Yes it's bayou dwellers. Not in any restaurant...yet.
Y’all try it in Texas first lol. Of course, we knew county folks in Kentucky that ate coons and possums, so anything is possible. Just cause you can catch it doesn’t make it edible. I don’t see alligator gar on menus anywhere either

Depends on how hungry you are. ;)

I was going to say the same thing. If you get hungry enough, you'll eat one. There is a show called "Alone" where they drop people off alone in some extremely harsh locations and they have to survive. People end up eating mice, insects, snails, pretty much anything they can get their hands on.

No idea, and I can guarantee you that I will never be able to answer that question. They’re treated mostly like giant rats here. A nuisance, not a food source. Unless maybe it’s like alligator and they just pawn it off on tourists (I’m kidding, no angry emails please).

By the way, I love fried gator tail.

I’ve had gar before and gator. I don’t really mind trying something.
Yes I was raised in the backwoods and have eaten things that if I cooked now, my husband would divorce me over.

Yes, but it’s “dirty fish”...... but people eat catfish all the time.
There's really not a "dirty" fish. I know what you're saying though. Bottom feeders are considered "dirty" fish but there is really nothing wrong with eating them. Mickey D uses carp for their fish burgers. At least they did at one time. And some fish don't taste too good but it isn't sewage or anything.

I've had smoked carp out of the Saginaw bay in Lake Huron, a chemical adventure. Good flavor, a little oily and possibly glowed in the dark.

When I first started vaping and visiting ECF, carp was what I visualized when people talked about bottom feeders.

Most all fish are caught from waters we wouldn't drink without boiling. That's one of the reasons I'm leery about eating raw fish. Sushi isn't on my list of desirable dishes.

Catfish (bottom feeders), OTOH, is a delicacy in the South. Love me some fried Catfish!

An FDA inspected Catfish dinner followed by a good vape is a great meal (see what I did there?). Back on topic.

Don't forget crab. Those are bottom feeding carrion eaters. May as well be eating buzzard or vulture....yet they taste SOOOOOO good.

You are all too funny. I like fried catfish and yes, I grew up eating squirrel and rabbit. Wouldn't touch those frog legs after they 'jumped' though. Don't eat any cute or weird critters now.

Like catfish, hate sushi and the FDA.
