As a new member to this forum and even newer to the MVP v2 thought this might be a good place to visit but catching up on 1424 pages may take some time so hello all and I apologise if I ask a question that's already been asked

Welcome to the group. A full 1424 page catch up is optional...;)

It will be good reading while I sit on the throne ;)

After a bit of a dodgy start with the MVP ( gurgling noise and not much vapor) thankfully fixed fingers crossed I am down to 1-2 cigs a day and think by the weekend I should be off them altogether

New MVP 2 owner here. I had a question about charging that I posted in the New Member forum. I was told it could be better answered here, so here it is again...

Sorry, I hope this isn't too confusing...

The manual says "...use a high quality USB wall charger with 5V 500mA" My wall charger is rated 5V 1000mA. Is it fine to use this charger?

The MVP 2 box says "Micro USB socket input voltage: 4.5 - 5.5 V 500mA"

I already figured out that my EGO type batts require charging at 4.2V 420mA. My EGO style USB (screws onto the batt terminal) chargers are thus rated. I assume that when plugged into my 1000mA wall charger, the USB charger is regulating to 4.2V 420mA (based on the light cycling to green every few seconds). Is that a really stupid assumption to make?

And is it even more stupid of me to assume the MVP's "Micro USB input socket" is regulating input to 5V 500mA even when using the higher rated 1000mA wall charger?

Sorry, I'm still learning here.

*Also had another question, based on something I've noticed after my first 24 hours with the MVP. May as well throw it up here too...

I like to take long slow 'double hits' (click, hit, unclick, inhale, then repeat immediately while slowly nose-exhaling the first hit). When I do this with the EGO twist type batts, both the atty and top third of the batt tend to get very hot very fast. My EVODs, Aerotank, and Aspire BDCs all do this. With the MVP, the attys only seem to get slightly warm at most. I'm vaping at the same v with the same technique as I do with the EGOs. Why don't things get as hot with the MVP?

welcome to MVP world

-the internal chip regulates the charge

-the heat is a matter of mass,
more of the MVP, takes longer to raise its temperature
compared to skinny egos...

:)

Vaping+pooping= Vooping

Congrats on cutting down on the "coffin nails"
<----- you'll hopefully be completely done with them soon....as they'll taste like VOOP compared to the hundreds of oh-so-yummy juices you'll be vaping!!!

any reduction of Analogs is great, do what you feel comfortable with........did the same thing i still smoked analogs for maybe a week after starting Vaping........i just finally made up my mind to give-um up completely and stuck to it, bought a SID the next day and was getting a much better Vape compared to the Halo gear i started with....be 6 mos analog free in 8 days Lord willing & the Creek don't rise, now i cannot stand the smell of analogs and can smell them a mile away.......the MVP was a smart move on your part and it give a satisfying vape no doubt. :thumb:

ps, was a very heavy menthol smoker for a little over 35 yrs, i can breath and smell again now!

update :

I was just thinking, for the record

those very cool Circuit Board Spacers have transformed my MVP
into what I can only imagine, say, a fine quality American made prothingy
and how quality machine work should be...

I simply NEVER even think about my toppers fitment anymore, pertaining to the 510/ego

I think it makes better connection, & breathes better (maybe)

they're just that good, and I don't even know it's there...

Yup, yup. Whatever works for you.

But IMHO... if you really feel like a smoke and grab a vape instead to make the craving subside... yer doin it wrong.

As I keep saying, after 54 years of smoking 3 packs a day and never wanting to quit... I got lucky and the FIRST juice I tried instantly cured me of smoking. Never smoked again. Well, ok, in a month or so I had maybe 2 analogs. And they were horrible. Just had to try to see the difference.

With the right juice (and with a gazillion out there, there is one for you) quitiing can/should be instant. The key is the right juice.

i bought an airflow control adapter the day i bought my MVP, stuck it on and it's been there every-since, never had a prob, yet anyway........originally bought it to save my threads and to keep jooze out of the 510 connection....saving the pin was an extra bonus....so whatever works...just do-it :vapor:

A little story on vaping in Argentina:

At first a couple of companies were importing, but the ANMAT (argentine FDA) considered them medical devices that should be sold in pharmacies. Also deemed nicotine as a pesticide and it's forbidden here (patches, gums and pills aren't). One day, talking to one of ANMAT doctors said "We prohibited it because other countries did". They don't have a mind of their own. Even OTC medicines nowadays are back behind the counter once again (even aspirin! but not body builders proteins).
To top it off, the country has a dollar cash flow and prohibited buys from abroad. We can only buy twice a year, 25 dollars max. So that makes getting supplies difficult.
I have hardware from last year (had made a good stash of heads, clearos and rebuildables) and I'm getting liquid from a local store, expensive, but I'm getting. To top it off, I had a heart attack last may and have to go on vaping no matter what. Either this or quitting althogether.

I've searched for the little screw, I think the pass is broken. I'm planning a big buy in a few months, and I'll make sure to include a KF lite, not to fuss with the screw. I'll find a way around it eventually, but vapes well with Duramax in the hole...

.....@Susaz, thanks for sharing.....guess it makes me realize the importance of our freedom's here in the States and how precious they really are.....yet the FDA is working on that rite now and not in a good way.......if there was any way you could make your own jooze i would check into it, it could save you a bundle.....have a great day.
