i don't think a ban is going to happen. Like the others though i can see a huge tax slapped on them sometime in the future. That is going to be a sad thing though. it will either put the small companies who are trying to make go of it out of business and the larger companies charge so much for them that we can't afford it.. I can see the big tobacco companies sticking their noses in and coming up with an e-cig where that seems to be where the money is right now. They are losing tons of money on analogs because people are quiting and they will go where the money is. That is why I have stocked up on flavorings, nic, pg, vg, batteries, carts, etc. i am ready for them.

It's crossed my mind but I think I'd shoot myself if I actually had to live like that. It was enough trouble getting ready for a hurricane without loss of power for a couple days. If I see the handwriting on the wall, and know it's going to happen maybe I'll try to get down to zero nic.

How much can you actually stockpile? A year? Ten years? Twenty years? That'd put me in the tin foil hat brigade. My husband might committ me.

From what I understand by the new law they are trying to pass, new cartomizers and atomizers will be affected. I placed a couple of huge orders for Boge last week not including other dc's that I like. I'm sitting on top of about 500 cartomizers, 50 atomizers (will only use if it comes down to it), and 1500mls of flavored juice not including the unflavored I have frozen. If you're that paranoid, which most of us are, then start stockpiling some stuff. I look for anything new coming out to get nailed to the wall with taxes unless the CASAA can stop it.

I have done alot of research on vg and found that alot of scientific research facilitys use vg to freeze organic cultures and such because it keeps it fresh for a very long time.

i dont see how they can tax (or ban) any of the hardware. that would be like baning or taxing "tobacco" pipes and rolling papers. i am sure they will tax the hell out of liquid nic at some point in the future, and that is going to be my final motivator to go zero nic.

i have stepped down from 24mg to 6-8mg (still use some 18mg and 12mg that were purchased when i first started vaping) in just over 3 months. i feel fine and dont find myself craving nic any more or less that when i was using 24mg. i would be all for trying to go zero nic right now, but i cannot stand the complete lack of TH at 0mg. once the government taxes it, i will live with the lack of TH. i am not going back to paying "cigarette" prices for anything.

Guys they cant even stop the shipping of all these little blue pills and other Pharma products you can get over the internet ! My Nic suppliers tells me they will always be able to get Nic from there Chinese suppliers and I believe them. period,,, there going to have to Ban Caffeine and many other products and search every dam pkg through customs to not be able to get Nic and that's just not happening. Stockpiling right now is not needed. Dont get me wrong I have a supply of stuff but it isn't 3 -4yrs worth and its best to have fresh Nic anyways and if and when the time comes of a Ban we will all know and have time to place an order for a couple of liters of 100mg Nic if need be. just my 2c worth and personal opinion.

Currently using 8/17/2009 vintage unflavored that I stored in freezer; still good as new.
Plenty more still in freezer. If nic runs out I can manage w/ black pepper and menthol zero.

Have about 15 cartos which should last a few years w/ clean burning liquid; would like a few more.

My mods and DIY mods will last many years.

Not worried about batts, PG, VG or flavorings.

In short, I'm ready.

I may have had a poor choice of words with stockpile. I am not talking about enough to last to the end of my life or anything. In fact 250Ml of 60Mg will probably be plenty to get me through quite some time. I too am not nearly as worried about a ban as a big tax on nic that would double or triple the cost of a bottle. In any case I feel it is best to have a little stock aside for the random Zombie apocalypse ;)

You have a lot of interesting view points on this subject, thanks for the posts!

I doubt there will be an outright ban on vaping and supplies. But vaping is too good not to be slapped with crippling regulation and industrial-strength taxes. I can easily see what is now a $12 30ml. bottle of e-liquid costing more than $50 or $60 thanks to federal taxes alone. Then add state and local taxes, perhaps another $100 or more in high-tax states like Illinois. Finally, I can see the FDA and the other nanny organizations regulating everything to death and shutting off the internet to vaping supplies.

So, I've started stockpiling hardware and 100 mg./ml. nic-liquid for DIYing, the last going into glass bottles and then into a top-load freezer kept at a constant minus ten degrees Farenheit. By June of next year, I should have enough of everything to last me until I'm 95.

It's sad to say this, but over a fairly long life filled with lots of nasty experiences, I've learned to totally distrust my federal, state and local governments.

My ecig doubles as a hand warmer. You just roll your hand around the atomizer and pulse the button. Would they ban that?

As for juice, I have a box full of juices that I tried and found others I liked better. I have about 12 bottles of assorted Lorann flavorings that I have barely touched. I can always go to Tractor Supply and buy a gallon of PG and make my own for a while ... actually forever, since cake and candy flavor concentrates won't be banned and neither will PG and VG.

There's that large zip lock bag of assorted atomizers that I've accumulated and I doubt that the FDA will bother outlawing hand warmers, either ';)'

Has anyone done research to determine what the effects of freezing are on the degradation of nicotine? Just saying.

I did ask RTS their thoughts on storage and for long term storage they said glass bottle in the freezer with as little air as possible in the bottle should get several years of life if need be. It won't actually freeze, just slow the nicotine degradation significantly. I am not sure if tobacco extracts are the same or if they have a shelf life. Still looking into that. Unfortunately other than apple (in limited quantities) I am really a tobacco flavor type of guy for now.

Yes. There are several excellent and thorough threads on this subject here. Here's one: Smoke juice storage tips. Do read carefully and digest the warnings in this thread and other similar ones!
