I purchased the upgrade so I paid much less for mine. I'll have to see what that's selling for on the english site now.

I didn't take any pics of the vertical coil as I gave that up fairly quick. The vertical coil/mesh wick combo wasn't sturdy enough for how often the tank needs filling. Somehow it would get moved around inserting the tank and I even had it flush with the spike.

I'm waiting on longer screws and standoffs to try and raise one of the coil connectors in hopes of correcting that issue.

I also really wish these used the type-B tanks. If a new tank section isn't made for these soon, I may have to make one myself.

Here is a tutorial on the vertical mesh A2-t genisis:

Step 1. remove the negative screw and the brass bushing
Step 2. remove the positive screw
Step 3. Place the negative screw and bushing in the insulated positive terminal
Step 4. place the positive screw with no bushing in the negative hole
Step 5. roll a piece of 400 mesh so that is long enough and thin enough to go through the tank piercing plate ( cartomizer cap on the A2 Italian mod)
Step 6. oxidize the mesh by heating red hot and quenching it in water a few times
Step 7. Make a coil on one end of the mesh wick you created
Step 8. The wire closer to the end goes to the negative terminal
Step 9. the wire closer to the middle of the wick goes to the positive terminal
Step 10. move the wick so that it is not touching anything but the coil
Step 11. Check the resistance with a multimeter
Step 12. place the piercing plate on so that the wick goes through the hole(cartomizer cap on the A2 Italian mod)
Step 13. cut the wick down to the top of the piercing plate tip
Step 14. adjust the end you just cut so it is not crimped shut
Step 15. add the top piece and tank
Step 16. VAPE!

No need to purchase new screws and standoffs. This way works perfect. All you need is an a2 with the Italian mod( cartomizer cap placed in a dse701 cartridge reservoir, no wick) or a2-t, some mesh, kanthal/nichrome, e-liquid, and a pv.

How to make a dse701 to 510 drip/cartridge adapter for the A2:

I emailed Cetin about the dse701 cartridge threading size, he told me it is m12x.75. I am 100% certain this is correct now that I have my new die in my hand with a cartridge threaded into it.

Materials:
12mmx8mm bearing sleave

Tools:
m12x.75 die
11/32 drill bit(optional)
Drill
rotary tool w/cutoff wheel
Vise(optional)

1. cut the bearing sleave down to size
2. use the die to cut threads
3.drill out the 8mm hole to accept a 510 drip tip/cartridge(you can use the rotary tool to bore out the hole)

or you can buy more dse701 cartridges and keep cutting them down and boring them out when they split ;)

Switching the positive and negative screws?

Step 10. move the wick so that it is not touching anything but the coil

Does this means that the wick is floating and kept in place by the coil?
More pics will definitely help. Thanks a bunch BigBulli :toast:

Yes switch the screws and that little brass bushing/standoff on the negative screw. The positive screw is the one with the silicone insulator. The negative screw will than screw flush against the base and the positive one will be raised higher.

Nice posts BigBulli!

I had the screws switched before ordering the standoffs. Switching from the thin nicrome I was using to kanthal stabilized the vertical wick. Kanthal was a major improvement as well.

I like your idea for a shorter tube for dripping. I'm planning a way to go larger though. I want to use type B tanks. It shouldn't be difficult since the spike section is the same diameter for both. I just need a way to thread an eGo sized tube onto it.

Have you tried popping the spike plate out?

I'm afraid of how tight it could be pressed in there and haven't built up the courage, but, I want to turn the spike plate on mine. I noticed one of the vents is almost directly above the air hole. I'm betting it will make a difference turning the plate. More air will reach the coil instead of going straight into the cart is my theory.

Yes, It comes out just like the ego-t atomizer spike plate or you can take a dowel and put it under the spike plate than tap the dowel with a hammer.
