The shell. They're not flanged. Where it's pressed into the 510 connection, it's larger in diameter which prevents it from going all the way in to any of my tanks. Wouldn't be much of a problem except that because the bell bottom stops the carto from going all the way in, the punched holes don't quite reach the juice. Once I got it to fit, it works great just like the ones I've been peeling and slotting. The originals are exactly the same size. Where the problem comes in is I can slot them a bit higher than where the holes are punched.

Um, by flange I meant the flat circular plate that covers the bottom of the cylindrical portion and from which the threaded portion with the air holes protrude. Doesn't matter.

Soooo, if I mic the top diameter of the cylinder it show less than if I mic the diameter of the bottom of the cylinder? Holy scheiss! That would be QC.

On the ones I got, but have not used, I note the punched holes are centered at about 7/16" above the bottom of the cylinder. Going way back in this thread, many weeks worth, it was generally agreed that the distance needed to be about 9/16" to 5/8" inch about the cylinder bottom for the punched holes. This is a variance of 1/8" to 3/16" too low for the punched holes. QC again.

Disappointing it might seem.

I really wouldn't characterize it as a QC issue since they are all the same. But, I am afraid the design will be a problem for many tanks with metal caps that are built to close tolerances. May not be an issue with tanks that have a slightly larger opening on the cap. Hence my original query for tanks that are being used with the new pre-punched Stalions.

On the original Stallions I have(and still am) using the DCT tanks from S---Tek, the mini-Sub and Sub tanks from M and P(IIRC) and the M1A1 tanks tall and short from some other supplier. No Problems with fitment, ever.

I will, later in a while, try 1 new Stallion on a M1A1 end cap to see if it's go or no go. I'll be using 1 of my SlapYoMama devices to protect my O-rings.

OK, just tried a new Stallion in both end caps of an M1A1 tank using a S Y Mama to protect the O-rings. I slid either end cap from the top of the Stallion cylinder down to the bottom of the cylinder. No problem.

Now here is a possible "thing".

I miced the top diameter at 60degree rotations, pretty much 9.20mm. I miced the bottom cylinder diameter, still pretty much 9.20mm, that is above the bottom of the cylinder by maybe 3/16" height.

BUT, at the very bottom portion of the cylinder where the threaded portion is pressed into the cylinder there it measures about 9.35mm diameter, an increase that works out to about 0.006". If a person is forcing the bottom cap on over this increased diameter it would seem one might cob the hell out of the O-rings, perhaps.

That's what I did but I used my carto punch, two holes near bottom and then two holes about half inch up from bottom holes. Does wick better but still not like the older ones. The first batch I could just punch two holes near the bottom and when I took the drip tip off the filler would be wet. The newer ones with 4 holes in the tube, the filler looks dry but its still seems to be wicking ok. It's odd, almost like something was changed internally.

I think your right. I still don't think the flavor is what I got out of the original batch. I am going to strip and slot one soon to compare.

Just got the diamond cutter wheel that WallyO suggested, works good. Only got one slotted on opposing sides as you have done, I hope I got it right. Wicks much better, no leaking so far. Vapes better but flavor does seem down from the old ones.

How's the one you added the higher up slot to?

Once you strip and slot the one you mention you'll do, I think we'd all be interested in what you find.

Thanks.

Last night I stripped one of the original Stallions. Double slots just like I have always done. Wicking like a champ and great flavor.

I fear someone (at the point of manufacture) took it upon themselves to change something with the latest run of Stallions.

Sadly I didn't order any black blanks to compare to the old black blanks.

Yeah I doubled back to 1 of my original Stallions and did much as you did. Same good results.

I think these second versions have issues the originals did not have. Dang it!!

I'll keep trying but.....?? Dunno???

Still got lots of Boge 3.0s in boxes.

im checking up on this, it could be just a batch that is the issue, im not to sure because i tested a few from a separate box randomly and its fine here. so i have some as well form the boxes you are getting them from to compare.
im also speaking to the factory just in case to see if anything was done but i was initialy told no, this could be a random thing but ill look into it

Punched Stallion in a tank is THE BEST. :toast:
Got the Kanger T3 eGo Clearomizer Bottom Coil and punched Stallions today, ordered Monday with a note “no rush, going to Mom’s 90’th birthday Thursday” and they got here today THANK YOU Dan and crew!!!!!!
Kanger T3 as good as the BC Phoenix, haven’t gotten a dry hit but sometimes flavor falls off. Just finger on the holes and suck, bubble bubble, and flavor is back. Almost as good as the punched Stallions in a tank that is the TOP in flavor IMHO, they are so good I’ve put away all my 801 to 510 adaptors ;) :firefox:
Have has no issues with the two tanks I just filled, prefilled dripping in top and sit a awhile, then in the tank and condom on the bottom and suck juice through the hole till gurgle a little and go.

I bought 3 boxes of these stallions and I'm really liking them so far. There was a problem however, I ordered black and I received stainless. I have decided I want to keep the stainless rather than sending them back. I think I want to try them in a tank. What tank would you recommend for them? And also what punch should I buy? Thanks all
