Wow we had the worst wind storm ever for here yesterday. Just got our power back still 153000 people without power. Ours was only out for 16 hours. Not sure how many people go hurt or killed not many I think.
Yeah, hard to find out anything with France. If it wasn't for that, the news would be all over it. :/

I had to look into cremation for my brother and his wife and was shocked that the cemetery charges $1500 to "open" the grave for each urn of ashes.
that's crazy.....in 89 when i'd checked on that it was 300.00 to open the grave. It was in a tiny town, but that's a heck of an increase!

This storm was well predicted and most businesses and schools closed early but there are trees down everywhere. Neighbor lost his roof.
oh man........so glad y'all are ok and have heat now!! Did y'all sustain any damage that you know of?

newp, don't remember how it got started, just folks talkin bout what they wanted when
I don't think anything got damaged here, a lot of others around us did. We thought for sure some of our trees were going to go but didn't. I'm glad no one passed on.

Glad to hear you made it through unscathed. So were you without heat for 16 hours? Or did you just huddle around your attys and keep firing them to stay warm?:D

Glad y'all didn't have damage legs! Such a shame for all who did, and particularly the deaths, hope that toll doesn't rise.

Thinking about Christmas gifts.

Since I'm sure you're "Making a List and Checking it Twice" .. ;) .. I figured I'd save you a little time and just go ahead and post mine .. it's so much easier than the gift giver trying to figure out what somebody wants .. ;)

First, although I would, at this point, likely never be able to crawl in and out of it, I would at least try .. but I do promise to keep it garaged and immaculate .. I decided on a convertible since if I did crawl in and out, it would be a bit easier .. the '69 'Vette is the pinnacle of American Muscle Car

Next, I need someone to help me to get in and out of the car and perhaps do a bit of light housekeeping .. .. and she must be able to "wink" ;) (it's a personal thing, don't ask)

And, to go with that 'Vette, a guy's gotta be stylin'

So, that gives you a selection and some ideas .. or, you could just go for the Trifecta and spring for all three .. :)

that was my point. Most folks say I do want this.....I don't want that, don't you dare do such and so, when I'm gone. So they've had their say and naturally folks who are left want to abide by their wishes as best as they can. So when y'all decide, what YOU want done or not done..... talk to those you may leave behind and make sure they're comfortable with it too since they're the ones who have to carry out those wishes.
Yeah, I agree with you, sort of. As far as disposition of the body goes, the deceased's wishes are important to me. As far as how or where to conduct a funeral or a memorial, I'm going to let the living have veto power. It's arbitrary on my part, I realize that, but that's the way it goes.
