I just noticed the following on the site:

In addition, it has been brought to our attention that some of the chemical definitions used for our extractions from natural plant matter are being misunderstood to mean certified organically grown products. We apologize for any confusion this has caused and view any misunderstanding as a failure on our part to properly communicate. In order to avoid further confusion we will also be using this downtime to revise some of our product descriptions to omit the use of the scientific term, organic.

Lots of respect for clearing things up John! :thumb:

Welp I got whatever nic base they have for sale currently a few days ago, just now got around to testing/mixing it. Tested a bit low, but only by about 3mg, and that may just be a margin of error on my part. Aside from that, the nic itself has a bit of a funky odor, I've heard some describe it as peppery. I definately wouldn't say peppery, but I can't quite put my finger on it. Throat hit on even just my bulk mix is insane, which is good. I don't detect much flavor aside from what was already in my atty, and ofc that fades shortly, leaving more or less flavorless nic base. Color is more or less clear, although I have learned that doesn't really matter. I had some nic that was fairly yellowish brown and it tested and tasted just fine. All in all, from the mixes I've made so far, the only difference is throat hit. Not sure if it's how it's processed or I didn't test it right, but since I've not yet od'ed on any of these mixes, it's definately just the juice giving that fantastic TH.

Also, love the fact that I can get TFA flavors from WL... Just waiting for them to get some seedmans in stock for my next order. :D

I received both the Original WL nic base and the new "Ice" nice base being beta tested this week. Both are 100mg/ml and a 60/40 blend. There is a slight odor with the Original base that is significantly decreased in the Ice base. Color-wise, the Ice was slightly more yellow tinged than the Original. According to John it was due to oxidation of the beta blend source (they have been using the same source batch for the testing for about a month) and that when it comes out of beta the nic source will be "fresher" because they go through it much more rapidly than during this testing.

I mixed up two 5ml batches of 20mg/ml 60/40 liquid with 10% TFA Hpno, one using the Original base and one with the Ice base. Color-wise both had an extremely light yellow tinge and to the naked eye there was no difference. I smelled each before I added the Hpno and detected no odor from either 5ml sample. The big difference was in flavor. The flavor was featured in the Ice blend and comparatively muted in the Original. I think I could probably use about half the flavor in the Ice blend than I did in the OG blend and have it still be tasty. The Ice mix had significantly more vapor and throat hit than the OG (we all know that means original gangster base, right? lol). Significantly more vapor. Did I say that already? LOL. To be very clear about that, I'll be rolling down the window in the car when I'm vaping it, otherwise I'm afraid I won't be able to drive. It also had a "fuller" feel to it and a lot less "bite" to it.

I was already pleased with both the quality and price of the OG base, but am LOVING the new Ice base.

I'd also like to add that I did receive the Ice base sample for free, but I paid for the OG base. That didn't affect my findings or conclusions at all, though. If either had sucked, I would have no problems saying so. I seriously appreciate the fact that John is open to criticism and feedback, be they positive or negative and he has answered all my questions and concerns thoroughly, honestly and quickly.

wolcen,
You're gonna need a spice rack to hold all those :)

I only do a couple flavors, over and over. I know, sounds boring.

John sells me these in a 'special size' :)
shhhhh

Don't have any fancy spice racks, but fortunately I did have a bigger shoe box (previous box was for kid size shoes). Now I have to figure out how the heck to use them all. Yep - my order from Friday night is already here today :)

Sorry if this has already been discussed. Is this new Ice base going to be available in 100%VG? Id love to be able to try it if it is. I cant do heavy PG. It does bad things to me.

I have not heard, but I would be very surprised if there weren't a 100% VG option.

I recently ordered two 250ml bottles of nicotine from WL. My question is around long term storage. If they arrive in plastic bottles is it better to transfer to glass bottles and then freeze or is it better to leave in the plastic bottles? Is there any leaching from the plastic?

Thanks.

It's always better to transfer to glass containers.
Leeching isn't so much the problem with unflavored nicotine bases as is oxidation.
Oxygen permeation through plastic is much higher than glass.

If you're going to store nic base longterm, transfer to smaller, amber glass bottles filled to the top to prevent excess oxygen, and freeze.
Only keep out what you're going to use in a couple of weeks.
Heat and light are also the enemies of nicotine.

On a sidenote, while the plastic compounds used for eliquids (LDPE, HDPE, and PET) have good chemical resistance to the solvents in unflavored nic base, flavorings can have components which may attack each of those plastics over time.
Bottomline is glass is always better.

I agree about the oxygen fully, but plastic effects the taste long term in my opinion where glass Bottles do not, everything I have is in glass, from Nic to flavorings,VG,PG and final Juice mix. Glass is well worth the extra small cost for storing and using your liquid gear.

I'm also a fan of glass instead of plastic.

What I'm wondering is if a glass bottle gets filled all the way up, and is then frozen, won't the nic base expand like water would and break the bottle
