To be fair, its only ONE VENDOR doing a recall.. And prolly a kneejerk:

You're correct in that it may be a knee jerk reaction but a part of me is proud of JJvapes for being on top of it and offering full refunds on the premise of being safe rather than sorry. I might just do some of my business with these guys after seeing this....

EDIT** For newer users, just as a reminder:
MVP 2 Voltage limits: 3.3 to 5 volts
MVP 2 Wattage limits: 6.0 to 11.0 watts
MVP 2 Amp limit: 3 amps ←───

vapor-lock’d
well you’ve said all the right things AFAIC
the bloop, usually one big pow that makes the contents of the
tank swell and then a big bloop rises (tells me tank was vapor-locked)
all my tanks (I feel is SOP) throw small bubbles as I vape
ya burn it off, it replenishes creating bubbles in the process…

wick inside coil wire
my point being, it looks as tho your wick doesn’t fill coil ID
so I used the example, 2mm ID & 2.2mm wick OD
but your description is spot on AFAIC
"I pull the cotton through where its a little too stiff, then pull it back and forth until its snug but not tight"
I’ve made about all combos, and thought maybe I needed something ‘special’
for the kayfun, but duh, I just make the same coil I put in my kanger bcc’c
with the exception the wick is ‘just’ slightly longer (just hangs over the edge)
5 wraps of 32ga around a toothpick yeilds 2.14Ω
I made so many 2.14Ω consistently, I thought my ohm meter went bad

air flow control
the key after all is said and done with the build
most adjust to please them-which is wrong-it is to allow device to function properly
different humans sucking, different juices, wick & coil size, power applied
(just because, have you taken your air screw all the way out, just to look ?)
also the center connection pin is hollow and houses your air channel
that damn air-flow, reminds me of power seats in a car, I’m never happy with
setting and always goofin’ with it…

what I do not like most about kayfun is once it is all together, that’s it…
no goofin’ with, either works, or not (mostly always does !)
guess I like to tinker with my bcc’s and RDA so the kayfun just bores me…
I’ve had great success with my kayfun, but just not that impressed (JMO)
my high performance bcc’s are just as good, but funner…
--------------
ps: from the Innokin manual

5.Red LED light will stay on for 5 seconds when a load
short circuit is detected or the current of the coil is
more than 3.5A, then no more vapor will be produced.

if you have done as much work to your kayfun
as you have been typing, should be close to perfection... :D

good luck keep vaping
:)

I know most of us build 1.8-2.0 ohm coils for the MVP, but for those trying to balance thermal mass/heatup time, draw on tighter coil bays (i.e. Protank 2), theres this handy ohm's law calc you might want to bookmark:
Ohm's Law Calculator

Ive noticed it does strange things unless you do ".0", so 9 watts --> 9.0 watts, 7.5 watts --> 7.5 watts, etc. Helped me to figure out if my 1.5 ohm protank coil would hit my desired wattage without hitting the lower voltage limit of the MVP, so thought id share..

EDIT** For newer users, just as a reminder:
MVP 2 Voltage limits: 3.3 to 5 volts
MVP 2 Wattage limits: 6.0 to 11.0 watts
MVP 2 Amp limit: 3 amps

So that's why the stupid thing gives me jacked up numbers the first time I run it!

My guess, and it is just a guess, would be no. Two freshly charged batteries in series would give you 8.4 volts at best and not for very long. My extensive knowledge of electricity has allowed me to use my body to complete a circuit on a number of occasions however.

This whole pre-order thing has gotten out of hand IMO. Stop showing me stuff you can't ship to me the next day!

BTW, did you see the ProVari P3? You can't order it yet either!

Hey Thanks ValkyrieCT and DavidAmonettNashville :D I loved the look of the skin. Like the old planes with the classic bomber girl logos. It came with the BDC's in it but I switched them out in favor of the BVC's as I've heard that they last longer and you get a better flavor out of it. And I gotta say again I love this thing!! It's great and nicely priced too.

