Once I took the outer casing off I noticed juice running down the battery side of the VMOD.

So I vaped it with the outer casing off and found that juice was dripping down from the spring portion of the battery connection.

So now I can't vape more then 10 min without everything being a juicy mess!

hmmmmmm, the same thing happened to someone else last night however she did not even drop hers. She got it yesterday in the mail, had used it for a little while and loved it, she put it down for 30-40 minutes and when she came back to it there was lots of leaking. She sent me a PM with a picture, it was leaking like crazy. I wonder what's up with hers leaking for no reason?

I ordered mine on Saturday, it shipped on Tuesday and I havent received it yet .. maybe today.

If you're used to hearing the gurgle of most bottom feeders, & the VMod doesn't gurgle, it's natural to want to push the bottle again. You have to have some blind faith when you feed it. After pushing the bottle once, turn upright for a few seconds, & do a dry suck to pull the juice from the chamber into the carto or atty. Once you get the hang of it, you won't get any leaks.

Have you tried resealing the connector with some epoxy? I don't have one so I'm not sure how easy it is to access the underside of it but probably worth a try.

Hey Puff:

Thanks for the advice but because the internals are so close I'm not quite sure where exactly the leak is flowing from, I just know where it's coming out.

Plus, I'm not sure if it would further interrupt the feeding system or not.

In any case, I appreciate you leading a helpful hand for my Sick little VMOD :-(

Down the rabbit hole..

when you're feeding remember this is a pressure fed system not like a regular bottom feeder so if you over feed it you can force juice out through the gasket causing it to leak...
it works by filling the chamber and chamber feeds atty or carto.... when you need to feed just a gentle squeeze of bottle does the trick...then holding upright do a dry suck to fill atty... allow juice to
go back into the chamber and you're good to go..once I got the feel no more leaks..its a brilliant feed system much easier than normal bottom feeders..

Hey Stashbldr:

I'm really sorry to hear about your friends experience.

However, I can almost bet something probably happened during shipping.

I wouldn't be overly worried about this, mine was working like a champ until I dropped it.

I am going to take AG's advice and call the company to see if maybe I can get a replacement.

I would encourage your friend to do the same as she has a much better case to argue then me lol.

Regardless, I'm still going to get another VMOD they really do work great, just don't drop it ;)

You must have caught it just right!
The plastic carriage is strong.
I've dropped mine a few times & it has made it through just fine. :)

I'm thinking that's what happened. Nothing happened to the outer casing at all.

However, when I was vaping it with the outer casing off I found that juice is dripping off the side of the spring next to the battery.

This happens when I vape it fully upright or slightly turned to my face.

It's like hitting a piece if glass in just the right spot where everything cracks.

Wow, that looks awesome I guess I'm going to have to search for another exotic wood :-( lol

On a more somber note I just got finished reading the Southpaw thread.

Very very sad stuff, I really thought those feeder designs where nice, for anyone on this thread caught up in that mess my deepest condolences.

Now on to a happier topic, who has a Dragon and how do you like it???

We are trying to get a number of how many gave money and received nothing. Once thats done and with generous help we get from the ECF members we will try to get everyone a mod. Its still in the planning stage but we did for those who prepaid on Brad's thread when he disappeared....we can do again.

Wow, I really do think we are the last great community.

It's awesome that you guys are doing that for the ones who got stiffed by this guy.

I have encountered some of the most genuine, giving and self-sacrificing people since I started vaping.

Its comforting to know that I'm apart of a community that tries its best to take care of it's own. :thumb:

Hey Hondo!

1) Some models use a plunger to squeeze the bottle. The plunger system works fine too.

2) Bottom Feeder mods are no different than anything else, to a certain degree. Custom built, hand made wooden mods cost more money. Variable voltage components add to the cost. The USA made aluminum mods are more expensive to produce as well.

There are many starter-type models made now, which are made from battery boxes, & are much less expensive. There are a couple of mass produced production models made, which are filling the gap between the low end & high end models. It's an exciting time for bottom feeder devices...more options, more price points...

So, whether you start with a $30 mod, a $75 mod, a $140 mod, or a $200 mod....they all function in more less the same way, but materials & build quality tend to follow the pricing curve.

Feel free to contact me directly through pm, if you need anything! :)

So just be careful with the VMOD guys, a moderate impact could turn your beautiful MOD into a juice fountain.

.

Mine had always leaked and I thought it was user error. So after reading your post I went ahead and checked my Vmod and it has a tiny crack right next to the threads where you screw the bottle in. I never dropped it so either it came this way or maybe its from over tightening the cone or whatever. I'll try some epoxy and see what happens...

2] The nice, wood models and even GLV3 go for $ 150 to over $ 200. Are the worth 3 or 4 times the price of a Revolution V2.1?

I bought a V2.1 and there's no comparison except for remotely looking similar. The V2.1 is more like a passthrough battery in a box, which also conveniently holds a bottle of juice.
