For me it's a definite yes. For two reasons.

1. vaping is a hobby for me. Giving up something you enjoy doing is many times harder than just giving up a habit.
2. This one is a theory. I think because the nicotine is of such purity, that the withdrawals from it are greater.

Of course there are many concerns with this, but we can leave that open to discussion.

what about you?

I definitely vape more than I smoked, mainly just because I can. The addiction is considerably less. Now if I'm out and about and my battery dies it's no big deal. If I don't happen to have a spare on me I just don't vape until I get home. I have a tobacco flavored disposable for emergency backup in the car, but I've gone hours without vaping rather than using it.

I don't think I am... by using the standard measure of time between waking and ingestion of an addictive substance...

I could go 15 minutes without a smoke...
I can go 1 hour without coffee...
I've gone 6 hours without vaping.

I usually don't however... I usually vape within about 30-45 minutes... still longer than it took for me to reach for my first smoke.

No.

I've dropped my nic intake from 24 to 9mg. I do Not vape more liquid just because the nic is lower. I still vape the same amount per day. I do not NEED the nic as soon as I wake up, I can now just lay around and sleep in! OMG what a novelty! I haven't been able to do that for years (since I was a teen). This last year that I have been cigarette free has been way more freeing to me.

I believe there are far more addicting things in cigarettes just than just nicotine. MAOI's come to mind.

No I'm not "more" addicted. I CAN go quite a while without a vape. However I do find that if I'm in a place where I would have normally smoked & now vape, if I don't have anything to vape on I'm quite preoccupied with this. However I know that that's a psychological problem & not an issue of actual "addiction". But then usually if I know I"m going to a place like that I come prepared. Otherwise I vape considerably less than I smoked.

I'm addicting to vaping due to how much fun I'm having--not just the act of vaping.
This runs the gambit from flavors to coils....it's just a lot of fun and the things I've learned in under 2 months is astounding.
When I was smoking cigarettes, the only thing i needed to give any thought to was not forgetting a lighter when I'd go out.

I'm with ScandaLeX.

Yes I'm addicted, but in a different way.

I think it's the fact that every week I get a new toy in the mail (feels like XMAS every week!!! :D ) that I can either vape on, or vape with, a new RDA to help me get bigger clouds, or whatever! So, yes I'm addicted to vaping (it's very enjoyable) but I am also addicted to the game of having new toys to play with. :)

I think this vaping habit maybe more expensive then actual smoking! If I stop buying new attys, Mechs, DT, meters, juice etc, I'd be rich!!! lol

rounding third and heading home...
I know I vape a lot more than I ever smoked- still addicted to nicotine but now I have 3-4 really nice flavors I enjoy. regardless of what the stated nicotine level is on the bottle, no one will ever convince me that I am absorbing as much nicotine from vaping as I did from smoking. 18mg is "high"? there are days I vape from the moment I awake to the time I go to sleep pretty much non-stop and I never did that smoking. don't feel any worse for doing it , either. no buzz, no nausea. and I use WTA in everything. it is just different.....

More addicted? Hell no.

You have that whole complex mess of chemicals in smoking that just don't exist in vaping, including a "brain craving" induced from getting MAOI's from cigarettes. The nicotine in and of itself is only part of what you are addicted to while smoking. I've gone for 2 days in hospital without vaping once. Not that I didn't have my gear with me - it was simply a non issue. Even with using my wacky crazy 24 mg liquids. There just isn't the "cigarette madness" in the vaping experience that drove you to always have 3 packs on hand, and scoping out every 24 hour Kwikee mart in a five mile radius when you were down to only 2 and a half packs.

it is just different.....

This is the best way to describe it. While I am addicted to the nicotine I am addicted even more to the actual act of "smoking." That is what vaping filled that patches/gum did not. As I decrease my nic level I doubt that i will stop vaping because it fills that need I have to do something.

I am addicted pretty much the same as far as the act of vaping goes. I need my nic and I need my hand/mouth thingy as much. So I vape.

Am I having more fun with my supplies now than I was with buy a pack of cigs - you bet I am!! I was never too excited to go buy a pack or carton of cigs - I needed to. Now? I am super excited. I also have enough supplies to last me a year right now. Anything I buy from here to a year from now is not necessity, it's just for fun.

I would have to say more addictive.
Most vapors I know increase their nic consumption over their old analogue habits.
One can look at their nic consumption in perspective.
An average American cigarette has an average of 1mg of nic in it. The mg number you see on your ejuice standards for mgs per ml, milligrams per milliliter, thus 1ml of 9mg nic = 9mgs of nic, 1ml of 12mg nic = 12mgs, etc.
Therefore 1ml of 12mg nic juice = 12 (average) American cigarettes, 1ml of 18mg nic juice = 18 (average) American cigarettes and so on.
So if an individual is using the higher juice amounts I see, let's say 4 mls of 18mg nic, that would equate to 4 x 18 = 72 American smokes a day! 3 packs a day, who does that !?
Just an honest observation. I keep in mind the 100's of other hazardous chemicals being avoided with an Ecig conversion.. :)

One of the good things I have retrospectively noted with Ecigs is that 3-4 puffs 'does the job' for me and I am satisfied. The old analogue habit had me 'obliged' to finish the whole cig therefore taking 7-8 puffs. Those last 2 puffs on an analogue must be quite unhealthy.

I'd say I'm still addicted to nicotine & that I'm also addicted to the hobby side of vaping like you OP. I haven't decreased my nic since I've started. I'm mainly at 18mg. But I think I'll adjust it soon only because now that I've gotten into mechanicals, RBA's, & RDA's I'm beginning to feel the side effects of getting too much nic. I enjoy vaping more than I ever did smoking. I'm also enjoying playing around with mechanicals & building my own wicks & coils. Oddly enough I find it to be relaxing. Hummmm...so maybe that means I am more addicted to vaping. Either way I'm much happier & healthier now than I was when I was smoking.

I think it's a win win situation! My wallet would probably disagree with me though. :)
