we need some help on were you guys would like the prepunch to be on the ss stallions

Generally I have punched at about 9/16 to 5/8 inch above the carto base, not including the threaded portion of course, on opposing sides of the carto. 2 holes seems adequate.

Rver, I believe WallyO and several others have reported roughly the same measurement as I recall but do get their input as I have been known to error now and then. At least I do something consistently.

I've been slotting mine. Here's where I put them. Working flawlessly. Much better than I expected. No flooding, no leaking, just great vapin'.

I put horizontal slots in mine. Got a beautiful narrow diamond dremel cut off wheel just for this. Lower one is 9/16 from the bottom and the top one is 7/8 from the bottom.

I have a small sharpening stone that I use to deburr. Fine emery should work fine as well. I like the stone because there is very little if any dust put in the carto. Probably not an issue, that's just how I do it. In an earlier post in this thread I gave the dimensions I used from the bottom of the cart (from the tube bottom not the bottom of the 510 thread) I cut mine horizontally and used a diamond dremel cutoff wheel. Very little burring with this wheel. The two slots are on opposite sides of the cart. One on one side and one on the other. Working very well. Filled my second Raven tank today. Have left it on it's side overnight and no flooding. The actual opening of the slots I made are around 1/8". That's the opening. The whole groove is about 3/16" long.

Wow...just had the chance to read your posting dodari and also wally...great scott, you guys do your openings quite abit higher then me. My holes are 5/16 from the base because I want no space between the grommet and the hole which means that the hole is at the very bottom and can still be seen. I've been doing it this way for over a year. Now, if I can ask you guys why you do it so high in order that I can understand and perhaps I'm doing it wrong. Here's something intresting...when I bought the saddle valve the salesman told me that it would be good for about 45 to 50 punchings. I went and dug out all of the cart invoices I could find and was suprised to see that I have punched well over 65 of them and the damn thing is still cooking...of course, the stallion is going to change all of that. LOL

oops, almost forgot...my original srtallion will be 7 weeks in use but that will be the last day...finally has lost most all of the flavor and a lot of dry hits so I figure that's enough...I'm well satisfied with the product and I'm hoping that I can get 8 full weeks from the other one. These stallions are the best investment in carts.

I like a bit of the cart sticking out of the bottom of the tank that's why I opted for the 9/16" on the lower slot. It's about 1/16" above the bottom cap when put together. I have three going now. One has the upper slot at 7/8", the second at 1" and the third at 1 1/8". At 1 1/8" I noticed a tad overwicking til the level dropped a bit. Other than that, really not any noticeable performance between them. I like to keep an upper opening high so it acts like a vent when the juice starts dropping. I imagine if there is just one hole at the bottom you can eventually build a slight vacuum in the tank which may slow down feeding at the bottom. With the upper slot high I feel that once the juice gets below that point it would bleed off any vacuum in the tank. May not do anything but it makes sense in my world.

Now, if I can ask you guys why you do it so high in order that I can understand and perhaps I'm doing it wrong.
If yours are working then you surely aren't doing anything wrong. That's all that matters.

Never used a punch. I prefer grinding a slot or drilling. Cleaner looking. Every punched one I saw just looked beat up to me. Again personal preference and if it works fine for you, great.

We have seen manufacturers try to improve what worked great only to ruin the product. If it ain't broke don't fix it. (Man I wish they would read that) It's fun to experiment but sounds like your final product is performing well and is not in need of improving. If you are looking to get more than seven weeks out of a cart the only solution is not to use it as much. These are disposables and in the manufacturers wildest dreams I don't think they would ever expect 7 weeks out of them.

I have such a vaping arsenal at my disposal now I don't think I'll ever use anything for more than a couple weeks.
But alas I am tired of looking at what I have and still want more new toys. Bring em on GV.

What is the easiest way to fill these?
Are you asking about just the cart? If so, snaking a long syringe needle along the side as far down as you can get is best. Then just push the juice in til it wets the top.
I have seen but never did the force feeding from the bottom by filling one of the long silicone caps with juice and pushing the carto down. Seems like that should work OK too.

They call that method the condom fill...I filled them a few times but did not like it at all, could get messy. I use the needle method also, works good.

I just use a syringe for mine, love the Stallions myself, but the condom method does work....slowly. What about 'The Plunger' from MyFreedomSmokes? Have you ever seen, heard of or tried using this to fill them? Plunger Fitting (Patent Pending) - MyFreedomSmokes.com

Yeah that's what I meant thanks. So push it down the side about how far 1/2 inch would you say?

If you have a long enough needle to get to the bottom that would be best. Most folks don't have a needle that long. The deeper you can get down the better. :)(awaiting crude comments)
