I don't know any state specific jokes about AZ unless they involve heat, I guess.
A case could be made for joking about the homeless I guess. I was complaining about the washes here and how come they didn't like, put large tunnels or whatever underneath many road intersections instead of just you know, acting like it's totally normal that people have to be rescued downstream every time it rains.
The husband said he discussed it with a councilman when he first got here, and said that it was because the homeless got inside and hung out and sometimes put up grates, or took them down and put them back up.
I said that was not my problem. For a right to whatever conservative, he got oddly righteous about my lack of care and concern for the homeless. He (the husband, not the councilman) got all righteous about "protecting them from themselves." I was like, dude, anyone who can take down and then reinstall a grate can totally fend for themselves. I'm sorry. Plus, I bet if a few of them died, word would get around .Plus, if you are homeless, you have to pay attention to your surroundings. I'm sorry but that's how it is. The argument went on a long time. I am still passionately in favor of putting a big sign up on a grate that says, "Homeless people, sleep here at your own risk, because it rains, and that is what storm drains are FOR, so if you decide to cave it up here, prepare to die unexpectedly especially if you are drinking Sterno."
Well, I think it was probably graft, personally (the storm tunnels I mean) because they charge you to get rescued from washes, and tunnels are more expensive.
I'd have to say many/most of the jokes I make about AZ have to do with incompetence or graft. This is a double edged sword, as legislation always takes a while to arrive because the folks in charge are so busy grafting and hiding it.
It does make the roads suck, although Sierra Vista appears a LOT less grafty.
