Well, the long and short of it. I work with a few guys that started, and they said it was way easier to quit analogs this way. I didnt think it would work. I bought a couple blu cigs from walgreens. I they were ok, but didnt last very long. I then found an ego starter set for way cheap. Bought it, loved it. I have moved very quickly to a SmokTech Zmax with tank system. I havent looked back since my first ego 2 months ago!!!

1st post here..initially, i just try the cheap e-cig for fun, found that the hit not on par compare with normal cigeratte. Then started to google about it and knew more about the e-cig world. Bought my 1st lavatube early of this year. Start from there i never touch any analog, even i forgot to bring my pv out.
Now i have better stamina and no more complaint from my family about my smell..
vaping is one of my right choose in my life...

I'm a closet smoker who wanted an easier way to hide my nicotine fix. More importantly, to see my daughter grow up!

Me too... WAS! That all ended in September when my husband finally quit! House is 100% smoke free and I love every non-stinking minute of being in it!

Hubby suggested ecigs for when we travel. Well the seed was planted. I got online and started looking up ecigs. Everything led me to this site.

So I opened the site and started reading, and reading, and reading..... Figured out what a good middle of the road kit would be and got backups. I didn't think it would work nearly as well as it has. The day I got my kit is the day I made an account here. September. I didn't fully give up the cigs until I bought the Vivi Nova. That was the day it totally changed for me. October 15th was my first day without even one cigarette. I never thought it would happen after all the many times and ways I have tried to quit before.

I must say that reading these stories really helps to reinforce the drive to stay off cigarettes. I smoked a pack a day for almost 40 years. Vaping feeds the nic addiction but also that hand to mouth habit that developed over time.

Cudos to all of us that have found our way here. ;)

I had quit smoking in March of 2011 and haven't smoked since, but but when my wife and I started planning our wedding 4 months ago, the stress started making me think that I wanted a cigarette. I bought an overpriced 808 kit instead... Then an EGO tank kit, then a twist and a vivi, then the bombshell and kick. Now we're married, I'm working my way down to 0 nic (I'm now at 6mg), and I think that I'll keep vaping. I just enjoy it and my wife does too!

I had heard about this new "e-cig" thing a couple years ago, and how the FDA wasn't going to approve it, etc. I mean, it seemed like an amazing thing. Perfect for smokers, like myself, that wanted to get off the tar/CO. I didn't get my first one until maybe 6 months ago or so. The gas station was selling a Jasper & Jasper automatic one that looked like a cigarette and had cartridges. I didn't like the inhalation process, but still found it a comfortable supplement to various situations. Eventually, I just stopped using it.

I met someone that recommended these forums to me later on. And man oh man I'm glad they did. I realized that I needed a manual button; and an e-cig that didn't look like a cigarette; one I could use my own e-liquids on. I finally made the jump, and picked one up at a local smoke shop I'd never heard of. An Element or something -- doesn't even say. Just came in a carrying case with "ECG" on it. Ideally, I wanted to get a Joye Ego-C (still do actually), but a few days ago I had just had it with smoking and stopped by the shop. Picked up some grape flavored liquid, and tried it out.

Well, it's been three days and WOW. I'm so glad I had access to this forum to get me more informed on vaping. Manual was the way to go for me. I love it! I placed an order at HeathersHeavenly for some e-liquids (Gandolf, and a sample pack of Heavenly Tobacco, Pirates Booty, Dragons Fire, and Shadowfax).

I'm getting the hang of how to smoke it. Sometimes, I hit it too fast and hard, and it burns my throat. I've found the best way is to hit the button for a half second or so before slowly pulling the vapor into my mouth for a few seconds, let go of the button, and finish the "mouth pull" for a split second after a let go. Let it sit for maybe a half second to a second in my mouth, then inhale it. Great flavor, and easy on the throat.

Anyway, this is getting wordy.

I just really want to thank you guys for all the information you've provided. I've been lurking here a while, without signing up.

Decided I needed to say thx today. ;)

Well like the OP - I too LOVE smoking. I have been at it for 46 years and figured I would probably die smoking - because after all we will all die of something. I have pretty much smoked close to a PAD for most of this time, however since I retired 2 years ago and now have more time - I found that I was also increasing the amount I was smoking.

I had heard of e-cigarettes probably 3 years ago when a friend tried one he picked up at a mall while in Vegas. It didn't work for him and he continues to smoke. I then saw two ladies back in August at the local casino vaping outside with us smokers and asked them a few questions. Read some information on a travel forum from a number of people that were quiting using e-cigarettes.

So - fast forward to Oct this year - I decided that I should give this a try to see if it would help me cut down on the amount I was smoking. I ordered an ePuffer Colibri kit because I definitely had to have one that was just like a cigarette. The kit arrive Oct 30th and I quickly realized that this could actually work since I cut down to 3/4 cigarettes a day.

I then found ECF and started reading and reading and reading some more. Ordered two eGo Twists and some higher nic juice and have not had a cigarette since Nov 22 when they arrived. Still surprised that I have actually quit - because that was never the plan. Now I just have to keep hoping that my best friend who has COPD might consider giving this a try - she has been trying to quit for 2 years using nicorette gum and lozenges. So far she is not interested - but I will just keep on vaping myself and maybe one day soon she will come to me and want to give this a try.

So - while I know this is the best thing I could ever do for my husband, kids and grandkids - I am really still just so suprised that it is working for me:laugh: all the other benefits - smelling better, feeling better, saving money are great - but living is probably the best reason. :)

YES! I just moved into a new house, and didn't want smoke in it. Eventually, even if I said I was going to go outside all the time, I would probably just come back in. Now, all my things are going to not smell like smoke! My clothes, my computer, my ME! lol I know it's just a little thing, next the the health issues, but it makes me happy.

I'd searched and tried all the quit solutions except hypnosis. I used the drugs, the gum, the patch, the lozenge. Each one had down sides or problems that I couldn't deal with. I really wanted to quit too. I met a person that's now a buddy. I asked him lots of questions. He gave me some suggestions and I got my first vape setup and I haven't looked back. I now have people ask me when I will stop vaping but the truth is I don't even want to think of that. Quitting cigarettes was my goal and that's done. I am already stepping down on my nic level but I am not doing that to quit vaping but I may one day.
