They started the PACT act right after I started using snus. I used to pay $5 for shipping before and now pay around $40 for shipping from Sweden. I’m guessing that shipping from US vendors will be somewhere in the $20’s for UPS with adult signature.

Right. Remember how we worried that they would include e-cigs in the PACT Act? Well, took them only 10 years to accomplish that. :-x I still have a box of Stonewall and Ariva in my closet from that pre-PACT shopping spree. I wonder if it's still good. ;)

Anyway, VTA calculates that this bill, if enacted, will add "an additional $6.00 per transaction just to have the product delivered to your door, assuming any common carriers will even continue to deliver." I'm not sure how they arrived at that number, but it's from their email today.

Not to mention that you'll have to be home to sign for the package, which of course is not possible for most people who actually still work in this country. The hardest hit folks will be those who live in rural areas, of course. If they miss a delivery, they'll have to travel God knows how far to retrieve that package from a UPS or FedEx office.

One of the greatest delusions in the world is the hope that the evils in the world are to be cured by legislation.

it's time to buy what you need before this goes into effect.
I boggles my mind every time I hear of someone who's been around this forum for years, who isn't fully stocked yet. The writing has been on the wall for since the spring of 2014 when the Dooming was first proposed.

    Somewhere between here and there
I honestly didn’t take it seriously until last year. That’s when I finally stocked up on nic and bought a small freezer. I watched for deals and reinforced my hardware stash. I’m good now. I feel sorry for those that aren’t either by choice or can’t.

I'm not stocked up yet, but I am making progress.

I saw that. I’ve been debating whether to get one more liter to compensate for waste when testing flavors and mixing sample recipes.

I test flavors without nic nowadays. Not wasting my nic anymore. Sigh.

Took me a couple years to fall into a vape style that clicked for me. I simply cannot afford to stock everything needed before deeming. I have enough nic and will have to cross my fingers what gear stash I have will hold up.

I prepared better part of a year ago but truthfully I have yet to find a DIY juice I can vape all day. So until I do, the 2.5 gallons of nic I bought remains a waste of my money. But alas, I have not given up! :)

Yeah, between the PMTA deadline and the USPS delivery ban this might be the end, but who knows. We've stocked up several times, thinking the vapocalypse was coming soon, but it didn't happen. The first time or two, I told all the vapers I knew about it. They don't believe me anymore.

I'll make a prediction: If/when the day comes that you can't get whatever vendor juice you prefer to vape all day, DIY will quickly become something you can vape all day.

I used to be that way with cigs. I had a preferred kind. If I couldn't get them and had to smoke something else, I had a similar reaction; I wanted what I was used to. But when the variety I preferred became unavailable, due to being discontinued by the manufacturer, or because I was out of the country, or whatever, I always got used to something else within a week or so.

It was actually pretty funny on a motorcycle trip across Canada. I didn't realize that Merits were basically unobtanium up there. So I went to a smoke shop and asked for a suitable substitute. The guy recommended Du Maurier. So I bought a couple of packs and at first, I was like, "I can't smoke these all the time", but 10 days later after we crossed back into the US on the other side of the continent, I had the same reaction upon switching back to Merits for a day or two.

Well, I never really started stockpiling; must be my pollyannish disposition. ;)

But I'm not an idiot. I have 1L of nic in my freezer--that's ~10 years worth of nic at the rate I vape. I'm getting another .5-1L. So I should be good for 15-20 years. But do I really want to vape 20-year old nic--will I even be around/still vaping then?

I also have enough hardware to last me a while. I'm planning on getting a few more mods and RTAs, more coils for my Zlide. Flavors, batteries, chargers, and other accessories will always be available.

September will be very interesting indeed.

Do you think that there is a chance that private carriers will refuse to deliver "tobacco products"? I don't mind paying extra for an occasional online transaction--as long as someone will deliver it to my house.

I believe this is partially true. Perhaps a combination of flavors. However, I learned years ago my diverse culinary preferences did not translate to vaping. And Winstons weren’t ever as good as Marlboros. Merits were better. :)

I was being a bit dramatic. While it is true My DIY has come up short, I also realize I have more to explore. I also knew going in that it would likely be a long journey.

I have enough nicotine to last me the rest of my life, I got into DIY after the first year, so I am good on that front. When I first started I used a EGO, then a Evic, after that I discovered Provari, I have around 20 of the various models. After that I got into Billet box's and REO's. now I am interested in the Dicodes, and I most likely won't get all the ones that I want. As far as atty's I have always liked the Kayfuns, the Lite+ I stockpiled them with all the extra parts. I did not like some of the others until, the prime and the KFL2019. I also have several different Squonker attys and a couple drippers
I seem to always want more new stuff, so for me stockpiling has never stopped, it slowed down a bit because of cash problems, but never stopped. I know they say that flavors will always be available, but I never really trusted that, and stocked up on those as well. I know I will be fine, but I don't really want to stop. This new law banning USPS delivering vape products, just might force me to stop earlier then September though. :|
