Finally had time messin` with the DiD setup:

Club sandwich toothpick
30mmx35mm piece of mesh
7/64 drill bit

-Oxydize before rolling
-Fold one of the longest side of the mesh 1/8th",roll other side on the toothpick as tight as you can
-Wrap your coil on the drill bit tight, remove

The coil slides right on the mesh with minimal friction, loose enough to be perfect

Prep the mesh (wet,lighter)mount coil,attach to post,vape.

Quicky pic,non-oxydized mesh, unattached coil-explaining why the spacing is whacked)

Duly noted. Think I have a 7/64" bit lying around somewhere, so that'll be handy if I don't get the hang of wrapping the coil directly on the device.

I have an Ody and I really love it. I can rebuild a coil an wick within minutes now. I have tried to put SS mesh into it and all works well for a little while then my wires break. I don't think Ody is meant for SS? I dunno.. have to keep trying to figure it out, I guess.

I have a couple of DID clones coming my way and that should be here next week or the week after or the week after that.

I think I might pick up a couple of those Phoenix because most say they are great.

Yippeeeee! I got my clone yesterday! Being a pig headed type of person, I decided to figure out how to recoil it without re-reading much. Going off memory and pulling the precoiled one apart; I armed myself with a multimeter and set forth into the wild frontier of rebuildables. Needless to say, had a few (many) frustrating moments and learned a lot of things the hard way. That's the way I like to learn sometimes: get things wrong and find out how to make them right.

Happy to report that I can now coil a mesh in around 5 minutes, troubleshoot and fix hotspots, and quickly re-adjust ohms. I think I'm doing it right, will be watching and reading some of the tutorials today. I want to try doing the whole wick this time. Seems the SS mesh it shipped with was a little too fine (400) and I have 325 to use instead.

Also found: if you drop one of those little post-nuts, watch where it goes BEFORE putting everything down. Spent half an hour searching for one. In fact, I will be doing any future disassembly/wrapping over something that will contain any dropped parts, the tiny screws are...tiny and I doubt I'd be able to find a dropped one.

Anyways, vaping just got a little more fun.
