Well, moved down to 12mg nicotine on one of my juices yesterday. I cant tell much of a difference in how it hits! I think I might be vaping it slightly more, but not by that much. It kind of sucks since I bought 2 30ml bottles of flavors I like with 18mg, but oh well (I can dillute them, mix in some 0mg, etc). I can go hours now without even having any kind of craving! This vaping stuff is like magic- no wonder the FDA has their fangs out.

Pretty pleased though. Been off the stinkies 1.5 months and now just as many of you my nicotine requirements are going down. I hope to be down to 6mg within the year :)

Thanks for the good tips everyone has been sharing. Even when I dont comment I read all the replies, and Ive learned a ton here.

My MVP acted a little screwy yesterday. Despite being very careful about screwing my tanks on, I get the impression the connection on the MPV is slowly sinking into the body. Tried taking the screws off the top to pull it apart and have a look, but couldnt reasonably pull it apart without worrying about breaking it. I have 3 clearomizers now (iclear 30, aerotank mega, and my fave the protank 2), but still only the one MVP. Need to get another mod as a backup. Ive been thinking about another MVP or possibly an SVD. Ive also decided im going to give a Russian 91% RBA a chance (Kayfun clone with external AFC). Im trying to avoid dripping since im afraid it will spoil me for flavor :p

Anyways, thanks again for this great thread folks. Hopefully I can contribute at some point.

Tiny flathead or nail clipper file.. wedge it in the connector and 'pull' the center pin up a tad.

Kanger bottom coils – a refresher course ;)

*bcc is the older single coil

*then the newer bdc, dual coil

bdc has 3 generations already
-bdc open wicks (short stem early production)
-bdc enclosed wicks (with 2 holes in side)
-bdc enclosed wicks (with a single slot in the side) being the latest version

kanger design allows ALL the bdc coils to interchange into all their bdc tanks
Evod 2, Evod glass, Protank III, Mini Protank III, T3’D, all the Aerotanks, Genitank
as far as I can tell, guess the genitank is just an aerotank with updated airflow ?

recently kanger released sub-ohm series of coils to add to their variety line up
.8 – 1.0 - 1.2 – 1.5 – 1.8 – 2.2 – 2.5 Ω's

- Kanger Sub-Ohm Dual Coil v2 Replacement Heads Aerotank Genitank T3D

then I read somewhere, guess it is Asian only release (at this time) ?

side note:
kanger also has 3 versions of the air flow control
the small knurled ring, the flat ring, and newest indexed 5 hole/slot flat ring

bonus note:
then the first use I see of ‘ribbon kanthal’ - Smok Tech Ribbon wire coils

- Smok Tech Replacement Bottom Coils

Any chance they'll work with Protank I, the Davide or any other generic that takes Protank coils? (or are they bigger?)
Vaping in my area is nonexistant. It's forbidden and sellers are persecuted with law enforcement. But it's generally accepted, even doctors are telling you to vape as an alternative to patches. I'm stuffing a little paper inside the hole to tighten the draw, seems to do the trick.

Can I ask why? What is the mental climate that makes it forbidden there? Is smoking forbidden there?

{here’s a pic of the single coil (bcc) (left)
{then the newer dual coil-exposed wick (bdc) (right)

you can see the dimesions are clearly different...

results of the bdc is a shorter air tube stem inside tank
which leaves a gap when a bcc is inserted…
reverse—if you put a bdc coil in a bcc tank, the base wont screw on (air tube to long)

my daughter came to me, big troubles with her Aerotank,
upon trouble-shooting, I had discovered she put a bcc coil in (not the bdc coil)

have you tried a Hardware store (existence) for a little 'set' screw ?

example: - McMaster-Carr

Whats a good ohms build for my kayfun to play well with my MVP? I want to use my MVP. I miss that thing.

it's just whatever YOU like

I prefer 1.6Ω - 2.0Ω @ 8.0w ±

all the factors rolled into one
(juice, kanthal gauge, wick material, power)

just a lot of experimenting

:)

wow, 1000 in this thread

Yes it is a great place for tinkerers to congregate and you Sir are the undisputed ECF "Goal" or "Giver Of Abundant Links" ..You really should put together a Blog page with your favorite and most useful links so that others, particularly newbies, Could rapidly benefit from your hard work. and talent. Just a thought and Thank you again(and again) for always trying your hardest to help others. It has not went unnoticed - Dave

Whats a good ohms build for my kayfun to play well with my MVP? I want to use my MVP. I miss that thing.

Some folks here dont like the heat time on 28 kanthal with the Kayfun, but I built a 1.3 ohm coil in the beginning of April and it is still going strong. I just clean and rewick every 4 days or so. I hope the coil lasts a year!

I tend to take 2-3 hits per button push and I get clouds from it. First puff heats the coil kinda like puffing to get a cigar going. It is the only topper I use on my trusty MVP. I didn't like the KFL on my mech as much as there are no settings...prefer dripping on that.

Good luck and tell us wshat you end up with

How long does it take to fully charge these?

I like to think of these things in familiar terms. So for me I say the Battery is just a container, like a water jug and the battery charger is like a hosepipe which fills the container. So lets say the battery will hold 2.6 gallons of water and the hose pipe puts out .5 or half a gallon per hour...it would take a little over 4.5 hours to fill the container. The difference of course is that we are dealing with Amps and Milliamps instead of gallons and half gallons. The MVP's battery is rated at 2600Mah and most chargers are 500ma, I know, I'm weird with the water analogies but it works for me and some of the discoverers of electricity did the same thing...Thats why it's still called Current- Dave
