Actually no, I am at work and bored as hell so I thought I would get some people spooled up. :vapor:
You do know that trolling is against the rules, right? Not to mention, you insulted another member and jokingly insinuated they perform fellatio. Not really up to par with standard forum posting etiquette. No need to apologize over and over. It'd be best to just edit out that post and save yourself the trouble.

A quote from the rules-
11. Trolling ('fishing expeditions' in search of a strong reaction)
Trolling includes but is not restricted to:
Posting something deliberately inflammatory - either to start a 'flame war' or simply to cause difficulties for the Moderators.
Engaging in behaviour which is disruptive to the general operation of the Forum.
Deliberately posting something which is against our forum rules.
Flooding the board with comments coming from a single point of view in multiple posts.
Posting snide comments about another member.
Posting repeated criticism of Moderators or their moderation activities.
Comments that insult people on the basis of their sexual orientation, religion, race, nationality, or country of origin.

Personally I like watching the cloud chasers blow these monster clouds. Vapor so thick you could cut it with a katana; it looks cool. I've never been to a comp and don't consider myself a chaser.

Personally, I'd compete in a cloud competition if it was at my local bar or something. Go have a couple beers, see who can blow the biggest cloud. Whatever. While I wouldn't take it super seriously and I suspect a most people don't, i'm sure theres "those few"...

But even such, to each his/her own. There are worse things people can do with their time.

So, the OP admitted he created this thread just to stir up trouble. He said he had nothing better to do, since he was at "work". How can you even call that work? At my job, we actually work.

Anyway, isn't that ironic? Bashing people for being creative and taking something to an extreme, like vaping, and at the same time spending his time trolling because he is bored at work.

I get it, the thread was a joke, I guess.....but perhaps the OP does feel that way, atleast to some degree. I have a feeling he does, along with many other people.

I don't cloud chase, it isn't for me....but I agree 110% with the poster who said cloud chasing is at the forefront of vaping....and much of the innovation in vaping is directly attributed to cloud chasing and cloud comps.

Two words; Yu-gi-oh Tournament.

that's the "lame" winner..my son did that..it was a bunch of prebuescent boys and some creepy 40 year olds *lol*

Magic the Gathering, now that's some lame stuff if you're not playing I guess (that's where Yugi Oh Tourney's go when they kinda grow up) :p

but they enjoy it..it's social, so I say have at it!

Meh... Happens in EVERY hobby. I'm 100% sure that right now out there is a group competing to see who can make a quilt the fastest, who are producing low quality blankets and are convinced that they are "pushing the envelope" and "bringing innovation" to the seamstress world because of their amazing highly efficient methods of quilting.

Anyone thinking that cloud comps are innovating battery tech has an astounding misconception of how small a mark vaping makes in comparison to torches or a thousand other high amperage battery uses.

In the end though, they are having fun, and at the moment it looks like agencies are having more fun trying to kill vaping using bad science than actual evidence, so cloud comps are kind of a "whatever, dude" thing in my book.

A quilting comp on the other hand... That is where the REAL fun is at. :p

Hmm, let's take a look at some non-garbage competitions.

NA Football: An inflated pigskin ball, that isn't round ... just how is this a 'ball'? It's called 'football', but most of the time the players use hands on it. A bunch of men, chasing a pigskin 'football' around a field with yard markers on it and people take this activity so seriously the players are paid millions of dollars a year to do this activity for public entertainment (and big business).

Baseball: Well, at least we have a round 'ball' in this endeavor. We also have some bases, so there are actually bases in baseball

That though is where the entertainment value of this competition ends. I mean, imagine a bunch of grown men standing around, again being paid millions of dollars a year and engaging in a few seconds of intense activity when the ball is stuck by a wood stick called a 'bat' (not the little furry creatures that fly, so at least no critters get hurt).

Totally assinine. Sorta like football (that isn't really played with balls), but in sloooowwwww motion.

Car racing: Said to be a sporting competition. Suuuure.

A lot of people drive cars (can even be done by drivers who are 80 plus years old) and some of them drive faster than others. Race car drivers, some who are again paid millions of dollars a year to do this 'driving fast' thingy, do not race on city or highway streets like the rest of us peons, prefering to 'race' on 'closed courses' with strict racing rules.

LOLOL. Care to join me on the 401 eastbound at Markham Road at 4:30 on a Friday afternoon and see who gets to the 410 first?

Competition vaping, huh. A few people getting together to blow a friendly cloud. Knock yourself out man :)

Can't help but notice you left hockey off that list there eh?

After all did any of us have "who can blow the biggest smoke" competitions when we smoked.

Yes

And who can smoke a whole cig in the least puffs.
And who can do the most tricks.
And who can smoke a whole cig to the .... the fastest.
And who can smoke the most cigs back to back.

Many of us forget we were kids once... and smoking kids at that.

These kids have chosen a better road than we did. Maybe out of disdain and/or jealousy we should condemn them for even having the option?

I have to lol at some of the comments, no this is not a troll thread and no I did not "insinuate" anything. I believe you insinuated they perform fellatio, I said nothing of the sort. Blowing big things... Hmm sounds like you need to get your mind out the gutter. I was specifically talking about cloud comps and mentioned nothing sexual in nature. Also, yes I will end the conversation when people respond in ways that they did. If they cannot discuss it in an adult manner without attacking people then the discussion is over. A lot of "why do you care going on" I care because it only takes one time that someone not knowing what he is doing as far as battery safety or sub-ohming and gets seriously injured or injures someone else at one of these "cloud comps" and he will ruin it for everyone else. I had been a smoker for 20 years, I praise vaping for what it has done for me. Now you got kids entering the scene, never smoked in their life and think vaping is the next fad. It's not a fad, it is an alternative to nicotine intake. Also you can't call vaping a hobby, collecting all the hardware=hobby, yes. Vaping=hobby, no. I vape to stay off analogs.

well, personally i'd say im not for 'competition vaping'. before this incident http://vapordigest.com/vape-show-attendees-remain-calm-despite-possible-tragedy/ , i was more of a, "oh it exists? thats nice" type of person, but it just seems like it just elevates the danger that exists if you are unknowledgable. I'm not saying everyone would have handled the situation the same way, but the guy whos mod exploded just ran and took off, giving the vaping scene more bad publicity. It's another weapon that officials can put in their packs to get the FDA to regulate our devices.

I'm sure incidents like these have happened during private practices of vaping and is not highly publicized as this incident, but when things like this start to show up in publicized events where everyone can see it happen, its not good for the vaping community as a whole, regardless of whos fault it was.

Most of the people you see vaping in these cloud competitions, super low sub ohm setups looks like kids who never spent many years of smoking real cigarettes. I guess it's the new trendy, cool or how I see it (nerdy) thing to do for high school kids.

It almost sounds like you are saying only "experienced" smokers should become vapers. I dont have a 30yr PAD habit under my belt but at almost 25 and a 5 yr PAD habit, I am happy that I switched when I did, and didnt wait until I really destroyed my body, for the sake of not trying to look hip
