I must be going to the wrong grocery stores.

Seriously? In SoCal, I'm constantly being offered free booze at Albertson's, Ralph's, Gelson's and Bristol Farms. Sometimes at Trader Joe's and Whole Foods too, if I'm not mistaken.

Bloody Mary?

Yeah, those are the "fancy" stores. I shop at the places where you bag your own groceries. Occasionally hit trader joes, if I want something in particular.

In deeming news, I wonder if an ohm meter will be considered a tobacco product component? The device itself has no effect on the tobacco product, but it really has no other use than to be used with a tobacco product.

I have now been deemed an ENDS.
No, sorry. You are only a component, which is deemed a tobacco product, but not an ENDS. And it doesn't go into effect until August 8th, so you are not yet a tobacco product.

I don't want you to be misinformed about yourself.

The all purpose ones aren't, but I'm guessing the ones made for vaping devices might be considered tobacco products by FDA deeming. Then, again, there's intended use.

I feel more informed now. Thanks!. It is so confusing! :p

Also share this: Professor Glantz brings his anti-vaping crusade to Europe - I review his presentation
In it Clive Bates said that he would love to sit down and have a discussion with Glatz. We need to get these two together.

To Austria of all places.

LOL

He's either very brave or very stupid.

There's a guy there who at many petition hearings shredded these ANTZ scientist wanna-bes in seconds.
As a lecturer for pharmacology and toxicology he's also a strong supporter of vaping.
But like in the US, too much gov't money comes from tobacco taxes and its all uphill battle every inch of the way:

Really? Tell him to start wearing a face mask. The air he's breathing right now has more "particles" than vapor--please send him the results of the USC study (below):

Here are all the data from the USC study, including Compounds, Outdoor air, e-Cigarette, and normal cigarette.http://www.rsc.org/suppdata/em/c4/c4em00415a/c4em00415a1.pdf

For your convenience, listed below are the amounts of Cr, Ni, Pb, Zn and Al in outdoor air vs e-cigarette vapor:
wink.gif

Cr: 5.53 vs 4.22
Ni: 5.57 vs 6.14 (+/-2.9)
Pb: 13.28 vs 9.85
Zn: 54.31 vs 56.08 (+/- 21 [sic])
Al: 333.27 (±62.93) vs 161.43 (±71.35)

So, vapor is actually healthier, per this study, than the air we breathe here in SoCal.

So does the carpet in his office. And his bookcases. And the exhaust fumes from his car. Tons of formaldehyde and who knows what else.

Of course we will. As people live longer, eat unhealthy food and don't exercise, heart disease and cancer rates will keep going up.

Dual use is better than exclusive use of combustible tobacco products.

I remember when Glantz claimed that vapor deposition on furniture would endanger children.

My first thought was: Yah. What about the furniture itself endangering the children?

Yeah. We need to ban coffee tables! My daughter at three years old thought it would be cool to swan dive off the couch and split open the bottom of her chin. It all happened so fast. Also, toys. When I was in preschool some kid left a tonka truck out and I stepped backwards and didn't see it. It slipped under my foot and I cracked open my chin on one of those little wood tables. Stitches. This epidemic must be stopped. For the children.

I applaud this Professor. Everybody needs to take a look at his blog. We need to invite him over to speak to Congress.

Here's some food for thought...I can't believe this hasn't been talked about. Actually it just popped in my head tonight...I was like wait a minute here...

So you know how the fda won't allow free juice in shops anymore, no samples. Well, how come big tobacco reps come into clubs and bars and give you a free pack or more of cigarettes if you sign up for their mailings. Granted if you smoke and you're drinking you're going to be like hell yeah. But don't you think this is hypocritical?

Yeah! I still get coupons for free cigarettes and dollar off per pack from
Marlboro and the same from Scandinavian Tobacco (Captain Black)
What's up with that!
Good point Yiana!

Regards,
Hazy
To the best of my knowledge all applicable tobacco taxes are paid by the promoter.
Additional sales tax is paid by the receiver. It varies from state to state.

Ok. I can understand the tax issue. But they have outright banned free ejuice. I mean what if the store wants to pay the taxes on it then they still can't do it. They could pay the taxes on each bottle they have to sample. It is still hypocrisy. Right?

What is the stated objective of banning free juice? I must have missed it. Anyway, vape shops could simply have a jar labelled "deposit a penny before sampling juice."

It is in there somewhere...my internet is sketchy on my phone right now to look it up. However your idea is a good one.
