Just dont care what people think.
Look at other people and you will see alot of people do much more weird things

also i dont know how its in youre country but here in holland its registered as a medicine.

I love to vape in hospitals and bars where other people need to go outside or are full in a little room while im enjoying smoking my e cig.

I know they are jaleous

I have a hard time believing that hospitals don't have a problem with that. Has anyone complained in that environment. I know it's Holland but still.

Oh yeah, isn't there pure oxygen in hospitals? If it is indeed allowed I must assume that you are restricted as to where you are allowed to vape.

Even though vaping doesn't produce smoke, and there is no fire, I would imagine that there is some risk that a heated atomizer could trigger an explosion of fire if it is activated near some flamable gas or other substance.

My husband vapes everywhere but I think he does it just to get back at all the nonsmokers who've given him grief. I try to limit it in public as I did when I smoked analogs. That's due to the Scarlett O'Hara syndrome instilled in us southern gals ;)
But one of the e-cig companies sent us their business cards and on the back it had this great kind of "I'm not smoking and here's why..."

I think we really need to be as public and outspoken as possible or else they'll take this right away from us, too. We live in Vegas and it would be the perfect place for public awareness campaigns but i'm not filthy rich or I'd do it! Instead, I'm blinging out my habit with rhinestones and ultra chic boxes!

You know, the vaping movement kinda reminds me of the sixties... LOL

The first day I vaped in public (over 7 months ago) I felt a bit self-conscious, but since then it hasn't bothered me a bit. A couple of people have done double-takes, and a few, mainly young people, have asked what my e-cig is. I just give a brief explanation of how it works, and give suppliers' cards to people who are interested, and jot down a couple of websites for them.
I did have one bad moment when I was walking down the street vaping away and was stopped by the police, but one of the cops cut off my little spiel and explained that he just wanted to know where he could get a Screwdriver!

I've no problems in vaping in public. People are very interested, if they notice the diffenence between my vaping device and their ugly cigarettes. I had to answer ceveral questions and in every case people were interested, asked for more information.
I gave some friends egos to test the difference - and they all liked it more!

Don't be shy !

I just took my stepdaughter to Hartsfield-Jackson (ATL) airport, and vaped pretty openly the entire time. We live on the extreme NE side of the city, and with the airport in the extreme SW, piled on to of the fact that the roads are a mess because Obama decided to speak here today, we took MARTA (our public train system). I vaped like a mad woman, since the flight was delayed, I had to be at work soon, etc, etc...talk about stress! I hate the airport. lol.

Anyway, I wasn't actually on the flight, but I was in Delta's terminal for a few hours since she's a minor, and I even puffed in security. Had it in my hand when I walked through. Nobody said a word, except a guy who had one as well. He didn't seem to care either.

Just an interesting little "test" I decided to run through since I was taking her to the airport today anyway. :) Guess they're more used to it than I previously thought.

I would have told him, "Try the nearest bar." :D

In no way was smoking in public cool. But at least i was mixed in with other smokers when i was smoking cigarettes. Therefore i kinda blended in with them. Now when i vape in public i feel like everyone is looking at me. I can't help but wonder what they are thinking. They probably think i am smoking some illegal substance or something. I don't even feel comfortable around other smokers while vaping. I feel as if i am drawing attention to myself. I am a pretty shy guy and do not like any extra attention.

Does anyone else struggle with vaping in public? Hopefully this will all pass and eventually i just won't give a damn what people think.

Personnaly, I plan to use the stares and questions to my advantage, and "preach" the joys of vaping.

I carry a set of cards from various suppliers as well as a extra ego with fresh packaged carts if people get curious and want to see how it is.

Well, today I was asked by a grocery store employee to stop vaping in the grocery store (HEB). He said he knew I wasn't "smoking," but some other customer complained. There was no point in debating the issue with him, since the real issue was the other customer's fear (or whatever), not his opinion. So, of course I complied without hesitation.

This doesn't mean I will be gun-shy about vaping in public elsewhere. I'll put my PV away only if so instructed by someone in authority.

I'd agree with BradSmith. Vaping in public is a great what to meet people even if you are shy. I'm shy too, but quickly found 80% of the people are smokers that have heard of, but never seen an e-cig. I'm happy to spend a few minutes sharing with someone if I think there's a chance I could save a life someday!

Kudos to you...if I can save just one other life, that's huge. I quit analogs easily with switching to vaping. Had no idea they existed....word needs to get out there!!

I feel the same way sometimes like I am doing something wrong and I am a pretty shy person till I get to know you. But each day goes by and I am gettin a bit braver about it. Heck the 1st time When I went to my friends house so her hubby could show me I told him I felt like I was doing something illegal (Knowing full well its not) But the more I start feeling better about myself the more braver I get out in public.

I understand, I try not to vape in public buildings personally just to avoid the headache of weird looks. Last week someone actually gave me more questions about why I went to vaping than why i open carry (Glock 23 if curious) which was a nice change. Started a conversation about vaping/guns so long my 510 battery died. But, got another one off analogs I hope.

Same here. Im actually buzzing with finding out about vaping and will chat about it to anyone who will listen. As you say if we can save lives with educating people about this wonderful invention then thats all to the good. Some of my friends are pretty heavy smokers and im working on them daily :)

there are times when i don't want to talk about it but for the most part i am a walking commercial. when i order stuff i ask for extra business cards. to hand out to prospect-vapers. i also printed some business cards of my own doing at vistaprint cheap
VAPING%20CARD.JPG
it's actually glossy

my point would be to spread the truth about e-cigs, and try to counter some of the misleading information being spread by the FDA. show people there is an even better way to get what we want(nic). giving out cards plants the seed to seek out the information.

i am proud to be a vaper :D
