I just wonder what you Tell a Small Business Owner who has Never Sold to a Minor, and who Doesn't sell juul, why we have to Shut your Business down 6 Months Early?

Therein lies one of the biggest stories of this tragedy, in a single sentence.

An entire industry, self-created, self-financed, self-policed, and organically grown; shut down by forces that never should have come into play. Each of the pioneers should have become wealthy and celebrated, for bringing something so good to overall humanity, and instead are punished in the harshest of ways.

I've over-used the term by now, but I simply can't come up with another one.

Mind-boggling (to the fullest extent).

I thought that the two good liquid companies in this state would survive the ban through internet sales outside of Michigan. They are now screwed.

Yeah... Just about EVERYONE is getting Hosed.

---

So... what I wonder is Who is going to be the 1st to File a Flavorless e-liquid/Pod System PMTA?

Pfizer

Just kidding. Maybe.

I know you were Partially Joking.

But Why Not?

The Media has been Careful to Demonize just flavors. I could see the Fine Folks at Pfizer doing a Unflavored Pod Mod PMTA.

And if the FDA is going to Approve a Tobacco Flavored e-Liquid containing PMTA, which they Will, how can they Deny an Unflavored one?

Yeah Michigan passing that law is making me think twice about moving back home to the Detroit area when I retire. Of course with the new nation wide one I suppose it is the same everywhere. It is just how it was rammed through that still sticks in my craw.

If I wasn't someone who didn't believe in conspiracy theories I'd think someone purposely spiked those pod cartridges with THC because nothing will wipe out vaping quicker than this.

I'm not really a conspiracy theorist and I live with one and so I fight it off all the time. But, I do believe the Gafia did this one, and they will do ecigs first, then when THAT goes bad "tobacco flavorere different leafy pods get spiked" and wipe out those states uppity enough to think that your brain and body on certain drugs is really just freaking fine.

Mark my words. Sigh.

I totally believe it totally TOTALLY.

Then, the "outrage" reports, then the ban.

The husband called I was like yeah um I am mostly fine a few more liters of nic and he told me they were arresting people "Buying in mass quantity."

I was like ,"Yeah it's sweet you think I am at that level but I am totally SO NOT."

Juul or Blu will likely survive they have big tobacco behind them if I remember right they will just nix their non tobacco flavors. It wouldn't surprise me if either or both come out with an unflavored.

I have already received about 6 emails from vendors saying due to the probable ban, they are offering their eliquids at ____% off. This will be a fire sale at the end.

Yeah... Me to.

Never got Smack from them about a Pending Tax Bill. Or a Special Session to Ban this or to Restrict that.

But the Discounts are Flowing for me to Buy their e-Liquids.

CASAA - Wisconsin
casaa.org
I received an email from CASSA kindly informing me of a vote in front of the NYC Council of a flavor ban on e cigarettes and juice in NYC for this Thursday 9/12.

I keep pretty good track of stuff like this so was really taken by surprise. I immediately reached out to both the Council Speaker and my district Council member. By the end of day (just a little while ago for me) I had received answers back from both that no vote was scheduled, and while an ordinance was on file regarding the flavor issue, no political movement on it was in process. My emails were also forwarded to the Health Committee along with both my email and attached reference materials in the medical literature to add to the pile.

I was happy to see that not all attempts to reach out, at least local politicians, go unheard, but I was a little concerned about CASAA blasting out something like that to scare silly every vaping NYer that turned out to be inaccurate. Granted most people probably weren't on the email list, but I do wish our advocates worked a little harder on keeping things accurate than creating hysteria. Now I feel foolish for wasting whatever political capital I had on getting a hold of these guys and am afraid when it does come up for real debate and vote, I'll be dumped in the "oh, him again, getting us all in a lather tracking down if there was some ordinance coming up we didn't even know about".

That might sound silly, but if we're going to be proactive to be involved and get rumor instead of fact from our advocacy groups we'll en up just damaging our credibility that much more. I'll still follow up with the Health committee and see if I can get a sit-down to share more actual objective information, but our advocates and trade associations shouldn't be playing scare tactics on us. We get enough of that already.

End of rant.I feel better.

To be fair to Alex (who does all of the Calls to Action,) it says "could vote on an ordinance banning flavored products other than tobacco as soon as this Thursday" not that it was happening for certain on Thursday, and the law is still proposed and still needs to be opposed, regardless.

However, you make a good point that the Call to Action could have been even more clear that the actual vote time/date was uncertain, so that will be taken into consideration for the future. Thank you!
