as the Subox Mini but it says Kbox Mini on it.

If you want under 7 watts the VTC Mini is great. 1 watt to 75, TC with TCR and even a straight battery mode. Software upgradeable. Sturdy little mod.
