.....I would be a little paranoid about juice possibly dripping into the case through the swivel arm if it wasn't for the two year warranty.

Brandon said he actually dumped a good bit of liquid in the case through the thumb wheel. The device has a protection circuit and it shuts off. Once it dried out, it was up and running again as normal.

The only time I would need a backup to the Darwin would be if I was completely without a power source for more than 2 1/2 days. Other than that rare situation, not having to change out batteries, not having to remember to bring a spare set, ability to vape while charging...priceless! Putting down a device without seeing/using it is a bit fan-boyish. The provari is an excellent pv and I may buy one just as a just in case...but the benefits of the Darwin won me over in comparison.

You are correct, I would actually bring a couple mechanical devices and the required batteries for those camping trips. For around the house and where ever I have access to a power source I love the Darwin. It is easy to change wattage, will not fall or roll when I set it down.

Only 1800 mAh for all day long? I would never pay that much for a mod that doesn't let me change out batts. On a weekend camping trip, I want a few 18650s in my pack. I'll keep the Provari. Also, I can use those 18650s in my Silver Bullet. I couldn't use the Darwin batts in other mods.

I guess I am used to camping with a vehicle nearby. Throw the Darwin on a USB adapter in the car for an hour or two and use my GLV in the meantime and then use the Darwin again for the next 30 hours. I average 8-9 hours with My ProVari and 18650. That equates to alot of battery changes... I would need to carry alot of extra batteries and gear to keep my ProVari powered up for a weekend compared what my Darwin requires (USB cable and lighter plug adapter)

Been using the Darwin and Provari for over a month now. Can't say enough how much easier it is to have something that stays charged ALL day with no problem. I vape all day, plug it in a night, and have no worries the next day that it won't last ALL day. In fact, it last me at least a day and a half. The drag for me is much better as well. It took me a bit going back and forth, but now I use the Darwin at least 90% of the time.

Looks like a great product! I have a couple of questions, though.
1) I am addicted to the eGo tanks, and the tank atty(501 connection) is a little wider than the standard 501. Will I be able to swing the arm into the off position with this atty attached?
2) The tank atty connector at the battery is recessed a bit (kind of has a collar that goes down around the top of the battery). Will I need some sort of extension adapter to use it w/ the Darwin?
3) NHaler is out of stock right now. Anyone know when he'll be getting the next shipment in?

Thanks for the great review on this thing.

#1...no idea since I don't use them. If you can't find a Darwin user who does, use the pic to measure and judge whether it will work for the setup you are looking to use.

#2...The extender is my standard setup because I like the added length. The 510-510 adapter is much shorter

#3...Check the Nhaler forum thread for current info or contact them. All I know is the last shipment sold out in less than 25 minutes. *I guess some people aren't concerned about not being able to replace the battery every 6 hours*....lol

I was able to use the eGo tank and swing the arm down using a extender. It is a slightly tight fit but not bad at all.

What do you mean about not replacing the battery every six hrs?

I am almost never away from a outlet that long, but when I am I carry a portable charger for my phone and kindle that allows me to charge almost anything including my Darwin.

Lol, your probably right...guess I'm seeing so many others criticizing the fact they can't use batteries! That was one of the biggest selling points for me!! I mean, who is really away from an outlet for more than 2 days??

Admittedly, its not the prettiest mod and I think that weighed heavily in some peoples decision. Form over function. But, a little part of me was curious how it would feel in hand. The minute I held it I was very surprised how comfortable it was, really nice weight and actually fits in my hand perfectly, much better than my tube mod. Jmo

The whole battery issue is bogus. JMO, I think the issue is created by people who decided they didn't want a Darwin and are trying to convince themselves they make the right choice.

it is a bit strange to not have to carry a bunch of extra batts since we're all used to it...
the real problem is the dang thing lasts too long! going through 5ml a day with 3ohm cartos (sometimes 3ohm atty for boba's) @ 5.5-6.5V. it lasts me at least two full days. i forget to charge it!

there's a number of things that could improve the design, but most would mean a whole new product (juice well, no swing arm, different form factor, etc..), but a quick V2 of this model would include charging status and recalibration of the battery meter (second half is much shorter than the first half). anodized or powdercoated silver/chrome would be nice too :)