Keirster did you watch P Busardo video on the IPV2 ?

and out of safety, seems one Co has a recall out on them
might wanna look into it...

Watched, waited, read, thought, grimaced, rethought, reconsidered...then I won $100 gift card from a sales contest at work and walked into the most knowledgable B&M around me on Saturday.

My first question was if it was checked by them. Dude, they run every device they get thru the Gamete! None of the issues Busardo had, exist on my new dripping BFF.

What truly sold me was that the owner and 2 others were using them as their primary drippers. Owner let me sit at juice bar with his IPV50 using my atty for 15 min before I decided...I was totally sold.

Owner gonna charge me $10 to switch out the screws in batt plate with magnets in 2 weeks.

I am mostly a fasttech customer, but after winning the free loot I said "what the heck"

Gonna get another power box with 2 x 18650 in a few months and then IPV2 will be the back up ;)

BTW...been hitting my MVP/KFL as I type this. These are the only 2 devices in my daily rotation. MVP is still used everyday and gonna pick up another next month.

Gotta have those backups LOL

99 bucks, well looks like a no-go for me, just assume to buy another Cloupor, was considering the IPV but the box and parts are to cheap and it's a damn shame because the chip is awesome, awesome chip surrounded by cheap parts and GOD help ya if you drop it.....gonna wait for a better built device....just my opinion and i'm not trying to raise a stink.

I have seen some say they think it's cheaply made but once you hold it and use it , it actually is very solid , not as thick or as cumbersome as the Cloupor though .

Just my humble assessment after 3 days with my IPV50 watt. Solid build and light. Greatest hit I have ever had on a dripper.

IMHO, Herb what your opinion?

Nobody cares about my opinion but since you asked i think it's an awesome device actually.

Hey Spooky (and other new guy that I noticed about 6 pages back whom I've forgotten your name :() Dang, y'all are BUSY overnight.

Welcome to the MVP club! I have a pair (one at the office and one at home) backed up by VV3s (again, one at office, and one at home)

Guys (Puf, Keirster, Donesmokin, Paul, Herb, Midnite, and all you others who've been so helpful and kind with my silly questions) I keep seeing all these other "shinies" that you keep referencing, and I just don't know about pulling the trigger on any of them. Maybe I'm a "plain Jane" and I'm settled into my "vaping comfort" zone. I'm still working on my kayfuns - trying to find a build that rocks my world. Just started DIY'ing my juice. Haven't delved into drippers (maybe I just like the convenience of having a loaded tank and not having to constantly refill?) Believe it or not, I am quite pleased with my army of EVOD tanks (donesmokin, I just tore down and rebuilt about 6 brand new kanger heads last night with your cellucotton :D) I even tried something goofy last night. Had a couple of too-thin wisps of wick and an empty kf deck, so I threaded them into the coil together and split the tails like this:

IMG_20140811_200116487.jpg

IMG_20140811_200108615.jpg

IMG_20140811_200046509.jpg

It seems to be working well, and I haven't gotten any burnt hits yet!

This momma turns the big five-oh in a couple of months - I am prolly gonna treat myself to "something" (I'll be seven months smoke-free by then) and I should be past my "break-even" point of cost of cigs compared to cost of gear. I'm looking at a new MVP (energy line), but part of me wants something *MORE* - I just don't know what that is.... I reply to newbies' questions about "What should I get?" I don't know what else is out there (mostly because I haven't wanted to spend insane amounts of money until I "even out" what I would have spent on smokes.) In my head, I feel like I need to "perfect" my kf builds in order to truly enhance my vaping experience - but why should I drop $180 on a Provari when my MVP and an EVOD keeps me away from cigarettes? Would I really get more flavor/vapor with something different?

My local B&M is good (juices are AMAZING), but it just seems so much more geared to "starter" devices. They have some mech mods (which truthfully, I'm not sure I want in my arsenal.) I wish I could have a "vape meet" with you guys - you're so much more informative!

Sorry for the ramble. I feel like this thread is my "home base", and you always have such excellent advice to share....
