I've looked at the definition and description of Asperger's many times, but always conclude that that couldn't possibly be my problem, because I've always had extremely strong powers of empathy -- when you grow up in a house with an alcoholic, violent mother, you have to learn to "smell" or "feel" the emotions in a room before you fully enter it, to know how to conduct yourself and avoid outbursts of rage.

I've come to the conclusion that I am just *different* from other people, which is why I'm a hermit, and have no actual "friends" -- fighting that difference, denying it, is absolutely useless; I just am. Since I accepted that fact, I've been a lot happier, and fortunately, my husband accepts it too (which my mother never did), and doesn't try to "make me" or urge me to be someone other than who I am.

Most Asperger (specially grown people) pass as normal people because in time they develop the social skills they need. But most are the white fly (aces in sciences and math, profoundly lonely, with few friends and shy away from most social interaction). The best diagnosis can be made by a shrink, and there are degrees to it. This explains why I never had too many friends, took me a long time to develop friend skills. It's just an explanation, doesn't solve anything, but it makes you understand a lot. That's mostly it.

There is also this one which is less than $100 but I'm not sure it fits in a "not expensive" category.

I'm not that fond of that either... But thanks for the tip!

Any of you a squonker? I left behind my Reo a long time ago, but Steamcrave came up with a 75w regulated squonker

This is how I set up my Spheroid: 1mm silica approx 60mm long folded in half. Support the silica with a sewing needle (or 18AWG blunt) and wrap your prepared wire firmly around the silica. Space the coils as this reputed provides the best wicking with silica. Once your coil is wound and mounted on the deck, remove the needle and lightly pulse the coil. Trim the wick to the desired size, prime it and then assemble.

Similarly with ecowool: I used 2mm but didn't loop it. I slid a 18AWG blunt inside the ecowool, then firmly wound a spaced coil around it. Once wound ... {same as silica}
Many Thanks for the info!

I removed the previous contact coil and built a wick with the 3mm Ekowool and spaced .5mm ribbon coil. The hollow Ekowool didn't wick fast enough and I was getting dry hits at 10W. I had used an 18G blunt needle in the Ekowool for wrapping on.

So out came the other piece of 2mm Silica. I looped it twice, put the 18AWG needle in the middle and wrapped a 5 wrap 28g coil on it. This worked much better than the other builds!

I just noticed on the bag of polyfill that was raided from the wife's quilting stash this AM, there is a line on the bag that states Flame ......ant This polyfill was probably sprayed with something during manufacture and probably shouldn't be used, I don't know if that will leech into the juice.

Now that I know it works, time to pick up some proper filler material.
:toast:

I know know you Oz folks spell ecowool like you do... Ekowool is a local product for you where the stuff I have comes from Poland

It's *quite* possible I spelt ecowool/Ekowool incorrectly :D

Actually, I checked and it is spelt Ekowool  I bought mine from http://www.vape-atomizer-mesh.com/products/Ekowool.html many moons ago

I blame my iPad for any spelling issues. It thinks it knows best :p

I call it braided silica :p

Just on the wicking....I am using 70% pg so it keeps up with my vaping technique. I suppose everyone will be a bit different. ;)

I've always sucked at math, though I love science; my truest gifts though are letters; reading, writing, the joy of discussing and analyzing great books with others. Most of the time, I'm a loner, and perfectly content to be that way, as it's who I am. There are occasionally days when I *am* profoundly lonely; for some unknown reason, today seems to be one of those days. Shrinks seem to be as puzzled by me as the rest of the world has always been; the only diagnosis they've ever made that seems absolutely true is Clinical Depression -- sometimes better, sometimes worse; the biggest mistake is ever thinking it's truly gone -- it never is, not really. Sometimes I can ignore it better than at other times.

Perhaps you are quite simply, unique (I mean that in the most positive way).

Hi everyone!! I'm 29 days off of analogs! Thrilled to be here with you ALL!

I think I must be a Tootle Poofer! My happy vape place is 1.5 ohms, 14-20watts (actually, have yet to use 20 watts, but I think that'd be my high end right now).

I'm vaping very happily on my Endura T-18s with prism tanks, my (really old) Vamo V2 with Nautilus tank.

I have tried the sub ohm thing but it makes me feel asthmatic and wheezy and I don't like wide open really airy draws. I have an eVic mini vtc and tried the titanium coil & Ti TC mode but wasn't impressed (maybe I set it too low - there was not much vapor).

To be honest, I really don't like the form factor of box mods. I much prefer a tube style - I just got a Provari P3 + 2 Nautilus tanks off of eBay for $75! I'm excited to try it!

I like my Endura T18 batteries with my Nautilus mini, too - looks so pretty!

Is anyone here like me? Am I in the right place? Not sure what a tootle poofer is, really, but I imagined it to be something like: older-school, lower power devices at super-ohm resistance (as opposed to sub-ohm). Is that right?

What's a squonker?

Do you think I should give up my Nauti tanks in case Vapocoloypse happens, learn to rebuild them, or get into Kayfun single coil building?

Anyone tried the Apollo Vtube V4 (goes to 50W - which seems more than I'll ever need at this point). What about the latest lavatubes or Vamos? I guess I'm trying to decide what to buy other than Provaris in my favorite form factor.

Well - I was a bit all over the place in this post - but mainly wanted to say HELLO to everyone and stand up and be counted amongst the Tootle Poofers!

HELLO! Nice to meet you all! :)

Welcome to the tootle puffers lounge, pull up a comfy chair and at some point our beloved leader will be along to issue you your wrist band (digital only) you can choose any colour as long as it's purple :p

I like both box mods and tube mods, and if you want to know about squonkers (look up Reo) I can't help too much. I actually call them splodgers which is the mess I make when trying to use one :p

I am sure everyone will pile in with some of your answers (we are quite friendly)
I tell everyone I am the quiet one (but that doesn't seem to fool anyone)

Sigelei ZMAX V3 Telescopic Variable Mod

I just picked up one of these. For $9.95 as a back up for my soon to be stockpile of hardware. All I have mod wise right now is the kbox mini. I'm just vaping at 11 watts at the moment. I do want another kbox mini though.
I like my Kbox mini. Wery small and comfortable and does all I want it to do and more.
Got another one on the way.
I got 2 of the sigelli Zmax's a while back for 9.99. A good low wattage mod.
I use mine with my modified T3S's on them at 8 watts.

Welcome, hejira! You sound like a tootle puffer to me. I'll let some of the actual squonkers on this thread answer that question for you. I've actually never tried it. I mainly vape rebuildables now, but still enjoy vaping on my GS Airs once in awhile (they have some similarities to a Nautilus). We're quite a varied bunch here. So ask away - there will be someone who can answer your questions. :)

Have no problems purchasing clones
Are you in the states? If so a couple of vendors had this for about the same price & you don't have to wait for the slow boat from China!
