Because I'm an energy conservationist (ie. lazy)...and have little interest in DIY...I've kinda' skimmed through the last couple "nicotine buying" pages...

But more important than conserving energy was making darn sure no nannycrat will ever be able take vaping away from me, and the only way I could be confident of that was to have a bunch of nicotine in stock and learn how to mix my own juice. So I did.

Now I doubt I spend more than 3 hours per year mixing, and the supplies I use in a year cost less than $60. Thus I consider it an all-around conservation win.

I’m a plan for the worst type person. I only know a couple other people who bother with mixing. I don’t hassle anyone who won’t, for whatever reason, but if the day comes when they can’t go buy their juice, I’m just gonna shrug and say gosh, that’s too bad. I have enough stocked for myself and my SIL because I promised to make hers. Everyone else is on their own unless they start grabbing some nic.

Right. But we'd be happy to share the techniques, or even mix for someone, if they bring their own nic.

So even if a person doesn't want to DIY now while commercial juice is still readily available, putting a supply of nic in the freezer isn't a bad idea. Worst case is: They'll never have to use it and a few hundred bucks go to waste. Personally, I would look at that as cheap insurance.

I've checked my freezer stock from time to time and it's all clear as the day it was re-bottled into clear glass 240ml sizes. I filled my bottles almost to the top, leaving just enough space to prevent spillage when opened. I didn't use Argon or anything to prevent oxidation and it might turn over the next decade, but I've vaped yellow nic before. At my 3mg/ml strength I don't suppose that will be an issue. I've thought about dropping to 1.5mg strength in the future just to see if it clicks. I chain vape anyway at low nic levels.

Nic has a reputation for restricting blood flow as the arteries temporarily shrink a little from exposure to nic. I remember my first cigarette during a sandlot baseball game when I was about 16. My head spun and my hands got cold!

More than ever, my new purchases of equipment make me pause and ask myself "Should I have spent this on more nic?"

Fortunately, this typically happens after an order is placed, so the fun continues for a bit. I just stocked up a bunch of mods and kits, best hundred bucks I've spent since the ProVari blem/closeout frenzy.

Good thing nic is still available for now. If it could just go on clearance - fresh nic for pennies on the dollar would be an almost religious moment for me, enough to buy another freezer!

How long has the oldest bottle been stored in the freezer?
Also, what base and what mg's?
I have 100mg in VG base only.

Yeah, but how many gallons of juice did you make before you found a recipe you liked? That's my problem. I never cared for the juice I made very much. I like to learn where some of these e-liquid companies are buying their flavors at? Because the flavoring I buy taste nothing like what they use.

It takes anywhere from 2-10 flavors to come up with a decent recipe for the most part. The only flavor I have that I like solo is cap horchata at 6%. Chefs has some good one shots that you just add nic and pg/vg to.

Well I can grow plants, can cook, and I even modify the package recipe since I don't think theirs is so great. I also have good luck with mixing premade juices that I think that would be good together. I think it is the flavorings they use. I think premade juices have a secret source for flavorings that we DIY folks don't know about.

For myself, my first "recipe" has been a main vape for 6 years ... it was unflavored, because a) I figured it best to see what plain/unflavored tasted like before trying complicated recipes, and b) many claimed it was good (and it was). From there it was building with single flavor tobaccos at low percentages, combined tobaccos, and additives/accents (EM, Menthol, Vanilla). Very little wastage -- although one drop of TFA Kentucky Bourbon can wreck just about any volume of anything (in my opinion).

Yes. It's called love. You sort of have to have it.

I'd suggest mixing up some premade base, and keeping things like, simple, plus there are some one shots it is just really hard to mess up. You can certainly IMPROVE them, but they taste fine on their own.

IDK. I'm glad I enjoy DIY (never, ever, once followed a recipe that wasn't mine) but I kind of look at it like... I suck at building though.

Honestly maybe they do have a secret something (to you). I don't like commercial juices these days anyway but I have liked the majority of my creations.

I kill plants. The head of the program where I am at like, left a plant in my office that has been there since the center opened. I'm wondering if it needs to be moved. I water it and beam love at it... But what if it needs more water? IDK, I think I'm gonna have to climb on the cabinet there and see if like, I need to water it WAYYYYYYYYYYY more.

I’ve made some I don’t like, but I have always made juice I do like as well.

The place that made my first ADV told me the recipe and links to where to find the flavors. So I hit it on the first try.

All told I’ve vapes really good juice every day for over 5 years, and I’ve pitched maybe half a liter.

The trick is to start small, pick a profile - bakery, fruit, whatever- do single flavor tests. Plenty of help here, including recipes.

Expect some trial and error, but for me it’s been a lot less learning curve than cooking. If I had a liter of nic for every dinner I threw in the trash...
